I'm due to start the Short Protocol when AF arrives next week and I wondered whether anyone else was in the same situation and would like to join me? I'm pretty nervous about everything so would love to offer some support to others in the same situation and get some advice and support as well. You don't have to be on the Short Protocol of course - any other protocols welcome too!

To introduce myself am 41, been ttc for over 2.5 years and in that time had at least 1 chemical pregnancy and a miscarriage at 6 weeks. We get one chance on the NHS where we live and don't know if we'll be able to afford another go if this doesn't work so am feeling the pressure!

Libertie - really hope no signs are good signs for you. Fingers crossed.

As for how to do the injection in other people's houses. That's tough. I snuck upstairs in my MiL's to do mine, but that was on my own. If you need DH that's tricker. Do you have to say it's an injection? Could you say you cut yourself in awkward place, and DH needs to dress the wound every night - that would give you 5 mins in the bathroom? (my OH did need stitches on his bum after getting caught with barb wire once, so this is my line of thinking....)

LoPl · 19/12/2016 11:05

stand - step away from the computer. Trust me, it's not helpful. Really hope your bleeding is not AF. xx

liberte12 · 19/12/2016 16:32

Thanks LopI I'm not too sure because I never get any AF signs either hence why I'm so paranoid. This two week wait is killing me. Definitely the worst part of the whole process.

Stand I hope the blood is just late implantation for you. Goodthings hope ur ok too.

Re injections I realised last night that I can just do it in my thigh. Apparently it hurts a lot more but I don't see any other alternative.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sorry had to get that out. And breathe.

Cityzen74 · 19/12/2016 17:02

LoPI going away for a break is a really good idea. I can recommend it a lot. I wondered whether we would feel too disappointed to enjoy it but we do feel relaxed and it is helping us to be more positive for January. Hope some time away is good for you too.

Liberte that sounds like a good plan for your injection but hope it doesn't hurt too much in your thigh.

Stand it is probably a good idea to stay away from Google if you can (but I find that hard to do!). Will have my fingers crossed for you and Goodthings on Friday.

Hello ladies, thinking about you all.

Cheering you on liberte, Goodthings and Stand, have my fingers crossed for you and wishing a quick week until your OTDs.

LoPI and Cityzen, holidays sound like a brilliant idea and you definitely deserve it. Lemon, hope you are ok too xxx

LemonDrizzler · 20/12/2016 17:08

Hi everyone. How are you getting on? goodthings and stand how are you coping with the wait? When are you testing?

Cityzen glad you had a nice break. When is your appt in Jan?

LoPI how are you doing? A break sounds good. A change of scenery always makes me feel better.

mrscrabtree how are you? Has it sunk in yet?

I kept my appointment with the consultant in the end and he has booked me in for polyp removal on Thursday! Wasn't expecting it to be so soon. So hopefully that will go ok and can have FET in Jan!

Cityzen74 · 21/12/2016 08:23

Lemon - that is really good news you are getting your polyp removed so quickly. Hope it all goes well and fingers crossed for FET in January. My appointment is on 29th December. Is a review appointment so I assume just to go over everything again and work out when AF might come in Jan. I think AF should turn up on 29th Dec if my cycle returns to normal so should have next AF 4 weeks later to start my cycle.

How is everyone else? Thinking of Stand and Goodthings for testing later this week.

Cityzen74 · 21/12/2016 08:24

Oh and of course Liberte. When is your OTD? Hope the injections are going ok.

Goodthingscome2those · 21/12/2016 09:24

Lemon that's great news, hoping all goes well tomorrow and wishing you luck with FET in new year Smile.

Cityzen, good luck with appointment next week.

Hope everyone is doing ok?

AFM I had a bit if spotting last night and this morning so just waiting for the AF from hell to really kick in so I'm out again for this cycle unfortunately, doubt I'll both testing Friday! So will start looking into private clinics in the new year around London if anyone has any recommendations?

Hope to see some BFP on here for you other ladies xxx

LoPl · 21/12/2016 12:12

Lemon - really good news re Polyp. So nice to be able to move forward.
Goodthings - hope spotting stops... and is nothing to worry about.... but I know that seeing it triggers a massive sinking feeling. Thinking of you. I'm currently looking at some London clincis, so pm me in the New Year if you want to share research.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Goodthingscome2those · 21/12/2016 12:14

Thanks LoPI, will do, I hope you're ok and can enjoy Christmas xxx

LemonDrizzler · 21/12/2016 21:27

Thank you. Bit nervous but I'm sure it will be fine.

Goodthings I'm really sorry about the spotting. I hope it stops.

Goodthingscome2those · 22/12/2016 07:18

Morning all,

Good luck today Lemon.

Stand are you holding out till tomorrow to test?

