Hello. Looking for other ladies (or men!) who are IVF cycling with the Victoria Wing at Nuffield Woking either privately or NHS to share what happens, how it's going, any tips (what's the car parking like?!), to support one another and success stories of course. My stats:
Geeup
Aged 34
Ttc #1 for 22 cycles so far (4 with Clomid)
OH has low morphology MFI (but it's varied)
NHS cycle - first appt 31st Jan with Dr Riddle
One question to get us going, anyone know what the policy is about having 2 embryos put in on first cycle? Thanks!

I'm so sorry I'm so rubbish at keeping up to date with this thread but I really hope everyone is ok.
My first menapour was tonight and was fine.
I also had acupuncture tonight it's my third session and because of the heat and drug effects I just slept through whole thing.
I have two questions please- 1) do yuh need to give the jabs at exactly the same time? I do mine between 7:15 and 7:40 each evening,
2) for progress scans do you see nurse too or just have the scan?
Thanks all! Just drinking a protein shake before getting an early night 😀

Flamingo44 · 20/06/2017 20:33

Hi MrsDarcy I was told not to give my jabs more than 15 minutes apart. I did mine all at 7pm but the nurse said if it was 7:15 that would be ok...so I would try and keep to the exact time as much as possible!

When you go for your scans you will see a nurse after who will give your notes a quick look over and write out your prescription for any menopur to take you to the next scan!

MrsDarcy4092 · 20/06/2017 21:20

Thank you! Will make sure I do them now at 7:20 which is when I took the first stim tonight.

Hopefully it's not been detrimental so far.

How many other people are currently doing a cycle with vw? Might see you there!

8um8le8ee · 21/06/2017 12:46

Thanks northsouth i am drinking lots of water, had 2 litres already but still got a headache and peeing lots.

mrsdarcy how are you getting on? What dose are you taking? I'm on 300.

That's great flamingo that you have 5 frozen!

geeup I hope all is ok with AF.

Enjoy the weather everyone, it's great to build up the vit d stores.

MrsDarcy4092 · 21/06/2017 13:17

8um8le8ee What day of stims are you on? Are you on long protocol?

I'm on 225 feel ok just very tired and the occasional headache. I started bleeding today, very light but was worried as my bleed ended on Sunday. Clinic said it's normal though as menopur doesn't start to work properly for 2-3 days.

Flamingo that's an amazing number of frozens!

8um8le8ee · 21/06/2017 13:46

mrsdarcy tonight will be my 2nd day. Yes I'm on the long protocol. I didn't know there is a chance of another bleed. It's good that the clinic have confirmed it's normal. I have slight cramping and felt as if I my AF was going to come again.

MrsDarcy4092 · 21/06/2017 16:43

8um8le8ee We are at exactly same time in the Process. I had a very very light bleed today but it's so unusual for me to get any extra bleeding so I was worried but glad to hear from clinic it can be normal. They are so kind it's first time I've had to call to ask anything and so easy to get through etc.

geeup · 22/06/2017 10:41

Bumble and mrsdarcy - glad stimming is going ok. Sorry about the light bleeds but hopefully nothing to worry about.
CD1 here - was very happy to see AF after last month's weird and delayed period. So baseline scan on Monday and should start stimming Tuesday. Hurrah. I'm off too!!

Flamingo44 · 22/06/2017 11:18

That's great Geeup glad AF arrived! Did you get the scratch done in the end?

Glad that the stimming is going ok for you both MrsDarcy and 8um8le8ee.

I'm currently trying not to go crazy on the 2ww....much easier said than done!!

8um8le8ee · 22/06/2017 11:44

Yes mrsdarcy we are on the same times!

geeup that's great, you are on it too now.

flamingo you are leading the pack. Bless you, I'm thinking of things to do and making a list of movies for the 2ww.

Flamingo44 · 22/06/2017 12:05

Good plan 8um8le8ee although I'm moving house (actually moving on OTD - great timing 🙄) and have a lot to think about and even that's not enough to keep my mind occupied!!

MrsDarcy4092 · 22/06/2017 21:20

2 week wait must be the hardest part in all of this. How is the progesterone going?
Good luck with the move!

