I'm due to start the Short Protocol when AF arrives next week and I wondered whether anyone else was in the same situation and would like to join me? I'm pretty nervous about everything so would love to offer some support to others in the same situation and get some advice and support as well. You don't have to be on the Short Protocol of course - any other protocols welcome too!

To introduce myself am 41, been ttc for over 2.5 years and in that time had at least 1 chemical pregnancy and a miscarriage at 6 weeks. We get one chance on the NHS where we live and don't know if we'll be able to afford another go if this doesn't work so am feeling the pressure!

OMG mrscrabtree, congratulations that's amazing news, I'm so pleased for you. So have clinic said what's next?
What a lovely Christmas pressie xxxx

Mrscrabtree · 16/12/2016 14:04

Thanks guys. Of course I'm really happy, and although it's hard to shake off my longstanding assumption that things will go wrong, I'm trying to just enjoy the moment.

I haven't told clinic yet because my OTD is Sunday! I suppose I'll call them on Monday all being well. They said at transfer that if I got a positive result next step would be scan at beginning of Jan.

Liberte the only thing I've had is cramping at night, nothing else. No bleeding, no sore boobs, no funny sense of smell or anything else you read about. I feel normal and hoping that's ok xx

jade2629 · 16/12/2016 15:54

Hi ladies hope you don't mind me joining in I started my ivf cycle back in November, let me give a bit of back ground
I had 2 day 5 early blasts put back on 5th December, at 8dp5dt I caved and tested and it showed and very very faint line so I tested again at 9dp and again I got a positive and it was darker but I started to bleed that evening very heavy with horrible cramps the next day (10dp5dt) I woke to no cramps but the heavy bleeding was still there I tested again and still got a bfp and now it comes to today (11dp5dt)the bleeding is starting to ease up and is not as heavy I tested this morning and I got a positive but I think it is a little bit lighter then yesterday's. I have never had this before and the nurse has told me to just keep testing till tomorrow and then I need to call them Monday and go from there any help would be much appreciated xx

Jade - never been in that situation but it might be that one of ur blasts didn't make it and the other did? I've read of that happening to people who have had two embies transferred, then started bleeding and thought it was over but tests showed they were pregnant. An early scan and blood test showed pregnancy with one so it might be worth following ur nurses advice and getting a scan asap. All the best to you and hope you get good news xx

jade2629 · 16/12/2016 16:11

Thanks Hun unfortunately the nurse at my clinic said that they won't scan me while I'm still bleeding and they won't do any blood tests till next week after my official test date(tomorrow) xx

LemonDrizzler · 16/12/2016 17:30

LemonDrizzler · 17/12/2016 10:51

Hello. How is everyone?

I seem to have started my period. On day 18 of my cycle and 10 days early?! Is that normal/something to do with all the drugs? We dtd last night for the first time since EC so hopefully it's not that?

Goodthingscome2those · 17/12/2016 12:27

Hi lemon, hope you're ok? Sorry I've never been in situation when not had ET after EC but with failed cycle period usually comes around the right time (for me anyway), is it a full AF or just slight bleeding?

Jade, how's things today?

Liberte, stand and mrscrabtree how you feeling?

LoPI, hope you're looking after yourself.

AFM AF pains seem to be getting worse so really just waiting for her to show ...... xxx

liberte12 · 17/12/2016 13:10

Lemon I'm not sure, did the clinic say when you would get AF?

Goodthings when is OTD? What sort of symptoms are you getting? I've heard people say they think AF is coming and end up getting a BFP so don't worry. How many days has it been since ET?

AFM I'm really struggling. I'm 2dp5dt and I think it's all over because I haven't had any signs of implantation yet. I just think it hasn't worked and driving myself and DH mad. :(

LemonDrizzler · 17/12/2016 13:27

mrscrabtree like liberte said lots of people seem to get cramps like that so it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Not helpful I know. The second guessing must be horrendous. Similarly liberte you can't rule yourself out already! I thought most people had no implantation symptoms?

I rang clinic and they said the buserelin trigger can mean your period comes a few days after EC. Not sure why they didn't tell me that! Prob need to cancel the polyp appointment now as presumably he will want to examine me.

Hope everyone else is ok. X

Goodthingscome2those · 17/12/2016 16:07

OTD is next Friday (23rd), so far I am 5dp5dt and getting pretty bad cramps and just feel AF will show at any point!

Liberte at 2dp5dt I was exactly the same as you and drove myself insane!

Keeping fingers crossed for us all xxx

liberte12 · 17/12/2016 16:29

I think that sounds good Goodthings. Mrscrabtree said she got cramps too so hopefully this is a good sign for you.

