We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Hi everyone, thanks for all the commiserations! Not feeling too bad now and looking forward to starting again.

Long, good luck for your 2ww. Keep us posted with how you're getting on!

Maple, good luck to you too lovely and glad there weren't any awkward questions at the BBQ.

Star, so sorry to hear the clomid didn't work. Is the appt in sept to discuss the next steps? Will they put you straight onto IVF or will you try iui first? Sorry I can't remember if you have sperm issues?

Afm, all going ok, going to a BBQ this afternoon so that will be nice. Had a couple of glasses of wine and lots of cheese yesterday! I stopped my meds yesterday too so I'm now just waiting for af to show so that I can book in for my baseline scan on the NHS. I'm not sure when to expect it really and how long it will take after stopping meds. The only time I really can't go in for baseline is Wednesday morning as I have a meeting in work that I'm not going to be able to get out of so what's the bet it will turn up in time for that!

Star, I'm so sorry :-( If you hadn't dtd, you probably would have wondered 'what if' but I wish you'd had the outcome you hoped for. I hope your appointment comes around quickly for you. Flowers

Lucie, I have been thinking about you. I hope you have/had/are having a good time at the BBQ and I am crossing everything for your NHS cycle. xx

Hope, I hope your day went ok today.

Good luck with your 2ww, Long!

Glad the BBQ was ok, Maple.

Thanks for the congrats everyone! Smile

Star i'm really sorry that the clomid didn't work for you, hopefully you won't have to wait long to start your ivf/icsi Flowers

Long all the best with your 2ww i hope you manage to find lots to do to keep you busy so the time passes quickly.

Lucie hope the BBQ went well and i hope you don't have to wait to long for af to arrive so you can get on with your NHS cycle.

Maple glad your BBQ went well in the end, that was good of your friend to put people off asking!

Day out today wasn't too bad thanks, think my husband could tell i had had enough mid afternoon so he suggested we leave early and stop off at the beach on our own on the way home which was nice!

Xxx

Hi all, sorry to hear about lucie and star. As we're not able to actually start treatment we're still trying the old fashioned way at the moment. I so can't wait until sex can be fun again.

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 09:42

Hi there, how is everyone getting on? Anyone got any treatment coming up soon? I'm still waiting for af to show up. Been off meds for 3.5 days today. I've had some cramps but no sign of anything yet. Just want it to show up now so I can move on with the next attempt.

MrsRen · 16/08/2016 10:16

Hi Lucie,

I am also waiting for AF to show up but hoping she won't. I was due today and I'm pretty much regular as clockwork and usually have spotting a few days before, but had no signs or symptoms so far.

I tested this morning with a IC and got a no, so I'm thinking Mother Nature is throwing in a random cycle to toy with me!

Hope everyone else is OK x

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 10:22

Hi Mrs Ren, are you still trying naturally at the moment?

OP posts:
maplebaby · 16/08/2016 11:03

Hey Lucie when do you expect AF to turn up? Hope she doesn't keep you waiting too long.

Mrsren hoping she doesn't turn up!

I have no news - am 8dpiui and am on knicker watch as AF due on Monday and I can usually start spotting this early on. No symptoms what so ever so not feeling hopeful at all!

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 11:07

Ohh fingers crossed maple! It's good news she hasn't turned up yet.

I don't really know when to expect af which is making me feel a little anxious as I'm a planner and kind of want to know when I'm likely to be starting this next cycle and what sort of time I will need to take off work for scans etc. I'm not very patient at all. I guess it could be anywhere up to a week after stopping meds and I stopped mine last Saturday afternoon.

I'm so confused. Just had my scan, I think I'm 7w 3days according to every pregnancy calculator - I had a 5 day transfer on 14th July. Just had my scan and measured me 7.8mm and said, so your on track at 6 weeks. I'm but convinced I should be 7?! So am I actually measuring a week behind and he's got the dates wrong??? He didn't even measure the heartbeat he just saw it and said there was one. Sammylou what did you measure?

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 12:37

Hi itsme, I've worked it out at 7w3d as well but when I was speaking to my acupuncturist the other day we were talking about how if this cycle worked and scans etc and she used to be a midwife and said don't be surprised if the due date that you work out with the calculators changes as it all goes by the size of the embryo at the scan rather than date of transfer etc. so hopefully everything is fine and it's just a little slower. Did you tell him that you had IVF and knew the exact date of transfer and how far along you should be?