Flamingo44 · 22/06/2017 21:48

I think it is the hardest part! You no longer feel like you have any control as there's nothing more to do! Progesterone is going ok, obviously not the most pleasant thing in the world but it's fine!

When do you have your first progress scans MrsDarcy and 8um8le8ee?

MrsDarcy4092 · 22/06/2017 22:12

Mine is on Monday. It feeels like it's flying by so far, work is really busy in a non stressful way so that helps.

I'm sure the 2ww will be difficult though.
How does it work on test day have they give you a test to use or is it a shop bought one? I hope the 2 weeks pass quickly for you

geeup · 23/06/2017 08:37

They give you one mrsdarcy.

OP posts:
8um8le8ee · 23/06/2017 08:56

My scan is on Monday too. I feel the same, this week has flown by.

Good luck with the move flamingo.

Flamingo44 · 23/06/2017 09:00

Yes it's a very strange test they give you! But they do give you one!

I'm glad it's flying by for both of you! I think counting down the injections between each appointment helps to make the time pass too! The 2ww is definitely when time moves the slowest!!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

MrsDarcy4092 · 26/06/2017 09:19

Hi everyone, my first progress scan didn't go as well as hoped I'm not responding as expected. Just waiting for blood results this afternoon to know next steps but on my baseline scan I had 23 follicles and this morning only 6. They were from 7-12 mm and my lining was 7.8 which I think is good.
Feeling really disappointed though !

Flamingo44 · 26/06/2017 09:45

Sorry to hear that MrsDarcy but try not to worry too much. Firstly I'm sure they can adjust your dose to help to get more follicles growing, and secondly I've heard of success stories with 6 follicles or less...remember it only takes 1 and quality is more important than quantity. Hopefully they'll get a plan together for you once you've had your blood test.

8um8le8ee · 26/06/2017 10:08

I've have the same result as you mrsdarcy 6 follicles, 1 on my left and 5 on my right all between 7 to 11 mm. Lining is 7.7. I only had 2 on my right and 6 on my left on the first scan.

I'm not sure how I'm feeling. I do wish there were more but them I'm thinking I'm glad it has worked so far and I do actually have follicles growing. I hope these are good quality. I'm going to try and be positive.

MrsDarcy4092 · 26/06/2017 15:28

Thanks all, just heard back and my oestrogen was low so my menopur dose is now up to 300 . I'm hoping that helps as my amh is good and I had so many follicles at baseline scan I hope I can get a few more going by weds.

8um8le8ee funny we had same result. We're you expecting 6 or did they do a blood test for you too?

Hope we both have positive scans on Wednesday!

8um8le8ee · 26/06/2017 15:52

I know mrsdarcy it is strange our results are the same. I am on 300 on Menopur. I hope more appear for you. What is your AMH? Mine is 6. No I didn't have a blood test, the nurses said this is what they would expect. I have had my eggs frozen before and I had 9 retrieved but at the first scan they only saw 5 follies so I am hoping more will appear.

Thank you. Yes fingers and toes are crossed for positive results on Wednesday. As flamingo said it is quality not quantity, but I suppose there aren't any measurements for quality so there is a natural tendency to focus on the quantity.

geeup · 26/06/2017 16:45

I'm intrigued you had a blood test darcy as I didn't have that in my first cycle.
I had my baseline scan today and lining thin so I'm ready to start stims tomorrow. Ill be on 450 menopur a day as an a slow responder.
Here we go again!

OP posts:
MrsDarcy4092 · 26/06/2017 20:39

My amh was 22 and follicle count was 23 in total so they were expecting me to have responded much better . They checked my oestrogen today to be sure they weren't missing any follicles on the scan but my oestrogen was low so confirmed the scan results. They also said the follicles were on the small side for what they would expect, I had one at 7, one at 9, two at 10 one at 11 and one at 12. I was quite pleased with it but I really have no idea what they should be at this stage.
I was on 225 now up to 300 so fingers crossed.
Good luck geeup, when is your first progress scan?
Thank you flamingo and 8um8le8bee I will focus on quality over quantity!

MrsDarcy4092 · 26/06/2017 20:41

I guess it's all individual as to what the baseline is as to how they expect you to respond. Today just reminded me that nothing is certain and things can change any moment. One day at a time