I'm still spotting but getting heavier so tested this morning and it's negative as I knew already so stopped taking cyclogest and will call clinic today.

If ok I'll still be checking to see how you other ladies get on and hoping you're pregnancy goes well mrscrabtree Smile. Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and those of us trying again next year get our BFP xxx

Mrscrabtree · 22/12/2016 08:36

Oh Goodthings, that's shit, I'm sorry. Hope you're looking after yourself today. Thinking of you Flowers

Lemon, good luck today Flowers

AFM, I've had a horrible scare after being threatened at work putting me in full on fear mode, shaking and all sorts, plus a night of anxiety and no sleep thinking about dealing with the fall-out today and now I'm just so worried it'll affect the baby or lead to a miscarriage. I have had reassurance this kind of extreme stress can't cause miscarriage but it is worrying Sad sorry to whinge to you when it's the least of your worries, Im sure it will be ok.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok, fingers crossed for those of you yet to test and positive thoughts to everyone else xxx

Goodthingscome2those · 22/12/2016 09:16

Oh no mrscrabtree that sounds awful, I hope you're ok. That sounds like the last thing you need, I've heard the same about stress so really hoping everything will be ok for you and baby xxx

Standfree83 · 22/12/2016 12:18

Afternoon ladies, ive had a few days away from thw internet in an attempt to avoid all scare stories.
Mrs Crabtree that sounds awful. Try to avoid any more stressful situations. Finges crossed for you that everything is ok.

Goodthings. Sorry to hear that. Are you going to test tomorrow as well? I'm still holding out for tomorrow. Had some form of spotting everyday and the temptation of testing early is driving me crazy so been getting up early and going to the loo in an attempt to convince myself the test won't work after the 1st week.

Lemon good luck for today. Fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly today.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

Goodthingscome2those · 22/12/2016 12:21

Hi stand, all sounds very positive Smile, no I'm not testing tomorrow, I called the clinic and they are happy with test from today if clearly negative, do I've stopped cyclogest and booked in my follow up appointment next month. I'll be checking to and hoping to see a BFP from you tomorrow xxx

liberte12 · 22/12/2016 13:06

Hi All,
Mrscrabtree hope ur well, sorry to hear ur stressed. Hope you feel better soon.

Lemon good luck today

Stand good luck tomorrow

Goodthings so sorry to hear that. Hope you are doing as well as you can be during this time. Try to focus on the holidays and spending time with ur DH.

AFM my OTD is 28th so next Wednesday. It's going too slow. So far no symptoms so don't know what to take on that.

Cityzen74 · 22/12/2016 16:20

Good things sorry to hear about the bfn. It is so disappointing. I hope you can take good care of yourself at this difficult time. Will be thinking of you. I don't know of any private clinics but hopefully you and LoPI can find out some info together.

Mtscrabtree sorry to hear about your scare. It sounds stressful and I hope you and the baby are ok.

Lemon how did you get on today?

Stand good luck for tomorrow

LemonDrizzler · 22/12/2016 18:21

Hi all. Thanks for the good luck messages Smile

goodthings I'm really sorry to hear that. It must be so disappointing. I hope you are feeling ok (as much as can be). Will Christmas be a good distraction or difficult? I hope the former.

liberte 28th seems a long time away. Hope you're not going crazy.

mrscrabtree that sounds awful. Hope you're feeling calmer now. What happened?

stand good luck for tomorrow. V impressive not testing early! Fingers crossed for you.

Today went ok. For some reason the GA made me feel awful - threw up as soon as I woke up. Or retched anyway as hadn't eaten obvs! And been wiped out all day. Hopefully will feel better tomorrow. The procedure itself went well and just a bit achey now but have painkillers.

LoPl and cityzen good luck for your plans for the new year.

liberte12 · 22/12/2016 20:01

Bless you Lemon ur message brought me flashbacks. I had two surgeries to remove a fibroid. Make sure you rest for the next 24 hours at least. Hope you feel better soon. Great that it's been removed and you can move on now.

Sorry Cityzen I forgot to mention you before. Hope ur ok x

LemonDrizzler · 23/12/2016 12:51

It's awful isn't it liberte? I wasn't expecting it for some reason. Feel much better today.

How is everyone? Xx

Cityzen74 · 24/12/2016 08:38

Lemon sorry to hear about your reaction to the GA. Are you feeling a bit better today? Good that you have painkillers but hope you don't need to take them.

Liberte how are you feeling? Do you think you will test early or are you going to wait until your OTD?

Good things how are you feeling today? Thinking of you and LoPI too.

Hope everyone is as well as can be expected. xx

Mrscrabtree hope you're ok now?

Cityzen and LoPI, hope you can enjoy a glass or two tomorrow Wink.

Stand, how did you get on?

AFM I'm doing ok, just trying to get on with things really!

Merry Christmas cycle buddies xxx
