We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Thanks for the offer Sammy. We managed to DTD this morning, so hopefully that is everything ok for wednesday.

Hi Hope. The wonderful people on this thread have been loads of support so far. Sorry you are with us too.

MrsRen · 19/08/2016 08:29

Sounds like a good result Lucie :-)

Lots of luck to everyone else!

I had a bit of blood after dtd last night so think I'm out, but nothing seems to be happening so I will test over the weekend with an expensive one to check if all stays the same.

DH was trying to be positive with, at least you can have a drink at the wedding next weekend - bless him x

lucieloos · 19/08/2016 10:57

Itsme, how are you doing now lovely?

Mpp, good luck for otd tomorrow.

Brenna, glad you managed to dtd and the appt is booked in.

Mrs Ren, could be implantation? Good luck with your test on the weekend.

Afm, I had a tiny bit of brown / pink spotting when I got up this morning and just had a little bit more on wiping. I'm going to have to count tomorrow as day 1 though as I have to go in for a baseline scan on the NHS between day 1-3 and it's too late today as they only do mornings and they don't do weekends so I'm hoping full flow will hold off until later on this afternoon or even tomorrow. I have an appt booked in for Monday morning. Looks like I'm getting going again!

maplebaby · 19/08/2016 11:54

Brenna hope Wednesday goes ok!

Mrs how many dpo were you again?

Lucie glad it sounds like you can get started again so soon - hope AF holds back until tomorrow!

I've had the day off today and had my haircut - it's been a while! Now en route to see my friend who had a baby a few months ago - she has been so so nice about everything and apparently messaged my best friend asking how I was and she was worried about sending photos of the baby to our whatsapp group incase it upset me. It's friend like her that I need not like the selfish me me me friend recently!!

Brenna24 · 19/08/2016 11:59

Everything crossed Lucie.

What a lovely friend Maple. Definitely keep her around.

Itsme247 · 19/08/2016 13:01

Good that you get to start again so quickly Lucie.

I'm OK, just nervous for the next scan in the 27th. I've had blood tests and my liver tests are all screwed up so I've had to have three blood tests since! It's either OHSS or the progesterone throwing it all out of sync.

as long as I'm not turning yellow I'm keeping that as a good sign!

lucieloos · 19/08/2016 13:14

Itsme, I hope the next week goes quickly so you can have the scan and hopefully put your mind at rest. Have you had any hcg blood tests?

Maple, that sounds like a lovely friend. Hope you have a good afternoon.

OP posts:
MrsRen · 19/08/2016 13:37

Sounds like a fab friend Maple! Our f&f don't know anything yet and I am wondering how it will go down....

I'm currently 17dpo and 3/4 days late

Fingers crossed for 27th itsme

Itsme247 · 19/08/2016 13:39

No, no HCG tests - would they be helpful? I'm 8 weeks tomorrow so I'm hoping the little one can amaze with a growth spurt!

I've read countless posts from people measuring a week behind in their viability scan. Right now it seems like half the stories lose it, half don't. So I'm just taking it easy, it's stuck so far!

lucieloos · 19/08/2016 13:51

I'm not sure itsme, they would give you an idea about whether the hcg was at the right level but I know the doubling time is meant to slow down after a certain point of time so maybe not much use now and probably best to wait until the scan for a definite answer. I think the first scans can definitely be out by a week or so as they are so small and hard to measure anyway so hopefully it's just something like that.

Hi everyone, hopefully some of you will remember me Smile
Have been thinking of you lovely ladies whilst trying not to think about treatment.

For those who don't know me;

Trixie 35
TTC since December 2013
very mild MF, high NK cells and pco
BFN fresh and FET last year
BFN fresh cycle in June (with immunes)
Natural FET - cancelled

Lucie, thank you for thinking of me. I've had a quiet day at work and have just read back on the end of the last thread and this one. Good call to move over here btw. I'm so pleased to hear how well the mini IVF worked for you, gutted that it was a BFN though Flowers Good luck with your NHS cycle.

