I'm due to start the Short Protocol when AF arrives next week and I wondered whether anyone else was in the same situation and would like to join me? I'm pretty nervous about everything so would love to offer some support to others in the same situation and get some advice and support as well. You don't have to be on the Short Protocol of course - any other protocols welcome too!

To introduce myself am 41, been ttc for over 2.5 years and in that time had at least 1 chemical pregnancy and a miscarriage at 6 weeks. We get one chance on the NHS where we live and don't know if we'll be able to afford another go if this doesn't work so am feeling the pressure!

So sorry to hear that Cityzen xx be good to yourself over Christmas and look forward to your cycle in January.

Hope MrsCrabtree and Lopi are ok during their 2ww. MrsCrabtree don't give up hope yet, you still have a while to go and anything can happen! Have faith in your embies!

Lemon hope the cetrotide are going ok. I found them to be very stingy!
I take mine at 10am every day and they have all stung. Found some heat after helps.

Goodthings ! I am thinking of you today! Hope it goes well, fill us in on the details when you are back!!

AFM I had another scan today after remaining on the same dose. Good news is that there aren't any extra follicies - well there was 1 so I now have a total of 28 follicles! Not all of them are the right size however, only 1 is above 17mm, then there are 13 in the 10mm-16mm category and the rest are way below so not even counted as contenders. So the nurse said to come back in tomorrow for another scan and EC may be on Saturday which is also DH's bday.

Goodthingscome2those · 07/12/2016 16:09

Cityzen - sorry to hear this I really am, be extra nice to yourself, enjoy Christmas and look forward to your cycle in the new year xx

Mrscrabtree, you have an amazing blast on board so all is looking good at the moment please try to stay il beat (although I know find days are garden than others).

LoPI how are you getting on?

Liberte sounds great, fingers crossed you have EC later this week. Keep us posted on scan tomorrow.

Lemon, when is your first scan? Hope you're ok with the injections, I found getting the needles on and off the hardest part!

AFM, I had 8 eggs collected but had much more pain than last time and have been bleeding a fair bit since getting home so waiting for the hospital to call me back Confused, anyone else had bleeding after? Xxx

liberte12 · 07/12/2016 16:52

Goodthings congrats on the 8 eggs!!
Sorry to hear you are bleeding though, I can't help because I haven't got that far before. Hope it goes away though xx

Mrscrabtree · 07/12/2016 17:21

Well done Goodthings, 8 is great!! Sorry you're in pain. I was too and did have some bleeding for about 2 days. They said to call if it was gushing or if there were very large clots? Hope you're dosed up on paracetamol.

Thanks for your encouraging words Goodthings and liberte. I am trying to be positive. Actually liberte that has really helped me to think of it as having faith in my embie - I'm sure it's doing its best! And I'm doing my best so that's all we can do.

Thinking of you all Xmas Smile

LemonDrizzler · 07/12/2016 19:22

Sorry to hear that Cityzen. Hope you're feeling ok.

I used an ice pack before and after the cetrotide last night and it didn't hurt at all this time so would def recommend that approach. I made DH get the needles on and off as I stabbed myself in the practice session so put myself off!

Goodthings sorry to hear you're in pain. Is it any better now? 8 eggs is great though.

Liberte that sounds really positive.

Hope the 2ww is going ok mrscrabtree.

I had my second scan today and there is a polyp in my uterus so they won't be able to transfer any embryos and I will need to see my GP to arrange getting it removed. We will need to freeze anything from this cycle.

I'm really gutted. I am just so sad at yet another delay when I thought we had finally got started. I really don't know how long a GP referral will take. I just thought we were getting there after 3 and a half years of misery. And if there is nothing good enough quality to freeze that means it has all been for nothing. 😔

Sorry woe is me post!!

Goodthingscome2those · 07/12/2016 19:35

Oh lemon sorry to hear this, there is always something! There are so just many hurdles to get over.

Still in a lot of pain, doctor called me back and wants me to let them know tomorrow if I'm still bleeding as he said it could be caused by a drop in hormones meaning lining may become too thin for transfer but they'll have to scan me to see if that's the case Sad.

