Hello. Looking for other ladies (or men!) who are IVF cycling with the Victoria Wing at Nuffield Woking either privately or NHS to share what happens, how it's going, any tips (what's the car parking like?!), to support one another and success stories of course. My stats:
Geeup
Aged 34
Ttc #1 for 22 cycles so far (4 with Clomid)
OH has low morphology MFI (but it's varied)
NHS cycle - first appt 31st Jan with Dr Riddle
One question to get us going, anyone know what the policy is about having 2 embryos put in on first cycle? Thanks!

Thanks Geeup and MrsDarcy. They counted 17 follicles today but 1 of those is only 8mm so unlikely to make it. Fingers are crossed for the other 16 though. I'm shocked I've got so many as my AMH is only 10 (I think I've shocked the nurses too!) so I'm just hoping that they're not all empty!

Feeling a bit full up and aware of my tummy today, but other than that I've felt ok the whole way through really MrsDarcy. I think I maybe had a couple of hot flushes and I've been quite tried...but I'm always tired and have had really early starts to get my scans in before work so it could just be that! When is your baseline scan?

Did you have the scratch Geeup or are you still waiting?

8um8le8ee · 12/06/2017 13:40

That's great news flamingo!

Down reg is going ok so far, I think I've mastered the art of injecting as I'm managing to do it without bruising this time! My moods have been fine, luckily for my OH. AF came on Saturday and was really painful and heavy but only lasted for a day and I had my first acupuncture session on Saturday which helped with the cramps. I've been wanting a chocolate fix and I caved in today and have a double chocolate magnum. If I'm gonna have a naughty day I thought I should do it properly Grin

My baseline scan is on the 19th.

Good luck everyone. Things are progressing!

Flamingo44 · 12/06/2017 15:53

Thanks 8um8le8ee! Sounds like you're getting on ok. I have had a few treats along the way....so I'm all for it! Like a few people have said before you need to try and be good but not beat yourself up if you can't be perfect all the time.

Good luck for Friday, hope the baseline scan goes well.

BeePositive · 12/06/2017 17:50

Hi flamingo thanks, yes, feels weird not actually focussed on any IVF-related routine at the moment & I have even stopped vitamins & supplements (except folic acid) to give myself a proper break until end of August. But thought I'd check in...

So pleased to hear your follies are doing well. I'm sure you're so happy the stim's phase is over ahead of exciting ET. wishing u all the very best for Wednesday!!

8um8le8ee · 14/06/2017 11:18

Just wanted to wish you all the best flamingo for egg collection today. You've probably had it done now. Rest up and good luck with the fertilisation. X

Flamingo44 · 14/06/2017 12:48

Thanks 8um8le8ee Yes just got home. Feeling a little sore but not too bad. Just taken some paracetamol and will rest on the sofa for the afternoon. They collected 11 eggs so hoping for good fertilisation results.
Hope you're still doing ok?

Thanks to you too Beepositive for your kind words the other day.

Hope everyone else is ok too.

BeePositive · 14/06/2017 13:58

Great number flamingo. Here's hoping you have a good fertilisation rate for upcoming transfer, and I'm sure a good number to send as frosties for hopefully NOT needing in future. Fingers crossed for this fresh cycle. May the painkillers help, rest up and hope the bloating eases well for you now. Take care Flowers

8um8le8ee your scan is just around the corner now. Hope the meds continue not to cause any issues and the injections are going well still. Good luck!

Flamingo44 · 14/06/2017 14:37

Thanks Beepositive. Here's hoping for all of us! 🙏🏼

8um8le8ee · 14/06/2017 15:03

That's great flamingo. Take care and keep us updated with the progress.

The meds and injections are still going well thank you beepositive. I hope you are enjoying your rest away from ivf, the time will be upon you again before you know it. Yes the scan is on the 19th and I'm getting a little anxious and hoping I have a good number of follies and most importantly good quality.

MrsDarcy4092 · 15/06/2017 05:47

Great news flamingo! Good luck, are you having ivf or icsi?

My bleed started today bang on time but compared to normal it's heavier so far, is this to be expected? Should I prepare for a heavy bleed? 4 days till my progress scan. Time is going fast!

Flamingo44 · 15/06/2017 07:58

Thanks MrsDarcy we're having ivf so waiting for the call to see if any fertilised!

My breakthrough bleed was a few days late (6 I think) and was pretty heavy compared to usual for the first 2 days, and then normal for 2 days! Good that it came on time and you're on track for your scan!