Sammy, AMAZING news!! I had a feeling it would be twins but identicals is so exciting Smile

MPP - congratulations! Fantastic news!

Star- sorry to hear the iui didn't work, good luck with your IVF - 1 September isn't far away at all.

AFM, things aren't exactly great...was 8 days late my cycle leading up to my FET which was vv annoying! Had horrendous PMT and wonder if it was an annovulatory cycle.

Currently on day 15 of my natural FET which was cancelled today. My lining has gone from 6.5mm on Monday to 4mm today and I have no dominant follicle. They've taken bloods and will get in touch but I suspect that the answer will be to try a medicated FET. Feeling pretty disappointed but don't want our embies going back when conditions aren't good. So we are back to waiting.....oh and worrying that I may well now have full blown pcos.

lucieloos · 19/08/2016 15:05

Oh trixie it's so good to see you back here!! Not that it's good for you and I wish you were back with better news but I have missed you and others have moved on. I'm so sorry your natural fet has been cancelled but definitely don't transfer your precious embryos unless everything is 100%. Hopefully a medicated fet will work better as you have never had any lining issues before. The waiting is so hard though isn't it.

OP posts:
JustTrixie · 19/08/2016 15:24

I know Lucie, DH still thinks we should try a natural FET but don't really want to have another few weeks on pred, keep disappearing for scans, book intralipids only for it to get cancelled again. I worry about my progesterone in a medicated cycle though so hope that they would give me different/extra progesterone if we did go medicated. No idea when we'll be able to go again, or when I can expect AF! Really tempted to book a last minute holiday but can't really disappear while everything is up in the air. The waiting sucks Sad

Hope your scan goes well on Monday, are you still thinking of using half of the meds? (think I remember you saying you were going to do that before)

Brenna24 · 19/08/2016 15:27

Good to see you back Trixie. Sorry the news wasn't better this month. Flowers

I have just realised I haven't written my stats yet.

Brenna 38
TTC no1 for 15 months now (so I am sneaking on here a bit early as I was with you in the 10 months plus thread Grin )
1 MMC 17th October 2015 at 11w3d
2MC 24th December 2015 and 24th April 2016
Unexplained secondary infertility. Can get pregnant but they don't stick.
No clotting disorders, thyroid disorders, antiphospholipid syndrome.
IVF not an option as husband is catholic (plus that is the bit I can do, so no point really).
Waiting on SA for DH - I may be well past childbearing years before this happens Grin

lucieloos · 19/08/2016 15:48

Trixe, what progesterone did you use on your previous fet? Did you go for gestone? Could you see if you could get that again and do you have any left over pessaries that you could top up with? You can always have a progesterone blood test after transfer or on bfp just to make sure your levels are high enough. I'm going to do that if I ever get a bfp again. I found the not knowing when af was going to appear after this failed cycle difficult. Hopefully it won't be too much different from your usual cycle. Will you get going with another fet as soon as af arrives?

I think I am going to reduce my meds on the NHS. High stimms has never worked out well for me. I don't expect to have the same response as last time really as we are doing back to back so I think there will be less but I'm going to give it a go and then we will have enough left over meds for 3 more minis or one normal dose and a mini.

Brenna i hope Wednesdays appointment goes well for you x

Lucie so pleased that AF has arrived and you can get things moving again, fingers crossed for you x

Maple its friends like that that everyone needs its lovely to hear you have people supporting and looking out for you x

Hello Trixie welcome!

Itsme i do hope the next week goes quickly for you x

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend Flowers

MPP81 · 19/08/2016 20:12

Evening all!

Brenna, hope everything goes well for you wednesday!

Mrsren, fingers still crossed for you!