Mrscrabtree and LoPI did you manage to freeze any? Already thinking ahead of myself! Xxx

liberte12 · 07/12/2016 20:17

Hope the bleeding stops Goodthings

Sorry to hear that Lemon I know what you mean re delays. My cycle got delayed due to a cyst which wouldn't go away. Are polyps the same as cysts? Do they go away on their own? xx

LemonDrizzler · 07/12/2016 21:30

Thank you. Apparently they are like a skin tag. Not sure what causes them. I will ask more questions at the scan on Friday. It is so frustrating isn't it liberte? Did your cyst go on it's own?

So sorry about the pain and bleeding Goodthings. I hope it stops soon.

LemonDrizzler · 07/12/2016 21:31

*its own Blush

liberte12 · 07/12/2016 22:24

Yes Lemon it went away by itself but it took nearly a month. Cysts r different to polyps then coz I had a cyst caused by ovulation and also coz I have pcos so they are common. So they told me to take the pill and then gave me scans after two weeks, it hadn't gone so they gave it another week and half and I went in expecting it to be there and to be told I'd have to wait until next cycle which could have been a long time coz of my pcos I get irregular cycles but it had gone. Did they say there is a chance it could go? Or what u could do to get rid of it? Xx

LemonDrizzler · 08/12/2016 10:09

The nurse just said "oh well we can't transfer anything this cycle and you'll have to arrange to have it removed" (mid dildo cam). I think they come and go. The doctor had seen it before we started but seemed to think it would either go away or could be removed as part of the IVF cycle so that was a bit of a surprise. I'll ask more on Friday. DH wants us to speak to the doctor again. We seem to see different people every time so don't know how possible it is to request an appointment with the dr.

Are you feeling any better goodthings?

liberte12 · 08/12/2016 10:52

I agree with your DH Lemon sometimes the nurses say different things but ultimately its down to what the Dr says. If he said that initially then don't give up on it and hopefully you will be able to see this cycle through xx

Goodthingscome2those · 08/12/2016 16:21

Good kick tomorrow lemon.

Liberte how did scan go?

Mrscrabtree and LoPI how are your 2ww? When is OTD?

Cityzen I hope you're ok x

So out if the 8 eggs, 5 fertilised so I'm booked in for Saturday for transfer assuming lining is thick enough as I'm still bleeding at mo Confused xxx

Mrscrabtree · 08/12/2016 18:55

That's great news on the embryo front Goodthings! Sorry to heard you're still bleeding, what did the clinic say? Will they scan you before Saturday to be sure?

How did it go Liberte?

Lemon fingers crossed for your next appt, how annoying they have told you different things. Could a doctor not give you a call in the meantime?

AFM the 2ww seems like it will last a lifetime, OTD not til 18/12. Keeping busy with work but trying to rest in between and stay positive x

Goodthingscome2those · 08/12/2016 19:01

Mrscrabtree I am provisionally booked in for transfer on Saturday but they will scan me on the day to check my lining and make sure it's ok. I really hope your OTD comes around quickly, will you be strong enough to hold out until then do you think?

Sorry on previous post I meant good luck lemon! Blush

Xxx

liberte12 · 08/12/2016 20:37

Great news Goodthings sorry about the bleeding, did they say it should go? You still have a few days so hopefully all will be ok

MrsCrabtree definitely stay positive and take each day at a time! You have 10 days left so why not plan something for every day, something small (or big if you like) and that way you have something to look forward to each day.

AFM I had another scan today, on the positive the follicles have grown and there are enough of the right size so they have booked me in for EC on Saturday but the bad thing is they said I have a moderate/severe risk of getting OHSS. I am REALLY worried about this. She said it will happen between EC and ET so they are going to take bloods on Saturday and Tuesday to monitor it. If I am over stimulating then they will cancel the cycle and freeze anything viable. I asked what if the embroyos are not good enough quality to be frozen and she said well in that case we would complete the transfer. This makes NO sense to me at all but I have to just go with it. I really hope I don't get OHSS, I don't know how I will deal with this as I don't want to go to FET as I feel that it just won't work.
She also told me not to take the pregnyl I have in my fridge and gave me a trigger which apparently isn't as intense as pregnyl.

