Hello. Looking for other ladies (or men!) who are IVF cycling with the Victoria Wing at Nuffield Woking either privately or NHS to share what happens, how it's going, any tips (what's the car parking like?!), to support one another and success stories of course. My stats:
Geeup
Aged 34
Ttc #1 for 22 cycles so far (4 with Clomid)
OH has low morphology MFI (but it's varied)
NHS cycle - first appt 31st Jan with Dr Riddle
One question to get us going, anyone know what the policy is about having 2 embryos put in on first cycle? Thanks!

That's fantastic geeup! Good luck for the call tomorrow.

8um8le8ee I'm the same, rare moments of feeling normal but Mostly my lower abdomen hurts I'm constipated feeling nauseas with nerves and I'm exhausted - I've mostly slept all weekend!
I managed to get through most of the weekend without feeling stressed or anxious but in past hour it's just overcome me how tomorrow this could all be over and I feel sick with nerve. If I wasn't so tired I wouldn't sleep at all tonight!

geeup · 09/07/2017 21:53

Remind me - is it OTD for both of you tomorrow?

MrsDarcy4092 · 09/07/2017 22:21

It's transfer day but we've only got the one embryo and the embryologist didn't fancy our chances of ever getting preg using DH sperm. Scary day!

Flamingo44 · 10/07/2017 07:07

Good luck today everyone.

Geeup I hope your 5 embryos are still developing well.

Good luck to you both for hopefully successful transfers today MrsDarcy and 8um8le8ee Let us know how you get on.

geeup · 10/07/2017 07:46

Oh course sorry mrsdarcy. Normally I write a little note on where everyone is in their cycle so I don't get confused between threads but wasn't at home!! Keeping everything crossed for you for your transfer. What do you have planned for this afternoon/rest of week?
They just called me to say our 5 are still going (but two are leading) so I'm on for a 5 day transfer too.

That's great news geeup.
Good luck 8um8le8ee I hope it goes really well for you,
Unfortunately our embryo didn't make blastocyst stage so we're out.

Flamingo44 · 10/07/2017 09:47

Oh MrsDarcy I'm so sorry to hear that. You must be absolutely gutted. Also it's so unfair that you've been through so much of the cycle without being able to transfer. Infertility is such a cruel thing.

Do you know what your next steps will be? Although I'm guessing you'll just take some time to recover to begin with. Has your partner tried acupuncture to help improve his speed? Just wondering if it might be worth a shot? I'm sure you've tried most other things.

Go easy on yourself for the next few days.

8um8le8ee · 10/07/2017 10:08

I'm so sorry mrsdarcy. I just don't know what to say. You was so close. Hopefully you can have another go? X

MrsDarcy4092 · 10/07/2017 10:19

Thank you both. I am absolutely gutted but the embryologist did a good job in preparing us that this was likely to happen so it's not a shock. I'm going back to work tomorrow to get back some normal. Who Knows but probably this way is better than another BFN as I hate those so much.

We need to discuss things with the clinic but the embryologist did imply we would need to use donor sperm in future and we need to decide if we are ok with doing that and have some time to recover from the emotions of this cycle.

We have a holiday in sept and I would like to lose some more weight and have the holiday before making any decisions.

Good luck to all!

geeup · 10/07/2017 11:04

Oh mrsdarcy I'm so so sorry. You are very brave. I'm so pleased you had a holiday to look forward to. I can't imagine what you're feeling but know that we're all thinking of you.

MrsDarcy4092 · 10/07/2017 13:26

Thank you.

I'm wishing everyone loads of luck, go get those BFPs!!

8um8le8ee · 10/07/2017 14:13

Thank you mrsdarcy I have my fingers crossed for you. Don't give up. Enjoy your holiday. X

I had ET this morning and acupuncture before and after. The blastocyst started to hatch and I may have either 1 or 2 to freeze.

geeup · 10/07/2017 14:28

Guessing you just had the one put back bumble?

OP posts:
Flamingo44 · 10/07/2017 14:48

The one they put back in had already started to hatch 8um8le8ee? Does that mean it's developing really fast?

Fingers crossed for a BFP for you.

Still so sorry MrsDarcy but like Geeup said I'm glad to hear you've got a holiday to look forward to and a little break from all the stress to give you time to think sounds like a great idea.

MrsDarcy4092 · 10/07/2017 15:41

That's great news 8um8le8ee. When is your OTD?

Does anyone know if a cycle fails how long the unit call to follow up? I spoke to embryology this morning and was told a nurse would call to talk and book in the follow up consultation. I was kind of expecting it to have been today?

8um8le8ee · 10/07/2017 15:54

I was only allowed to put 1 back geeup.

The embryo was slightly faster and they said it was really good quality. The OTD is still the same which is 21st July.

geeup · 10/07/2017 16:04

Hi mrsdarcy. I don't remember very well but when my cycle failed, the follow up call wasn't the same day. I think they leave it a few days for you to get your head around what's happened. I hope that helps.
Bumble - great news it was good quality and we'll keep everything crossed for you for the 21st. That'll mean I'll be the 23rd if I make it that far (I didn't last time).

OP posts:
8um8le8ee · 10/07/2017 16:22

Thank you and let us know how you get on.

8um8le8ee · 11/07/2017 11:31

Morning all. I had a call from VW this morning to say they only managed to freeze 1 embryo and it was grade 4AB which I'm pleased with.

Good luck geeup with ET tomorrow.

Flamingo44 · 11/07/2017 12:03

Hi 8um8le8ee that's great news, but hopefully you won't be needing it...or at least not for a long time!

It's interesting that they told you the grade. I don't know the grades of any of my frozen ones and they only said the one they put back in was 'really good'!

geeup · 11/07/2017 12:04

Well it's fantastic to have one in the freezer. Only 10% of people get anything to freeze so great news.

OP posts:
Flamingo44 · 12/07/2017 07:02

Good luck today Geeup Hope the transfer goes well.

MrsDarcy4092 · 12/07/2017 08:43

Good luck today geeup.
That's great news 8um8le8ee!
We have our follow up with mr Curtis on Thursday afternoon, so nervous!

geeup · 12/07/2017 13:57

Thanks all. One embie on board and a couple for the freezer which we're really happy about. Had acupuncture before and after and now spending the rest of the day watching the tennis! Wish me luck. God I want this to work so much.

OP posts:
Flamingo44 · 12/07/2017 14:26

Great news that you've had 1 transferred and ended up with a couple of freezable ones too.

Will keep my fingers crossed for all of you to get your BFPs next week.
