Good luck KP!!!

Is anyone in the 2ww like me?

I was just wondering if there's been any twins or multiples on this thread yet?? I'm guessing they warned you ladies of the increased chance too?

jellyella · 17/02/2017 22:12

Hi accidental - I'm in the 2ww with you... Cd22 on last lot of Clomid (third cycle). Fingers crossed for us and everyone else... And good luck kp too!

Footy1 · 19/02/2017 14:59

Don't think anyone's had twins yet accidental. Although I know of 3 friends who took it and all have twins.
They were all on 100mg.

So I've been put on metformin to take with clomid.. and omg I feel so sick. They said I might not be responding to clomid well as I ovulate on and off and last time quite late so they want to see if this will help. I have 2 packets of clomid left so going to stick with the sickness all day just hope it works. Anyone else on this?

Hey Kp I've had 2days of EWCM so hoping to ovulate soon. Will check temps in the morning. Think I'm cd10.

Footy1 · 19/02/2017 15:00

Good luck 2ww ladies xx

KP86 · 19/02/2017 15:03

CD19 now and we are still DTD regularly but I think the window has probably passed. I have a good feeling about this month, but I generally do every month so who knows! I've been quite busy and not as obsessed about DTD as often and I've got my fingers crossed.

I've never been prescribed metformin, although I think my DSis has, but I'm sure eventually she needed clomid as well. I do sometimes wonder if metformin would help me generally in life, balance out the hormones etc.

Good luck to all, especially those in the 2ww. Mine is about to start, and I need to try to wait until at least CD30 to test.

bummymummy77 · 19/02/2017 18:43

Good luck KP!

Hello! I really need some advice if any of you lovely ladies could help me?

Already tried 50mg clomid for three cycles last year without success. Had my check up with gynae on 1st Feb and was prescribed 100mg to start as before on days 2-6 of my next cycle. Problem is my next cycle isn't showing up!! Had brown spotting cd16-17 then some more cd25-29 but definitely not a period. Had a complete panic thinking I'd missed my new cycle. Two hpt on cd30 and cd34 both negative. Requested bloods on cd37 (awaiting results) and spoke to gynae who just said to test on cd42 then again on cd49 and if negative just take the clomid. Having Googled my brains out Confused I'm now panicking that I could be pregnant and taking the clomid without a real period is really bad?!!! What would you do? Consultant I saw was completely dismissive and just kept telling me that if I didn't get a positive by cd49 it wasn't going to happen, but now I also keep thinking, what if it does whilst I'm waiting?!

Aaarrrrggghhhhhh!!!! Hmm

Footy1 · 19/02/2017 23:05

KT I was given norethisterone to take for 5 days and then stop which will induce period when I got to 40 days with negative preg test. You can take clomid without period but it works better having shed lining. Sometimes body gears up to ovulation but for some reason doesn't happen and it will keep on trying so by taking clomid without knowing which cycle day you're on it might make u ovulate too early.
If u were preg the norethisterone (which is progesterone) will not bring on period.

Ktmp · 20/02/2017 05:43

Thanks for your reply Footy1. My consultant is not helpful at all and just kept shrugging when I said what if there's a chance. She said if it's negative by cd49 there's no chance! Can't see me getting any further with her at all. So disheartened - first wedding anniversary today, cd40 and negative. Sad

KP86 · 20/02/2017 10:11

KTMP, I would have expected them to induce a bleed before taking clomid as well. Can you insist?

Ktmp · 20/02/2017 11:13

I really don't think so. She pretty much laughed in my face when I went on Friday. I had a blood test at my GP and explained to the nurse what was happening. She told me to ring gynae urgently and see what they say. Consultant's secretary put me on the afternoon clinic and I thought I might get some answers. Went in and she just looked fake sympathetically at me and just said test at cd42 then 49 then take clomid if negative.

Ktmp · 20/02/2017 12:55

This was her note!

Clomid anyone else?
Clomid anyone else?
KP86 · 20/02/2017 17:02

That seems shit. I'm sorry, can you see another doctor for a second opinion?

