I'm on 2nd cycle of clomid (50mg CD2-6) and am on CD7 now - anyone else out there the same?!

I am temping and this month seems to be the first one where there's no clear indication of ovulation. I'm not sure how much I trust it though as I make sure I do it first thing when I wake up and it's been all over the place. Had a big drop this morning and was hoping for either af or a positive opk but got neither!

Footy1 · 25/02/2017 15:11

I too haven't had much indication either with ovulation yet. I'm off clomid this cycle until I'm settled with metformin so will see what happens. As if ttc isn't stressful enough without not knowing when u have ovulated or not. I'm finding it so frustrating!
So this time last year I stopped pill and still no baby Sad

KP86 · 25/02/2017 15:31

I've read (can't remember if this thread or another) that clomid can really screw with OV signals, whether that be temp or hormone surges using OPKs. PCOS is a total bitch for that kind of thing.

Footy1 · 25/02/2017 16:22

Yes I agree, my temps go up and down the whole cycle on clomid. I got cramps every other week, and opks positive every other week! Lol so no chance.
However this cycle my temps remaining low, and I've not seen a positive opk yet. Cd16 today. Tingly boobs today though.. fingers crossed.

Yes me too also... forgot to add that to list.

Hope I will just hit the jackpot by every other day cd8-28!

Astoria7974 · 25/02/2017 19:15

Ye agree. I stopped temping/opks etc when I started clomid. I just have sex every other day from the end of my period.

Ktmp · 26/02/2017 15:17

I think I'm just going to take the clomid on day 49 if negative hpt. Now on day 46 and no sign of AF. Last negative was two days ago. I've not had clomid since my November cycle and never experienced any issues apart from a bit of mid cycle spotting. Getting so frustrated that I just want a normal af so I can start the next three rounds. Also bought the clearblue fertility monitor in January and have been waiting to start using it! So frustrating!

Guddi17 · 28/02/2017 13:40

Hi everyone, further to my last post about long cycle with clomid. My cycle last for almost 60days. Now on 2nd round with clomid. Having scan for monitoring. Today had my second scan and 2 follicles can be seen. Cd 13 follicle size 20mm. Didn't get my big O in either test or temp.
Wondering what's happening
Next scan is on Thursday. Anyone has got same situation like me.

KP86 · 28/02/2017 17:20

Good luck, Guddi! I never had any scans so I don't know what's 'good' in terms of results.

I'm on CD28 and did my first test today, negative. I think I'm about 10dpo, but I actually can't quite remember! I guess we'll see over the next week.

Ktmp · 28/02/2017 19:13

No scans for me either!

Cd48 for me today, last negative was yesterday on an Internet cheapie. Decided to use my clearblue tomorrow morning and if negative wait until next period due before taking the 100mg clomid.

Fingers crossed for you KP!

KP86 · 28/02/2017 19:39

Thanks ktmp. I don't have a great feeling, I suspect we missed O, but some things have changed in my personal situation which means my 'deadline' to be pregnant by this month doesn't matter as much and so I'm not as worried about it all. All positive! :)

Ktmp · 28/02/2017 20:28

I've had many 'deadlines' unfortunately, now I'm just at the stage of whenever it (hopefully) happens I'll be so happy I won't care about timing!

bummymummy77 · 01/03/2017 11:38

Today is a year since my last miscarriage so feeling a bit Sad. Really thought I'd be pregnant by now.

KP86 · 01/03/2017 11:45

Oh, bummy. I'm sorry to hear that.

Given how difficult many of us find it to get pregnant it really can be a kick in the guts to hear about accidental (and sometimes unwanted) pregnancies.

Fingers crossed for you.

accidentalgrownup · 01/03/2017 12:34

AF arrived yesterday for me....onto round 5 (of 6) ☹️

Ktmp · 01/03/2017 17:49

Gutted for you bummy. I was set on being married before getting pregnant but started to ease up on my rules and tried since we got engaged. Nearly two years later and nothing Sad

Day 49 for me today, another bfn. Decided to stop waiting and follow doctors orders and have taken my first day of 100mg. Really hope this works.

KP86 · 01/03/2017 17:55

This will be the one, accidentalgrownup

satsoooma · 02/03/2017 09:39

Hi everyone. I posted a while back, but have not been around much since. I am 31 and TTC#1 for 18 months now.

AF arrived this morning and I am gutted as I really felt like we did everything right this month and got all the timings perfectly.

I am definitely ovulating on 500mg (on at least 3/4 cycles), but am starting to feel a bit panicky that clomid is still not going to work for us. I am going to start round 5 (of 6) of tomorrow.

KP86 · 02/03/2017 09:39

Tested this morning on CD30, it was negative. Haven't had any symptoms either way, except quite a bit of CM, but that's basically been for the whole month so far.

It's silly, but if I'm not pregnant this month I will put it off for a couple of months to avoid a Christmas baby. I know it's a bit presumptuous, but I don't want to actively try for a due date in Dec/Jan.

KP86 · 02/03/2017 09:43

What's next for you satsooma if clomid doesn't work? Do you know?

satsoooma · 02/03/2017 09:50

I don't know KP8 and I am actually finding that very stressful. Is it two more cycles of clomid, one of IVF and then the NHS gives up on me, or are there other things I can try?

I am going to phone my clinic today and book an appointment to talk about that, but if anyone can tell me what sort of treatments might be available, that would really help in the meantime.

I was talking with DH this morning about how we'll have a Christmas baby if this next cycles works. I was a bit concerned about that last year, but at this point I am way beyond caring about birthdays.

accidentalgrownup · 02/03/2017 10:06

I was thinking that KP, DH & I both have Jan bdays & it's a bit pants tbh. I'm taking this month as (potential) due date will be early Dec. Our DC has a summer bday & it's does make things nicely spaced out with presents etc....although doesn't guarantee an outside party it's rained for the last few years!!!

Footy1 · 02/03/2017 12:49

I use to try and plan as I thought I would fall straight away, but is obviously not the case. Started trying this time last year so now I just don't care about avoiding certain times as I think my biological clock is against me.
I'm 39.

As for other treatments satsooma, think iui and ivf would be next. Unless you have anything going on with your hormones? I was prescribed metformin to try alongside clomid for 2 cycles so I'm just starting out on metformin. I haven't got pcos or diabetes, apparently it helps sensitise the ovaries.
I will tell u though the side effects are brutal!! Never felt so ill. Feel sick everyday and cannot eat any sugar or fat otherwise I'm puking! I don't qualify for any other treatment.

Sorry for AF arrivals, and mc's. Really is hard work all this ttc. We can only keep trying, positives for next cycle for us all.

satsoooma · 02/03/2017 13:29

Hi Footy. I do have PCOS, so my GP put me on metformin by itself before referring me to a fertility clinic. It made me so sick! I couldn't look at carbs and was projectile vomiting all over.

I don't think i will be prescribed it to take alongside clomid because 1) my fertility clinic doctor was horrified that I had been given it at all given that I was not overweight at the time 2) the clomid seems to be working fine by itself - as I am ovulating on quite a low dose, just not getting pregnant.

I am hoping there is another step before IVF, as we only get one round where I live. If I only have three more cycles of NHS treatment left (2 clomid, 1 IVF), then that is pretty terrifying.
