I'm on 2nd cycle of clomid (50mg CD2-6) and am on CD7 now - anyone else out there the same?!

No it's still NHS. I know I'm really lucky to be getting help second time round. Yeah it might be depending on what they see. I'll find out soon enough!

Yeah my DH has really good swimmers too so I thought we could just do it a few times before the scan just to be on the safe side and then time it properly depending on what they see. I only get positives in a morning normally because I drink loads of water during the day so my wee is too dilute by afternoon!

Will you get a pregnancy scan through your clinic? The consultant said I'd get one at 6 and 9 weeks if I fall pregnant with them. Such a relief because I found the first 12 weeks an absolute killer last time. Have you considered the twins possibility or did you not have another egg that looked likely to pop?

Congratulations Tata that's great news!

Doomkittycleo not long now. I'm currently expecting to start my first cycle on Clomid next week as I'm coming to the end of my 2WW.

But, I'm not sure what's going on with this cycle. I had an HSG test on cd7, had a positive OPK within a few days and so DTD a couple of times around it. I got a very faint BFP on a FRER test on Friday (cd21) - probably shouldn't have tested then but wanted to know if I could have a couple of drinks at a work evening out. I was very happy to forego the booze! But... I tested again yesterday and today (again with FRER tests and first morning wee) and both were BFNs. I'm thinking it was either a false positive, but how likely is that? Or could it have been a chemical pregnancy? I had some cramps on Friday and Saturday in my side (not painful, just pulling). If the latter, I'm not sure what that means for my next cycle and whether to start the Clomid or not.

Grateful for any thoughts if anyone has any ideas...

I'm pretty excited jelly but also a bit nervous. How long have you been trying? We're at the 2 year mark in January so really hoping clomid works for us. We are also about to move in to a new house any day now so exciting times.

Anyone heard the old wives tale, "new house new baby". I keep telling DP that we will need to "christen" every room in the house by practicing lol.

Jelly I didn't think you could get false positives, unless it was an evaporation line or a chemical, let us know what happens.

jellyella · 06/11/2016 10:50

We've been trying for 18mths now so just a bit less than you doom. Fingers crossed for the new house - we've moved in the last year and it was stressful, so probably didn't help all the TTCing!

AF due tomorrow so - assuming it turns up as I'm now expecting it to - that might help this cycle become clearer. And then onto the Clomid!

LittleFox10 · 06/11/2016 11:41

We also moved house in April and buying our first property was exciting but stressful as I did all the paperwork side of things with not much help from the other half "because he didn't understand it" but I was meant too :/ finally got there in the end though. We've been trying since our loss for just over 2 years! I'm really hoping this Clomid will work and we have a sticky bean for Christmas!

Just wondering how old everyone is? I'm 24 xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 06/11/2016 15:52

Just hopped on to say congrats to tata, glad 1st round was successful.

I'm 28, 29 in 2 weeks.

MmmMalbec · 06/11/2016 17:43

I'm 29!

tatatetelle · 06/11/2016 19:23

Ah thanks youboggle 😊
I am 28 as well.

doomkittycleo · 07/11/2016 06:41

I'm 29

CatVO · 07/11/2016 10:00

tatatetelle massive congrats on your news - that's really encouraging to hear. Wishing you all the best.

I'm mid way through my second round of Clomid. This time we're trying 5 days on 100mg directly followed by 5 days on 50mg. FTS booked this Friday to see if that's done the trick. Last round I did 5 days 50mg, then another 5 days 50mg with a week in between, but pretty much no response.

I'm 30...not use to being one of the older ones in a group :D

CatVO · 07/11/2016 10:03

tata can I ask, do you have pcos or was there another reason you were on clomid?

tatatetelle · 07/11/2016 16:23

Thanks Cat! No I was on Clomid only for pcos.

How are you feeling so far?

doomkittycleo · 07/11/2016 18:11

littlefox it's not our first house. We both have houses to sell, but I'm not selling mine till January. I rent it out at the moment. This will be the first house we own as a couple.

Even more stressful as we have to make sure our buyers are at the same point we are.

DP is doing my head in cus he's fed up of me talking about it all the time. Men don't seem to get our nesting instinct 😕.

Figroller · 07/11/2016 18:30

Hi, wondering if I could join?

I'm just finishing my second cycle on clomid and got my day 21 blood test results which indicate I didn't ovulate as my progesterone was 27. So waiting for AF and then been told to increase to 150 mg.

