Hello. Looking for other ladies (or men!) who are IVF cycling with the Victoria Wing at Nuffield Woking either privately or NHS to share what happens, how it's going, any tips (what's the car parking like?!), to support one another and success stories of course. My stats:
Geeup
Aged 34
Ttc #1 for 22 cycles so far (4 with Clomid)
OH has low morphology MFI (but it's varied)
NHS cycle - first appt 31st Jan with Dr Riddle
One question to get us going, anyone know what the policy is about having 2 embryos put in on first cycle? Thanks!

8um8le8ee and Geeup fantastic news! To get frosties is amazing! Hopefully they wont be needed for some time!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

My AF is on the way today, so will hopefully be calling the clinic tomorrow to book my scratch! Has anyone had one before? I've had hysteroscopy so wondered if it was a similar experience?

8um8le8ee · 12/07/2017 16:28

Hey geeup that's great your embie is in and you have 2 in the freezer. Good luck with the 2ww!

Thank you all.

I hope there are some options for you mrsdarcy so you can have a baby with you OH. Good luck for Thursday, let us know how you get on.

Not had the scratch northsouth, I didn't know about it until reading it on here. Good luck with it all.

flamingo how did you feel in the 2ww, I'm still feeling lethargic and I know it's probably due to the cyclogest. Did that happen to you and did it pass?

Flamingo44 · 12/07/2017 20:20

Hi 8umble8ee I think I was pretty lethargic but it definitely hasn't passed, I'm more tired than ever!! I think it's partly to do with the cyclogest! Other than that I didn't have any noticeable symptoms until some brown spotting 4/5 days post transfer and that's also when the night time cramps started, which made me think I was out! I still get a few cramps now but I'm sure sometimes it's just trapped wind...another joyful side effect of the cyclogest!

I feel for you as I found the 2 WW really tough! Although to be honest...it hasn't got any easier on the wait to my first scan (next Tuesday) and then after that I'm sure I'll fret to the 12 week one etc etc!! I understand that this is a nice problem to have though!

MrsDarcy I echo what 8um8le8ee says. I'm still holding out hope that you and your OH get your baby! Let us know how your meeting on Thursday goes.

geeup · 12/07/2017 22:37

Definitely with you on the trapped wind... Blush

@Flamingo44 what did you do in your 24-48 hrs after transfer - can you remember? I'm trying to do nothing like they suggested but I find it hard. Been sorting books that need to go to charity shop and now worrying it's too much - all the crouching and leaning over - so have stopped. I wondered if other people literally sit down and watch box sets or if you carried on "as normal". Help!

OP posts:
Flamingo44 · 13/07/2017 13:32

Hi Geeup! I stayed home and chilled out the day of transfer...think I spent the afternoon on the sofa. But the next day I was back at work. I used to have a long walk to work and back each day (20-25 mins each way) so for the first week after I drove half way to make my walk only about 10 mins each way. We were packing boxes up to move so I definitely did some moving around at home but I didn't lift any of the boxes when full as my OH wouldn't let me! So generally I got back to normal.

I think it's good to move a little, my acupuncturist told me that gentle walking/moving is good for blood flow to the womb. I did have another acupuncture session 2 days after my transfer too...not sure if that played a part or not but as I'd seen her regularly for a while I thought I might as well!

I know it's really tough but I think the real key is to try and stay relaxed. Don't do anything you might feel guilty about later (which would be different for everyone), but don't feel like you need to sit still for a week! I've got everything crossed for you!

geeup · 13/07/2017 13:51

That's really good to know. Thanks. I've been so chilled out this second cycle vs my first but now I'm in the 2ww straight away I'm Confused

Hi geeup. I rested on the day of the transfer and carried on as normal the next day but I have cut out any exercising apart from walking. This week I am WFH and will be going into work as normal next week. I have found the mindful ivf app really useful and adult colouring books as I am getting bored and keep googling!

geeup · 13/07/2017 14:12

That sounds like a good plan. It's so hard to sit on your bum and watch tv when there's so many things to do and the weather is good!

Hope your meeting has gone well today @MrsDarcy4092 ?