LemonDrizzler · 09/12/2016 08:38

Liberte I'm sorry you have the worry about OHSS. Did they say anything to do to minimise the chances? I heard drinking a lot of water could help. Are you in pain now? Great that you're going to EC though. Fingers crossed you get lots of good embryos to freeze and you have time for your ovaries to calm down before ET.

Goodthings has the bleeding slowed at all? I hope all can go ahead tomorrow.

Mrscrabtree hope you're not going crazy in the 2ww! Have you found anything good to distract you? I will ask today if we can speak to the doctor either at next appt or if not then a phone call is a good idea.

Will see how today goes. Hoping for some better news.

LoPl · 09/12/2016 08:52

Goodthings - yay 5 fertilised eggs! Sorry you are bleeding though. Hope it stops soon, and lining is OK (nothing is simple is it?).

Lemon - argh! Bloody polyp and bloody not knowing where you stand. It definitely comes down to Dr's decision though, whatever the nurse says in the room. I know it's tricky when you keep seeing different people (we were the same) but trust that they know what they are doing.

Libertie - good luck for EC tomorrow. Keep hanging on to the thought that it's really great to come this far. Hopefully, you'll be able to go to ET (drink lots of water to get the hormones out of your system) but don't worry too much if you need to freeze your embryos. I'm not sure what you've heard about FET but there is actually emerging research that suggests that it may be more successful than a live cycle....

How are you doing MrsCrabb - we're almost halfway through now! Are you feeling any different? I'm feeling pretty normal. And I think I'm going to go back to pilates this weekend. I've been pretty busy with work so not had too much time to think.... but any quiet moment I inevitably do!

xx

Mrscrabtree · 09/12/2016 13:33

Hi LoPI, I'm feeling totally normal! Nothing at all (except constipation from the progesterone!). Have been busy at work too and have a busy weekend planned. When's your OTD? I might test a bit early as mine is very conservative...

LoPl · 09/12/2016 13:50

My OTD date is 17th (next Sat). Am tempted to test on 16th, but also want to not doubt any result I get....

Goodthingscome2those · 09/12/2016 18:26

Lemon, how did you get on today?

Liberte, good luck for tomorrow.

Mrscrabtree and LoPI I hope you have some nice things planned for the weekend.

AFM the bleeding seems to have stopped, still feeling sore though but booked in for transfer tomorrow unless they call me to arrange it for Monday (hopefully lining is ok)!

Have a good weekend all xxx

LemonDrizzler · 09/12/2016 23:38

Oh I'm glad the bleeding has stopped goodthings. Fingers crossed for ET tomorrow!

And good luck tomorrow too liberte.

Scan today was ok. Have final scan tomorrow then probably EC on Monday. DH came with me today so asked more questions but the nurse wasn't really able to answer them (i.e. The risk of going ahead with a polyp, what we should do if we don't have anything to freeze, how to get referred to have it removed). We need to speak to the doctor but that is proving difficult! He did ask her for a letter to the GP asking for a referral to have it removed though so at least we are kind of moving with that.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Xx

Goodthingscome2those · 10/12/2016 09:40

Thinking of you liberte, hoping for lots of juicy eggs for you.

AFM I just had the call from the embryologist and all 5 are still going strong and have split equally so we are going in on Monday (day 5) now for transfer, I know it doesn't mean much but I'm over the moon and hoping my lining will be ok then!

Xxx

Mrscrabtree · 10/12/2016 09:51

All 5 still going Goodthings! That's brilliant!! Star roll on Monday for you.

Glad things are progressing ok Lemon, that's positive. And good luck today Liberte Flowers

LemonDrizzler · 10/12/2016 12:51

Good news on the 5 goodthings!

I trigger at 1am for egg collection on Monday. They swapped ovitrelle for buserilin as I am at risk of overstimulating then the plan is to freeze all and then arrange for hysteroscopy for polyp removal. Which is fine for now. Just wondering what the waiting time will be for that but oh well.

Hope you 2wwers are managing to keep yourselves busy and liberte hope all went well today.
