I'm on 2nd cycle of clomid (50mg CD2-6) and am on CD7 now - anyone else out there the same?!

Yes KP although it's not particularly heavy yet (which I thought it would be considering the length of cycle). I wouldn't be able to get through to my doctor until Monday and even then she's very flippant. Supposed to take it day 2. Just done a bit of googling and it seems that some doctors actually prescribe it twice in a month.

Footy1 · 20/03/2017 09:16

Day 39 here! Wasn't a clomid cycle though so looking like I haven't ovulated. Totally sucks! Starting the AF pills if by Wednesday nothing!

Kp I'm so sorry to hear what u are going through. Really annoying when things don't go to plan and we have no idea what has been going on. From what I have been told by my doctor was that clomid rarely causes miscarriages. Think it's slightly risky if taken when in second trimester with increase in birth defects reported and miscarriages then.

Kt sounds like your cycle needs resetting to start again like mine. You can bleed through ovulation and clomid can cause spotting after ovulation so would be really hard to tell unless you are temping or had a scan to tell. Do u know if u def ovulated? Because u had taken the first lot without AF you may have been v close to ovulation anyway so as soon as u started taking it within few days u would have ovulated so bleeding 17 days after might suggest you did ovulate very early say day 3? Which would make this right.

I think I'd be more inclined to request some AF pills to bring it on do u can start afresh. Not sure about double dosing on clomid in the same cycle. But if u think u may have ovulated very early, and that u definitely are bleeding like AF bleeding then maybe you have just started a new cycle.

That's really reassuring to hear, Footy. I've been blaming myself a bit, even though I had no idea if/that I was pregnant and all that...

Ktmp · 20/03/2017 21:02

Thanks for the reply Footy.

To be honest I have no idea if I ovulate and I'm so confused over actual bleeding now that I don't even know what day I'm on. After the negative at day 49 (which had never happened before) I started the Clomid and called it day 2. This was with no bleeding on doctors orders. Now I have more like period bleeding (but really not heavy enough considering) and am currently "day 3" since taking the Clomid. Doctor was very clear I didn't need provera etc and there's been no mention of scanning or extra bloods. My last progesterone test (in october) was 27 which was still under her target 30 but was better than the 2 I had in July. Really don't know what to think now. I've finally started using my clear blue monitor as I've had a bleed so will hopefully be able to track more effectively using this. I do temp (they've been high for over a week with no drop but I am fighting a cold so that may have thrown it). My opks are just internet cheapies until I'm on clear blue and I've not had a positive for weeks. Hmm

KP86 · 20/03/2017 21:28

KTMP, are you on day 3 (ie. still taking clomid) or day 9, ie. 3 days after finishing clomid?

Either way, ~I~ probably wouldn't double up, and just ride out this cycle and monitor for OV using the OPKs.

Still can't quite believe your doctor wouldn't give you provera. Seems a waste of a cycle really.

Ktmp · 20/03/2017 22:22

I'm on day 3 of a new cycle (An actual cycle this time as I've on AF). After I got to day 49 I started on 100mg Clomid that day which was 1st March. On 18th March AF started so took next cycle of Clomid as directed by doctor. No idea where I'm up to. Confused

Footy1 · 27/03/2017 13:05

Hi everyone. Anyone with any news?

Ktmp any clue to where u are? Have u had any advice from gp? Did u take another round of Clomid?
I'm kinda in the same boat cd46!! And bfn and no AF!

Ktmp · 27/03/2017 17:25

Well I took the Clomid as advises so technically now day 10. First month using the clear blue monitor and I had low readings day 6 and 7 and high readings on day 8, 9 and 10. No peak yet but I was pleased it showed high! If I ignore the first round of 100mg (to start a new cycle) I ended up on day 66 before AF came. Really feel for you Footy. Never happened to me before, I had the opposite problem.

What's the longest cycle you've had?

Footy1 · 28/03/2017 17:56

I've had up to 60 days before! But only when I first come off pill a year ago. Then it was varied 25days to 35days. Usually I get quite a few ovulation pains or attempted ovulation but I haven't.

Called the doctor about what to do and she advised to just take the clomid if I've done a pregnancy test - which I have bfn! Says one month of extra lining is fine as clomid makes it thinner anyway. Took the clomid.. so I'm back in the game hopefully! Taking metformin also so let's see what this combo can do.. fingers crossed.

How's everyone doing? Anyone testing soon?

KP86 · 28/03/2017 20:30

Footy, I must have missed it, did you have a really heavy cycle as well?