MrsDarcy4092 · 13/07/2017 16:54

Hey all

We had our appointment. They suggested to do short protocol in future with a change from bureslin to cetrotide to try and stop me ovulating early. He said DH sperm is more the issue as there weren't none but there went enough to chose good ones. He said that's very very unusual. He said it might be unlucky that maybe DH was ill 3 months ago when it was made etc so had suggested doing another test in 3 months and see if it's any better - if it is then they will freeze it but if it's not then it is hugely unlikely the sperm will ever work in icsi so there would be no more options other than donor. He said he was much more confident that they can't stop me ovulating early than he is about getting a good analysis from DH.
So it could be positive but overall I think we just have 3 months now before being told to go for donor and i feel a little irritated at DH as he's come out of it super positive and convinced we were unlucky and next time the sperm will be ok,
Difficult situation though so I understand.
So we have 3 months of being super healthy I can lose more weight etc then will see how things are then and go from there!

Flamingo44 · 13/07/2017 17:06

That's great that it wasn't a definite no MrsDarcy...and I understand your reservations but it's good your OH is optimistic as hopefully he'll throw everything at trying to get his next sample as healthy as possible. As well as the diet and exercise has he tired acupuncture for his sperm? Wishing you lots of luck and enjoy a relaxing 3 months!

MrsDarcy4092 · 13/07/2017 17:09

He's been doing reflexology but might look at changing to acupuncture, were doing everything else I think - no caffeine, no alcohol, no hot baths, no tight pants, proxeed .
It's good to still be in with a shot and hopefully by Nov we will be in a much better position

geeup · 13/07/2017 19:38

Sounds like you're doing everything as well as you can darcy. Hoping the next 3 months do the trick for you xxx

8um8le8ee · 15/07/2017 17:38

That's great news mrsdarcy so glad you have another go. Good luck! X

This 2ww is awful! I feel normal most of the time but have moments when I really struggle with tiredness. I have a busy week next week which I am thankful for as I think I'll go nuts if I was at home for another week. Hope you are all having good weekends!

geeup · 15/07/2017 17:45

I know what you mean bumble. I have zero symptoms (not even tiredness) and not much interest in going back to work but at the same time, will be good to keep my mind off things. Was secretly hoping I'd have had some implantation bleeding or cramping or anything but feel exactly the same. Have my normal spots I get a week before my period and boobs don't hurt much so worrying it'll be exactly the same as last cycle and I'll start bleeding again in a couple of days :(

OP posts:
geeup · 17/07/2017 11:44

Bad news from me. I've started having brown tinged CM - exactly what happened last time - so expect I'll start bleeding tomorrow at 6dp5dt. Gutted it hasn't worked again. Feeling utterly hopeless as I face whatever comes next. Sad

OP posts:
MrsDarcy4092 · 17/07/2017 11:47

Oh geeup I'm so sorry. I think I've heard of people having brown tinged cm and still getting a Bfp but it must be so hard when you have been through this previously.
Are you at home or in work today? Hope your ok and thinking of you 🤞

Flamingo44 · 17/07/2017 11:55

Don't give up just yet Geeup...I had some brown spotting at 7dp5dt and it worked out ok for me. I've definitely read where people have identical symptoms but the outcome is different so it's not over yet. Have you caved and taken a test yet?

Sending hugs.

8um8le8ee · 17/07/2017 12:25

Hi geeup. Hang in there it may not be AF showing up, it might be implantation bleeding. My mum had a normal period for 2 months when she was pregnant with me and she didn't with my brother and sister.

I have no symptoms and am getting worried but I still feel exhausted and just really anxious and want to do a test but I'm not going to until test day.

Good luck x

geeup · 17/07/2017 12:33

Flamingo did you test when you got brown CM before test day?

OP posts:
geeup · 17/07/2017 12:50

Oh my god flamingo. I went straight to Boots when you said about testing and bought a FRER and I can't believe I'm saying this but I think there is my first ever bloody second line!!! I'm not thinking it'll be a pregnancy at all but even if it's just my first chemical I think this is the first ever time I have produced HcG! Fuck me I cannot believe it. Am crying in my work loo.

Yey!! Fingers crossed it sticks and the spotting is just it getting comfy! I did a test 2 days after my spotting. I only spotted for 1 day I think, might have been 2 and it was accompanied with some cramps at night...I was sure I was out too and so shocked when the clear blue fertility monitor I used popped up as 'pregnant'! Really hoping this is your time Geeup.

geeup · 17/07/2017 12:59

God I hope so too. I know there's nothing I can do to make it stick or not and if nothing else I honestly will try and be grateful for my first ever second line if this is a chemical but my god I need this to stick. If there is a god, I'm praying now!!

OP posts:
Flamingo44 · 17/07/2017 13:01

All the waiting is so hard! If your brown cm doesn't get any heavier tomorrow I think you're in with a good chance. Will keep everything crossed!
