Ivf first time

Hi, im just starting my jabs for my first ivf attempt. I wondered if anyone is in the same position as me or have any advice?

Spiny. Hope the 2ww is being kind to you. When is otd?
Sara hope your ok too. Have you booked ur holiday?

Hi whiskers- I booked it in June! I feel much better today. Works a good distraction and haven't cried all day! Clinic suggest I have intralipds next cycle to aid implantation. Also they suggested dh has sperm fragmentation test as we only had one decent 5 day embryo which from day 3 is down to the name genes apparently. Though we had excellent fertilisation so they say its a long shot!

Sara It's great they can try a few options for your next cycle :) sounds optimistic x x x

I've been trying to stay off any forums in 2ww. I've had no symptoms and did a FR test at 7dp2dt and got a negative. I'll try again on Monday and OTD is Tuesday.

Whiskers- any nausea yet? X

Smell of bananas is turning me but thats about it really and tender breasts . Yeah wait til monday 7day padt may be a little early x

Unfortunately I don't need to worry about testing tomorrow as my period showed up today. I really didn't see that happening and was naively quite shocked. Clinic said I didn't need to bother with test tomorrow. Pretty gutted and just had a row with other half for being upset. Oh well tomorrow is another day. Hope all is good with you two x

Oh Spiny sorry to hear that. I felt really shocked when mine came too. I kept telling myself it wouldn't work but obviously I still had this deep hope it might. This whole thing really takes its toll so take care of yourself. X

Thanks Sara- i was a bit shell shocked, but guess there is no easy way to discover things haven't worked. You invest so much time, money and energy for nothing. We are going to take a wee holiday before our review and then see where we go. Our next round will be an NHS one x
