IVF Cycle buddies November/December

I'm due to start the Short Protocol when AF arrives next week and I wondered whether anyone else was in the same situation and would like to join me? I'm pretty nervous about everything so would love to offer some support to others in the same situation and get some advice and support as well. You don't have to be on the Short Protocol of course - any other protocols welcome too!

To introduce myself am 41, been ttc for over 2.5 years and in that time had at least 1 chemical pregnancy and a miscarriage at 6 weeks. We get one chance on the NHS where we live and don't know if we'll be able to afford another go if this doesn't work so am feeling the pressure!

Hi lemon, that's a positive step and at least you have a plan. Will they freeze all from day 1 or do you have to wait till day 5/6? At least you can enjoy Christmas and know you've done the ground work xxx

and lemon it sounds like things are at least moving forward even if there is a bit of a stumbling block between EC and ET.

That's great Goodthings I was thinking of you today!! Awesome that you will have a day 5 transfer!!
Lemon I am at risk of overstimulating too so when they scanned me on thursday they swapped pregnyll for buresilin (however u spell it).
I had EC today and they got 21! Hence the risk of overstimulating. EC went ok, feeling a bit sore, little blood which has calmed down now. I am drinking loads, increased protein so hopefully I won't get OHSS. They told me to inject 1ml of a 5000 powder vial of pregnyll today but guess what I did - injected 2ml!!! Rang the clinic in a mess and they said I shouldn't worry but I have just increased the chance of getting OHSS even further!!!! I am so annoyed with myself now.

Hope everyone is ok, i am off to cry some more.

Liberte, WOW 21 eggs! Well done you! Really hoping you don't get OHSS and lots of eggs fertilise overnight for you. Keeping everything crossed, now rest up and look after yourself xxx

Liberte 21 eggs! Blimey! No wonder you're sore! I hope you don't get OHSS. I didn't realise it affected you after egg collection. How come you were having to inject pregnyll today? I'm really sorry you're worried. I hope all is ok. X

Hope you're feeling ok this morning Liberte. That's incredible on the egg number front!! But keeping fingers crossed for no OHSS and quick recovery for you. Any news on fertilisation?

LoPI how are you feeling? Thiscwaiting is doing my head in. I'm having cramps overnight most days now and don't know if this is a good or bad sign. Also much less constipated (sorry!!) so am worried my progesterone has dropped which may not be a good sign. I know I must not try to guess but it's so hard...

We had only one put back because it's our first proper go and because it was a decent blast. One in the freezer, the other couple didn't develop well enough. I'm keeping my FX for yours! Those 5 have been resilient so far!

hi ladies I'm currently 11dp5dt I POAS on day 9 and got BFN. Iv been to scared to do another test until OTD. The last 3 days iv had brown discharge when I wipe (sorry if tmi) is this too late for implantation bleeding and do you think it's just AF trying to break through but can't because of progesterone?

Hi missJaneo, sorry I can't help but just to let you know on my last cycle AF came before OTD whilst I was still on cyclogest so fingers crossed there is some hope for you. When is OTD? Xx

My OTD is 14th. There's no red or pink in the discharge just brown. There's also not much of it. Just wondering what it is as they say brown blood is old blood

Lemon I hope the trigger shot went well. Don't ask why they told me to inject pregnyl I'm not entirely sure! DH did some research and said it assists with the lining and also if they changed ur trigger shot then its normal they give u some extra stuff to help you along. That's how they pitched it to me anyway I guess I will ask more on Tuesday.

I've been resting since EC, drank loads of water, gatorade, extra protein to try and avoid ohss. They gave me a chart to record how much I drink and how much I wee so I have to remember to put a jug underneath whenever I go to the loo!!

They called me this morning and out of our 21, 11 fertilised! Happy with that result. They will next call me on Tuesday to see if I should have a three day transfer or hopefully wait until Thursday for a five day one. I also have to have blood tests, if they show ohss then all the possible embies only if they make it to day five will be frozen and this cycle will be cancelled.

Stressful times, trying to focus on the positives and not worry about ohss but I'm constantly thinking about it!! DH is also stressed so we make a great pair!!

Wow liberte 11 is amazing! The water, Gatorade and protein sounds like a good plan. Fingers crossed for you. Sorry you're stressed.

Trigger was at 1am which was a bit random. Was ok but made me feel sick. Quite a few twinges today so worried about ovulating before EC but I'm sure that's ridiculous. Not sure why I'm trying to find things to worry about!

Good luck Lemon, don't be too worried, I was really nervous but honestly when it's done u will just be like oh that wasn't so bad. Don't worry about any side effects either. We have put so much into our bodies who knows what's normal and what isn't.

Will be thinking of you both, I'm just gna continue to rest and pray for my embies xx

Wow Liberte, 21 eggs and 11 fertilised. They are some numbers!! Hope you keep OHSS at bay and can move forward with ET. (Measuring your wee sounds v. inconvenient! I'd constantly forget to bring the jug and prob miss!!)

Lemon - good luck with EC. Try not to worry about what's happening in your body now, and just enjoy the injection free day.

MissJaneo - I'm sorry I can't help with your question. I guess the only thing to do is wait it out and test.... it's such a process isn't it!

AFM - Busying myself at work the next five days until test day. Trying to keep calm, body feels very normal....

AFM I just had two blastocysts transferred, the other 3 are still going but not as strong, they said two are moving very slowly but may pick up so will call tomorrow to let me know if any are good enough to freeze. So heading home now to chill/work from home for the afternoon xxx

AFM I'm feeling quite low today. OTD next Sunday still seems so far away. Having quite a lot of cramps too. I'm sure I'll feel more positive tomorrow though. You seem to be coping with all this very well LoPI! I need some of what you've got! X

Mrscrabtree how many days past transfer is your OTD? Mine is 23/12 so only 11dp5dt, is that too early? Xxx

MrsCrabb I'm not sure how I am managing to keep zen. Certainly I think cancelling all social interactions, and just chilling with OH has helped. And as we haven't told anyone, we have no-one asking - I'm very happy about that decision now.

Hi all. Had EC this afternoon and just on way home. Got 11 eggs which I'm really pleased with and DH's sample looked ok apparently. Fingers crossed for the call tomorrow! It wasn't that bad really. Although I did freak out a bit in the room with so many people there and me legs akimbo.

Goodthings yay for having two aboard! Hope you're feeling good. Wishing you a quick and relaxed two weeks if that is possible!

Does anyone know if you can have baths during the 2ww? Last cycle (couple of months ago), I was told no baths, this time they said it's fine to have baths ..... really trying to do everything right! Xxx

Goodthings my OTD is 18 days from EC, so 13dp5dt? I think I might test two days before that tho, so it'd be like yours. Exciting you're in the 2ww too now!
