Ivf first time

Hi, im just starting my jabs for my first ivf attempt. I wondered if anyone is in the same position as me or have any advice?

I had a day 8 scan today and came away a bit gutted. One ten mm follicle on right ovary, and 3 or 4 small follicles on both. I had been hoping for a bit more action, especially given how tired and bloated I felt.

Great news on 5 day transfer Sara, was it sore?

Sara we are indeed having a simular experience and completely relate to how you feel. I too was really shocked and disappointed. Hopefully we both got the lucky 1 xxxx
I'm trying to think positive but this wait is horrible x Hope your doing ok tho. My otd is 10th sept. Whats yours?

Hi Duffy Have they said anything about increasing your dose? Hopefully you will habe a birst and lots there for the next scan. It happened to me x and i ate lots of high protein foods x

Duffy, can understand you being disappointed but we are all different and I had loads of follicles and ended up with only 1 embryo you night have less but more it's a minefield. Give it more time. Things seem to change rapidly. Remember you only need one good embryo. For me et was OK bit like an extended smear test but was so upset about only having one embryo left I was a bit shaky. X x
Whiskers - it's a rollercoaster alright. My test is also the 10th but only had et yesterday so seems early. Will prob do early ones even though they tell you not to. Felt bit crampy on right side today. Reading into every twinge. Come on two weeks. Take care x x

Hi Sara. Yes i have had twinges last 2 days but not as bad as AF pains. I dont know if its a good sign or just all in my head lol symptom spotting x I had a bit of a down day yesterday and teary thinking it wont work. But feeling better today x
I think i will end up testing early too. Hate the waiting x

good luck ladies - just dropping in to wish you well as I have been in your shoes. Max stims only got 2 follies +possible cyst but got 2 eggs 1 fertilised - he's now 6 and asleep upstairs.
I know its hard and feels like a hurdle race but 1 good egg really can work.

Ok...so the update from me. Day 10 scan and I have 3-4 follicles per ovary and lining is at 11mm. Very relieved as I was having nightmares of a cancelled cycle. They did reckon egg collection won't be until next Tuesday or Wednesday, so I will be stimming for 14 days!

I have headache which usually precedes period. Feeling v.nervous😐

Sara I feel fine, just tired. No bloating and no real side effects.

The progesterone will give you all your pms side effects, so try not to worry too much. If I get that far I'm determined not to test early and will try not to worry excessively (as if I'll be able to not)! X

Hi whiskers yes on the crinone pessaries and if it works, have to use them for 12 weeks... I feel up and down took my temperature this morning as it can be a sign but then again the pessaries make it go up I think. At least it's the weekend now. Thinking of testing on Sunday or should I wait till Friday?arrgggh! Lots of needed. X

Im thinking of testing too and just got back from tesco with haribo and choc lol
Bit of a panic on today as had a bit of brown on tissue today. Sorry if tmi. Hope its not a bad sign x

Hey no such thing as tmi with this malarkey! God its stressful. I feel for you though could be sign of implantation. Also I had a leaflet from the clinic that said bits of brown could be the crinone gel. Its so tough wish they could devise something so we just knew. X

Fingers crossed for your test hun x R u going to use first response? I read they detect hcg as low as 25miu. Some are higher x

I couldnt help myself this morning and test..got a faint 2nd line. But now i am bleeding and its red. Feeling really confused and frustrated :(

Oh god hon that's confusing have you called you clinic? Is it full on period type flow or spotting? Its still early days. I did a test this morning and was neg but I knew it was way too early. This is such a head fuck. Thinking of you x

So far its only when i wipe but looks alot on the tissue.
But i think it will be AF. It turned up earlier on my iui too..not sure why its early.

Whiskers how are things?

I did a second test sunday. Even tho i was bleeding and line was darker. I rang the clinic today. She said not to test again now until otd and spotting is normal. So not to worry unless it gets heavier and call them. She said i can even test friday if i want and if i am they may need to increase my meds. The pessaries x. Scared to test again now tho. How r u Sara? Hope your ok x

Whiskers I have read that a lot of women bleed and are pregnant. if you're getting the positive when you test, then sounds like you are. God you must be stressed. I did one test sat morn which was neg stupidly early I know as only has et on the Mon. No sign of AF but aching right side. Tomorrow will be 9 days post transfer so may test again. Just can't stand the sight of that single line. Fingers crossed for both of us and our blasts!