I'm on CD23 from the start of the massive bleed but no idea if/when I ovulated as I haven't tracked using OPKs and no clomid this month anyway. I may have OV about a week ago. Maybe. But really don't know!

I'm just curious to see how long my cycle ends up being. Hopefully around 9 months ;)

Footy1 · 29/03/2017 07:45

Had a normal flow AF at the end of last cycle (which wasn't clomid) on cd28. The tests were definitely snowy white bfn.

The hot flushes kicked in really bad this time last night. Kept me awake all night long. Ugh. I'm fed up of waiting for it to happen.

I've read loads on the long cycle thread before about people getting bfp at 60plus days and one even at cd72! Just think the ovulation will eventually happen just might be awhile.

Ktmp · 29/03/2017 10:05

I've read those bfp stories too Footy. Drove me insane on my long cycle! It was my second month without Clomid (in between appointment when I went from 50mg to 100mg) and the response from the doctor was "well you're irregular it happens" even though it had never happened to me.

Clear blue monitor is still saying high, now day 12. Praying for a peak soon! Confused

Footy1 · 29/03/2017 13:48

Yep my gp just says the same. Irregular cycles. Really frustrating. Shame there's not something to make u ovulate naturally.
I've tried Angus castus - helped a bit. Interesting I stopped taking it and now I lost a period.

Ktmp · 29/03/2017 15:18

I bought Angus castus and went to take it when I was on my really long cycle but it said not to take if you were pregnant or trying to get pregnant so I didn't take it! All so confusing.

Ktmp · 29/03/2017 15:49

This is the one I bought....

Clomid anyone else?
Clomid anyone else?
Footy1 · 29/03/2017 16:26

Yes I had those too- they are fine. I showed the fertility gynaecologist the packet. It's more incase u don't know if you are pregnant and taking them on a regular basis.

A lot of herbals say these warnings.

Ktmp · 29/03/2017 18:11

Ah ok! Wish I'd taken them now!

Footy1 · 30/03/2017 14:33

Day 4 of clomid for me today.. nothing to report ! Not even a twinge!

How everyone else?

penguinsandotters · 30/03/2017 18:43

Hi

Can I join in please? I've just signed up to mumsnet and have just about got a grip on the abbreviations etc. Am desperately needing some support as I feel like I'm going crazy. A brief history - I'm 38 and my DH is 41. We are TTC #1, never been pregnant before, no other children. Been trying for 15 months+. Had some tests done and currently under fertility consultant. I dont have PCOS but I'm not ovulating, D21 progesterone 0.2 or undetectable. Just had AMH result back this week and told its low for my age, think it was 4. So desperately running out of time. Currently on cycle 1 of clomid 100mg. Its CD25 today and I'm really hoping for my BFP but took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. My cycles are usually 28-30 days so hoping that I could still get a BFP. However D21 progesterone this cycle was 25 which is better than before but my consultant said needed to be >30 to definitely indicate ovulation. Am I out then? I don't have many symptoms - very emotional and bit crampy today but expecting AF so can't tell the difference! Argh. This has been the longest 2WW!

Footy1 · 30/03/2017 21:20

Hi penguin, I was on a different thread before this one and two ladies got their bfp with d21 prog test at only 20, so that's not a bad score. Did u get FSH test?
I'm 39, so know how u feel about time ticking.
I have irregular periods with some months not ovulating. Do u get periods?
And gave you recently stopped the pill contraception? Reason I ask as they think it's why I have irregular periods.

penguinsandotters · 30/03/2017 22:31

Hi footy, I have regular periods but just not ovulating based on multiple D21 progesterone tests (all

KP86 · 31/03/2017 07:38

Penguin, clomid can mess with your emotions. I'm usually pretty good but one cycle made me so irrational and short tempered.

The symptom spotting is crazy. You can't help yourself, every little thing and you turn to google! Doesn't help that PMS and pregnancy tend to have a lot of the same symptoms.

Hide your tests if you need to or at least don't keep them in the bathroom so you might 'forget' to wee into a cup first thing and then you have to wait until the next day.

accidentalgrownup · 31/03/2017 08:15

Sorry I've not been around much lately....had more or less given up (round 5) then thought I'd test this morn as I'm supposed to be going on a hen do tomorrow. Can not actually believe it.... BFP!!!!!!! Makes me 4 weeks & 3 days according to my app. DH is away for another week so I'm trying not to break the news until then 😁😁😁

penguinsandotters · 31/03/2017 08:23

kp86 thanks for the support Smile

KP86 · 31/03/2017 09:31