I'm a bit confused as had regular scans and there was 3 large follicles, they even had to check if I was ok to continue due to the risk of multiple pregnancy! Then at scan on cd 16 the nurse said she could see they had ruptured. So I wonder what's going wrong?

tatatetelle · 07/11/2016 19:12

Hi Fig, welcome ☺ Did you speak to your consultant about this? I think it's worth understanding, just so you don't wonder for days - there is nothing worse than not knowing I find!

Doom I hear you, my dh was like that as well, if it's any consolation the day after my bfp he was joking about names, which he never would have done before. I think men struggle to project themselves like we do until it actually happens, and also they are not hormonal messes...

Figroller · 07/11/2016 19:31

Congratulations on your bfp tataSmile

No I didn't ask, I received the results via phone from one of the nurses. Will have to ask when I start the scans again.

CatVO · 07/11/2016 19:35

I'm feeling ok thanks tatatetelle. Definitely felt tired this round where I didn't at all last round, but I guess that could be down to a number of things. And a couple of twinges, but I don't really read much into that. Just trying to stay sane waiting for Friday to come and find out what's happening.

Hello Fig welcome to the group. I'm on my second round now, so just behind you. That's a shame to hear they are saying you haven't ovulated after what sounds like a promising start. Agree with tata about asking your consultant if you haven't yet.

doomkittycleo · 07/11/2016 20:16

Welcome fig!!!

LittleFox10 · 08/11/2016 06:52

Oh Doom that does sound stressful! I am so glad it was our first purchase! I'm not looking forward to when we want to sell and buy another though. However we bought a house big enough for a family so shouldn't be for years yet!

Welcome Fig!

Tata which opks did you use? Xxx

tatatetelle · 08/11/2016 07:20

I used some cheapies from Amazon but doubled with some clearblue after the scan, I didn't want to miss our window! 😂

Cat twinges are good! It probably means your follies are growing. Can you usually feel what's going on? I can feel everything so when I oved it felt like someone was slowly blowing a balloon in my ovaries, very very weird feeling.

MmmMalbec · 08/11/2016 08:05

Fig could your blood tests have been on the wrong day? My consultant said to me that if they're a day out either way it will affect the result because progesterone rises, peaks and then falls, so you might have got it on the rise or the fall? Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, I've not even started my clomid yet so I might be mistaken in how they pinpoint OV for sure.

I had my positive OPK yesterday so I'll probably start my clomid at the end of next week Grin

Was the feeling of OV uncomfortable Tata?

LittleFox10 · 08/11/2016 08:14

Thanks Tata. I ordered the clear blue one, so I'm hoping it will help this month. Did you use them going by the cycle length/day of cycle ? Sorry for all the question xxx

tatatetelle · 08/11/2016 14:34

No worries LittleFox please ask away. I had a scan on cd11, my consultant saw a 20mm follicle, and one slightly smaller, so she said I would ovulate within the next few days and I started testing then until I got a clear full on smiley positive on clear blue.

Mm ov was uncomfortable for me, but I think I'm particularly sensitive, I feel absolutely everything that's going on in my cycle.

Figroller · 08/11/2016 18:31

Thank you for the welcome.

Mmmm yes blood tests could have been on the wrong day, we just guessed ov day based on the pains I felt inbetween scans - which were quite bad considering I probably did not ovulate.

What cd are you on now Cat? Have you finished your clomid for round 2 yet?

I have started spotting now so no doubt AF will be here tomorrow, have to ring tomorrow to book first ft scan. I bet they are sick of seeing me! This is my third cycle in a row I've had to be scanned because I haven't responded and because I have short cycles they scan me 2-3 times per week so seems like I'm always there.

I'm a bit nervous about taking the 150 mg I had some hot flushes with the 100 mg and lots of twinges and pains. Does anyone else get side effects?

I might try the clearblue opk this time as well little fox, don't seem to have much luck with the cheapies.

CatVO · 08/11/2016 19:16

I'm on CD9 at the moment Fig. I still have 2 more days of my 10 day Clomid round. Then a FT scan the day after (Friday). I know they say you should ov about 5-9 days after last clomid, but I don't know if that's the same when you do 10 days, or if it's 5-9 days after the 5th tablet. We shall see!

I haven't really had any symptoms, apart from this round I've felt quite tired and had a couple of hot flushes/twinges but I don't know whether that's the clomid or something else. Hopefully when you go up to 150mg it won't be any worse than the 100!

I don't think the Dr is keen to put me on 150 if this round doesn't work. He wants to move on to ovarian drilling already :-/