Lucie, glad you finally know where you are with af, though what a pain that she decided to show at the inoportune moment! Did you get full flow after? Can you count tomorrow as CD1? I'm glad you'll be on your way again soon! Thanks for the good luck wishes! :-)

Maple, what a lovely friend!! I hope you feel good after your haircut. I always feel like one of those shampoo advert people when I've just had my hair done, and want to walk down the street flicking it around (though I'm pretty sure I dont look like one!)

Itsme, I am thinking of you. I know its pretty much impossible but try not to worry. I hope the scan puts your mind at ease xx

TRIXIE!! Lovely to see you, though obviously would have loved you to have better news. I'm sorry your FET was cancelled, but as Lucie said, better to hang on to your embryos til things are optimal. Thanks for the congrats. Still cant quite believe it, but there's such a long way to go and I'm trying not to count my chickens while still remaining somewhat optimistic.

Non-ttc news - we finally have a date for completion on our new house! I cannot wait. The family member we have been staying with has been amazing but I cant wait til we have our own space again!

Echoing Hope, I hope everyone has a good weekend!

lucieloos · 19/08/2016 20:37

Thanks hope and MPP. I haven't had full flow today just a bit of minor spotting this morning and then a blob of red in some ewcm (sorry tmi) this afternoon so I think I will be fine to call tomorrow day 1 that's if it picks up a bit tomorrow. So far so good though.

OP posts:
maplebaby · 19/08/2016 21:42

Thanks all - she really is great and it was so nice to see her. Felt a bit sad when having baby cuddles though as it really drives home how much I want my own. Didn't help that I also started brown spotting today so fully expecting AF to arrive over the next few days. Am 11dpiui - silver lining is that the clomid seemed to have helped with the spotting as I usually start earlier than this!

I was fully prepared for AF to come but equally feel really disappointed.

Trixie so nice to hear from you! I'm so sorry the FET was cancelled but like you say you don't want to transfer when it's not optimal for them Flowers

Itsme I hope the scan comes round quickly!

MPP fab news about completion date! Are you moving far from where you currently are?

Hope2409 · 19/08/2016 22:15

Maple so sorry to hear that AF is on its way, despite thinking it might have been coming its still a disappointment to actually see it, i hope your ok.

Well done for going to see your friend though, it is always hard not to feel sad when holding other peoples babies isnt it. I work in the baby room at a childrens nursery and am reminded everyday what im missing out on as i care for other peoples babies, also makes me sad to see that some people dont realise how lucky they are to have children.

MPP a brand new house! Very exciting!

Xxx

MPP81 · 20/08/2016 16:32

Hello all!!

Lucie, hope AF has arrived properly now and you are good to go for Monday!

Maple, sorry to hear about the spotting. Is there any chance it could be the elusive implantation bleeding if its just brown spotting? I hope you are ok. We aren't moving far. Ten minutes away from our last house, but in a much nicer area and to a much much nicer house! I cant wait!

Oh, Hope, working in a baby room at a nursery must be so, so difficult! Do you have the option to ask to move to one of the other rooms if it ever gets too hard?

AFM, OTD today and things are looking ok. I took 3 tests and got nice lines on two and a '2-3' on a CB digi. Next step is to book a scan for two weeks time to verify everything is in the right place apparently. Still a long way to go but we're cautiously optimistic.

bananafish81 · 20/08/2016 19:12

Hi ladies

Just popped in to check how you ladies were doing, huge congrats to MPP and sammy (and the dynamic duo!)

Big hugs to lucie but amazing news about your 2 beautiful euploid blasts. That’s two babies right there!

trixie I’m so sorry about your cancelled FET - big hugs in solidarity, having just had two cancelled FET. It sucks. But definitely, definitely worth holding off and only transferring when you’re confident in the uterine environment and the quality of the endometrium

Hugs to maple, star, brenna and to everyone else

So, wonder of wonders, my hysteroscopy has been cancelled. I’m not getting an IUD put in. I only went and got an actual period (of sorts) Shock

Dr thinks it’s the G-CSF wash that made the difference - so we are definitely going to repeat it this cycle

I started stims this morning! I can’t believe we’re doing an entire fresh cycle with EC just to try and grow my bastard lining, but there you go

Oh and my vag is getting the gold star treatment. We have managed to find a pharmacy who will make up the vaginal viagra pessaries - cannot believe how much they charge for crushing up some boner pills and smushing them into vag bullets.