8um8le8ee · 15/06/2017 08:49

Hi mrsdarcy my bleed was earlier than what i thought it would be but the nurses said as long as it was before my baseline scan that's all fine. Yes it was very heavy and only lasted a day, then it has been spotting for a few days after.

I have my baseline scan on Monday too!

Good luck flamingo!

Flamingo44 · 15/06/2017 10:18

Good luck to both of you for your Monday scans. I'm hoping Monday will be my transfer day!

Had my call from the clinic, 8 of the 11 eggs have fertilised normally so just hoping that they continue to develop ok now.

MrsDarcy4092 · 15/06/2017 19:53

Congratulations flamingo that's great news! How are you feeling?
My bleed had returned to normal flow now, just so painful without ibuprofen but other than that it's fine!

Flamingo44 · 15/06/2017 20:15

Sorry it's still painful MrsDarcy, hopefully the pains will ease tomorrow.

I feel ok, not 100%, but nothing to really complain about! I'm still seriously bloated, did anyone else have that? Hoping to take it easy over the weekend so that I'm back feeling good by transfer (which I'm hoping will be Monday 🤞🏼).

MrsDarcy4092 · 19/06/2017 15:04

Hi all,

I had my baseline scan today and all fine. Can start stimulation phase!!

How is everyone doing?

8um8le8ee · 19/06/2017 15:24

Hi mrsdarcy that's great. I had my baseline scan today too and the same for me. All is good and I start Menopur tomorrow.

flamingo have you had transfer today?

geeup · 19/06/2017 15:24

Good news darcy. Glad all going well. My period is still AWOL - very dull. Never wanted her to show up as much ever!

Flamingo44 · 19/06/2017 15:53

Glad your baseline scans went well MrsDarcy and 8umble8ee, hope you both get on ok with the menopur injections.

Sorry to hear your AF is AWOL Geeup...mine was 6 days late if it's any consolation?

Yes 8um8le8ee I had my transfer today! I have 1 blast on board and had acupuncture before and after so now it's just a waiting game!

Would be grateful for any tips or advice on what to do/expect? Did anyone get any spotting? When should I expect that to start? Am trying to take it easy today but I'm back at work tomorrow 😕

8um8le8ee · 19/06/2017 16:07

Thanks flamingo I was at acupuncture today too and I was wandering if you would be there. Our paths may have crossed. Thats great, you are officially PUPO! Take it easy at work and all the best with getting sticky.

Flamingo44 · 19/06/2017 16:16

Thanks 8um8le8ee! I had my acupuncture somewhere else as Nadia and her clinic were fully booked. It worked out ok though. I'm having some more on Wednesday morning with my normal acupuncturist too...giving it everything I've got 🤞🏼

NorthSouth85 · 20/06/2017 10:19

Hi Guys,

I haven't been on for a while, managed to get a holiday in before out treatment starts which was lovely.

We went to see Mr Brook at the beginning of the month, he was lovey. Said he will learn from our previous failed cycles and has given me the option of a scratch and Embrogen? (excuse the spelling).
So we have decided to go ahead and throw everything we can at it this time. I have to call on day one of my cycle to book the scratch and away we go!

Flamingo44 - congratulations on the transfer, that lovely news! Did you manage to freeze any?

Mrs Darcy / 8um8le8ee - good look with your stims, just keep drinking your water (which wont be difficult in the current weather!)

Geeup - my period was late on both cycles, like you say for that one month you have never wanted a period more!! haha.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Flamingo44 · 20/06/2017 10:46

Hi NorthSouth glad you had a nice relaxing holiday. Hopefully that'll put you in the right frame of mind for this new cycle. Wishing you the best of luck with it! I'm definitely going to ask for the scratch if this one doesn't stick and we have to go again, I've heard good things!

Learnt this morning that we have 5 in the freezer which I'm amazed by! But also very pleased about as we will be paying for any future treatments and I know FETs are a lot cheaper than fresh cycles. Just hoping I don't need them for a couple of years 🤞🏼

NorthSouth85 · 20/06/2017 11:12

Wow! 5 is amazing! We didn't get any on either of our previous cycles and they told us only around 10% of patients manage too so you should be really pleased! Smile

I hope you don't need them until you want more!

We did Gonal F on our previous cycles and this time will be on menopur and I've heard it does help with the quality rather than quantity so fingers crossed it will make a difference for us x

Flamingo44 · 20/06/2017 12:26

Thanks NorthSouth! Fingers are crossed for you!