Ktmp · 21/02/2017 06:42

Wouldn't have thought so. Rang GP for blood results yesterday and usually the receptionist takes great pride in pretending she's a doctor and tells you what they are, yesterday she told me the doctor needed to go through them and I had to ring back today.
Think I'm just going to ride it out and wait for an actual AF before starting the clomid. More worried that I could actually conceive whilst waiting (and DTD is not starring anything either).

KP86 · 21/02/2017 06:59

Maybe you are already pregnant and that's what the doctor needs to talk to you about?

Fingers crossed it's positive news.

Ktmp · 21/02/2017 13:13

I'd be so happy if that were the case but the way it's going I'm far from hopeful. I have a serious googling problem and have found other people with every possible outcome! The last one I found had negative bloods, hospital visits and bronchitis and ended up with a positive at day 57!! Shock

bummymummy77 · 21/02/2017 14:05

Well I'll remain hopeful for you!

Footy1 · 21/02/2017 15:15

I would save the clomid personally. We only get a limited chance anyway so the fact your lining will be very thick at day 40 you could be wasting it. Or like I said before .. your body would be desperately wanting to ovulate by day 40 if u haven't already so as soon as you take the clomid your follicles may already be ready to pop so will trigger them to do so early.

Ktmp · 21/02/2017 15:17

I've decided I won't use it until I'm actually having af. Bloods were negative. Still getting spotting but nowhere near enough to even fill the thin liner.

Ktmp · 23/02/2017 11:12

OK so now I'm having a confidence crisis. Read too many blogs where women haven't actually ovulated and it's taken months before normal periods have returned. Am I being stupid waiting for periods to start again before I take the clomid? I'm going against the doctor's instructions (that she's now confirmed in a follow up letter) and I could just be wasting time. Now cd43, pink spotting, negative hpt and opk yesterday (thought I'd start opk testing again just in case). This has never happened (my initial problem once periods returned after Depo was too much bleeding, usually every 14 days) now there's nothing normal!

What would you ladies do? My next appointment is July and that's to be referred for ivf.

Thanks for listening!

bummymummy77 · 23/02/2017 12:31

My doc says if I haven't had a proper bleed by I think 31 days (I'll check when home) the. They'd give me provera to force a bleed.

Ktmp · 23/02/2017 14:33

She's not offering that unfortunately bummymummy77. She just laughed and said if it was negative by day 49 I had to just take the clomid. Have you been on it long?

bummymummy77 · 23/02/2017 17:43

Hmm that seems a little unusual. Maybe ask on a fertility forum?

I've done two rounds so far, waiting for af now, 99.9 it won't work so not even calling it the 2 week wait.

Last round my period came bang on the day it was meant to so the issue didn't come up for me. She's been very clear in to contact her if af didn't turn up by day 31 though.

Footy1 · 23/02/2017 20:46

I wasn't ovulating after coming off pill for 4 months so they induced it with pills.

I'm very surprised that they would just tell u to take it especially if you are spotting on and off. But I'm no expert, just going by what I was told.
If they won't give u pills (think u can buy them online - next day delivery at oxford pharmacy. Think there were a few ladies on here who have used this pharmacy for clomid and blood tests. Reliable source.
Or just take the clomid u have and see what happens. I guess the only negative things would be that u ovulate v early or v late so as long as u cover yourself you should be ok. Are u temping? Just wondered; as you will be able to tell where u are in cycle now.
Or do u check cervix position?

KP86 · 24/02/2017 19:26

I'm a customer of oxford online pharmacy, i had a very good experience with them.

As for cycles after being on the pill for around 10 years, I had two natural cycles in 8 months, not counting the breakthrough bleed immediately after stopping. I did take primolut (same thing as the other one I think) to induce bleeds before taking clomid, but I only needed one lot of clomid for my first pregnancy.

Haven't needed it this time as I've had reasonably regular cycles since they came back at about 8 months post-birth. average is 5-6 weeks, longest was about 45-46 days.