It’s last chance saloon, if we can’t get my lining to thicken up and get an embryo back on board, we’re not far off the end of the line…

lucieloos · 20/08/2016 20:51

MPP, congrats again lovely, some really good lines you've got there on otd. Hoping that everything will go nice and smoothly for you now and good luck with the house move ok. Sounds like everything is falling into place.

Ahh banana, so nice to see you back too. I've missed you ladies! I'm so pleased to hear that things might be moving forward for you and you don't have to have the hysteroscopy or the iud. I really, really hope your lining thickens nicely for you this time. Where did you get you viagara pessaries from? I have ordered some from John Bowen in Malaysia. I know you had these before. I'm not sure if they are any good or not and I don't have a major problem with my lining but the last couple of times I could have done with it a mm or so thicker so thought what the hell I will order some just incase and then I always have them as a back up to try if I need them. I should be starting stimms on Monday if all goes ok with my baseline so we could be similar timings.

Oh and forgot to add my stats

Bananafish 34
TTC no 1 for 15 months (also sneaking in as I was with you on the old thread)
PCOS, persistent thin lining (8 months ago I was high FSH/low AMH - long story!)
3 x fresh IVF cycles:
IVF #1 - no transfer
IVF #2 - BFP in Jan but MMC in Mar - tissue testing showed the mc wasn't due to chromosomal abnormalities (ie the baby was healthy, the problem was me) Sad
IVF #3 - freeze all cycle in May for PGS - 6 genetically normal embryos on ice
Medicated FET - cancelled
Ovulation induction FET - cancelled
Currently doing a fourth fresh IVF cycle to prepare my lining for a FET (basically its an IVF/FET hybrid, we’re freestyling!)

lucie the pessaries are unbelievably expensive, if it wasn’t last chance saloon with severe lining issues, I wouldn’t be using them - I’d be sticking with the John Bowen v-cream tampons (they never worked for me, but then again the genuine article might not do anything either). I actually just bought 3 months worth of v-cream from John, expecting to use them during the months of HRT priming with the IUD. Really hoping that I’ve wasted my money because I don’t end up needing them!

The pessaries are from www.specialslab.co.uk - they’re a whopping £147 for 6 pessaries, ie £100 a day. They wouldn’t provide me a with a price as they will only liaise with other pharmacies - so my Dr’s secretary had to order them via the clinic pharmacy.

Brenna I’m sorry about your issues with DH - as others have said, a home kit won’t give the full picture about count, motility AND morphology: so a good result on a home kit can be misleading. However, DH found them useful as a bit of prep for the SA - if the count was bad then it wouldn’t be such a shock, and if it was good then he’d feel like he was hopefully OK on at least one measure.

The test he used supposedly measures count and motility: www.sme-fertility.co.uk/male-fertility-tests/fertilityscore-male-fertility-tests.html

DH picked up a pot from the clinic beforehand so he could produce his sample for the SA at home (much less stressful than the masturbatorium at the clinic) - he just had to get it into the lab within an hour of production. He mentioned he’d done a home kit to the embryologist: she asked which brand he’d used, and she told him that this particular one was apparently very reliable, FWIW

(He was very serious about ‘doing his revision’, and didn’t want to take the test until he’d had 2 months of no drinking, taking all the vitamins etc under his belt, as he was terrified that his years as a smoker would have affected his morphology. Believe it or not, he looked at his boys under a microscope, as he wanted to see if he had mutant swimmers with three heads that swam in circles like the Andrex puppy. I shit you not, we have videos of his sperm zooming around: we are both massive nerds so found this rather fascinating. None of this is a substitute for a proper SA, but it helped DH feel prepared for the test)