Thanks Lemon I can't help it. I have drove myself mad and keep thinking it hasn't worked.

Mrscrabtree · 17/12/2016 18:07

Yes don't rule yourselves out yet Goodthings and liberte! I've had cramps all the way through but nothing else, no particular implantation signs. I drove myself mad too though and was convinced it hadn't worked so I can hardly talk. Keeping busy I think is the only thing to do.

Hope you're ok Lemon, and Stand & Jade, and thinking of you LoPI and Cityzen xxx

LemonDrizzler · 17/12/2016 18:15

Sorry I meant goodthings when I wrote mrscrabtree! Fingers crossed for you.

Goodthingscome2those · 17/12/2016 20:32

Thanks ladies, trying to stay positive and see it as s good sign but so weary especially as it just feels the same as last cycle. Sorry to drag thread down.

Hope everyone is ok and looking after themselves xxx

liberte12 · 17/12/2016 20:42

Don't worry Goodthings think I brought it down to. X

LemonDrizzler · 17/12/2016 20:59

You haven't brought it down that's what we're here for! I hope you are finding things to take your mind off the waiting.

Cityzen74 · 18/12/2016 09:26

LoPI I am really sorry to hear about your BFN. This must be a really hard time for you. I hope you are able to take care of yourself and I just wanted to send you my best wishes for whatever your next step is. Do stay in touch with us.

Mrs Crabtree congratulations! Hope you are feeling well and best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy.

Good things. As others have said you haven't brought the thread down at all. We are here for support however you are feeling. I hope you are feeling a bit more positive today. I have read a lot of threads where people feel as though AF is on her way and then they get BFPs. I really hope this is the case for you.

Lemon sorry about your AF. I wouldn't think you necessarily have to cancel your appointment. Could you ring up and find out?

Liberte hope you are feeling a bit more positive too. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Jade all best wishes for your official test date. Let us know how you get on.

Stand how are you feeling?

Afm I am on holiday at the moment. We'd booked this to give us some relaxation towards the end of the 2ww but instead we are doing lots of walking but some relaxing too! Just looking forward to appointment in a couple of weeks and then new cycle at end of Jan. Of course we have also been ttc and my dh is convinced it has worked. I am very realistic and keep telling him not to get his hopes up as it would be extremely unlikely especially after all this time trying!

Goodthingscome2those · 18/12/2016 14:50

Cityzen lovely to hear from you and that you seem to be doing well, good to hear you're enjoying a break and fingers crossed for ttc naturally!

Thanks for your kind and reassuring words ladies, let's see what the next few days bring!

How's everyone feeling? When are OTDs? Am I next to test (Friday)?

Xxxx

LoPl · 18/12/2016 17:59

MrsCrabb - wonderful news!! so pleased of you.
Everyone else - hang on it there. I have my fingers crossed for you.
Cityzen - thanks for the thoughts. It has been a difficult couple of days.... I think we are going to take a leaf out of your book, and go on a mini holiday early Jan. Get ourselves in a better head space before we go forward with another round.

liberte12 · 18/12/2016 20:17

Goodthings my OTD is 28th which is 18dpo but I'm gna do it earlier coz I just can't wait that long.
I've had no symptoms no cramping. I'm not even having my normal bitch fits. It's so hard to remain positive right now.
I need advice!! We are going to a few family houses over the hols and I don't know what to do about the progesterone injection! DH has to give it me coz it's in the backside so he suggested coming home but we live too far away and it will raise too many questions. Anyone know any other illnesses apart from diabetes where an injection is required so I can say we just need five minutes in the bathroom to take it?

Goodthingscome2those · 19/12/2016 06:53

Liberte, I'd see that as a good thing if it doesn't resemble any of your monthly signs, keeping everything crossed for you! When you planning on testing? As for injecting I can't help with illnesses, is there no way you could practise and do it on yourself when out?

I've been so emotional last night and this morning so I'm pretty sure on the outcome but let's wait and see!

Hope everyone else is doing ok? Xxx

Standfree83 · 19/12/2016 10:50

Hi everyone,

I've been having loads of cramps and AF symptoms too. Sounds quite simikar to what your having Goodthings. Really hoping that AF won't show. Had a bit of bleeding this morning so not sure if this is AF showing her evil head. My OTD is Friday too. These next 5 days are going to take forever I feel.

My head is all over the place trying to analyse everything but OH is being amazing and keeping positive and scouring the Internet in an attempt to keep me away from any 'scare stories'.

Lemon- are you still going ahead with polyp removal or do you have to wait due to AF?

How's everyone else this morning? Xx