OP posts:
Borisisback · 16/08/2016 12:43

Itsme I've measured big at every scan ive had and the nhs have adjusted my lmp and conception dates accordingly even though I know to the hour when we conceived...

Reprofit advise that you date yiur pregnancy as being from your last period or that the day 5 embryo transfer was day 19 of your cycle. Which by their calculations might put you at 6+5???? (Or have I miscounted?) I don't think measuring is an exact science. They are so tiny at this point that it's hard to get an accurate reading.

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 12:54

If you count the transfer day (14th July) as day 19 of cycle that would be the equivalent of 2w5d pregnant which would still make itsme 7w3d today.

Itsme, was the scan done at the same clinic that you had your treatment? If so are you able to ask to speak to one of the consultants about it? Did you tell you how fast the heartbeat was or can you find out? Do you have another scan scheduled?

OP posts:
Itsme247 · 16/08/2016 13:08

My consultant is a strange man, it was like I was the biggest burden this morning. Literally in there for two seconds, he was convinced I was 6 weeks and didn't like it when I questioned it.

No measurement of heartbeat and he said follow up with GP for 12 week scan as normal. My very helpful husband called the main centre to act dumb and find out the actual facts, yes I'm 7w3d and yes 7.8 is small - should be between 10-15mm.

I guess I need to prepare for the worst.

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 13:11

Aww don't think like that's itsme, I think it's more of a problem if it's consistently measuring small. Do you have a private scanning place like babybond where maybe you could schedule your own scan for sometime next week to see if there's been any difference? They are very good and will give you a full report with sizes, heart rate etc. They aren't very expensive.

OP posts:
Itsme247 · 16/08/2016 13:23

Yeah there's one nearby which we'll book into in a couple of weeks, I can't wait another 5 weeks to get to 12.

I'm literally praying he was just being a dick and didn't bother to measure it properly. He just wanted to confirm heartbeat seen for their 'success stats'

Have the worlds biggest headaches from crying so much.

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 13:26

I would try and leave it a week and go again then. There should be a lot of growth now and a week could make a big difference. They can also reassure you about the heartbeat. I know when I was going through all this the wait for the scan was so hard so get it done as soon as you can and hopefully it can put your mind at rest. It seems like the one he did today was very rushed and so there's every chance he didn't do it properly x

OP posts:
MrsRen · 16/08/2016 14:25

Aaw Itsme, try not to worry yourself (although I imagine that's hard). Sounds like the chap got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning! I agree another scan will put your mind at rest.

Lucie, I am also a planner so completely understand!

Yes we are still trying naturally, although haven't got to the bottom of the issue yet, if there is one!

Itsme247 · 16/08/2016 14:31

Scan on 27th at a different private clinic so I'll be exactly 9 weeks (hopefully we get there) and I'll know what's going on. It's the start of my holiday, so if it's bad news - I'll at least have a week to process it before I've got to go back to work :(

beanhunter · 16/08/2016 14:33

Fingers crossed itsme.
The fact there's a heartbeat is v positive.

I had a scan yesterday to check no cysts and start dr on 2nd sept. Going to be dr forever as won't start stims until 27th and provisionally ec 10th oct. having icsi this time. Paid for my drugs yesterday so kitchen cupboards resemble a pharmacy again.

MPP81 · 16/08/2016 15:26

Itsme, this must be so stressful for you. Glad you've got a scan booked in sooner, and everything crossed for you.

Maple and Mrsren, hoping AF stays away for you. Lucie, hope she turns up so you can get going!

Hope time flies for you Bean, so you can start with the stims!

Waves to everyone else.

Longleggedlovely · 16/08/2016 16:31

Just checking in to say hello! I'm now 3dpiui and seriously struggling with headaches, cramping, nausea and I'm so so tired. I feel absolutely rotten, please tell me this is normal?!

lucieloos · 16/08/2016 16:40

Hi Long, it's most likely symptoms from progesterone if you are taking that. It would be too early for implantation yet. Hope the 2ww passes quickly for you I know how torturous it is!

OP posts:
Itsme247 · 16/08/2016 17:18

I'd like to say it gets easier after tww but every bloody week waiting is torture - this is truly the most traumatic thing I can imagine.
