Help everyone, been sick now really gross, what to do now, sipping water, but feel rough and shaky after indigestion, nausea, trapped wind and hot flushes during the night, so very little sleep at all

Everhopeful76 · 06/05/2016 07:23

It's v normal goinggrey. I started with constant dull nausea and then progressed to being sick but only a handful of times but still happening. I'm 10 weeks today.Keep drinking as much water as can. I ve found dry crackers, cream crackers, oat cakes, ginger biscuits helpful to take edge off. Not sure if you can eat due to colitis. Obviously if you are being sick multiple times you might have to seek medical advice due to dehydration. If you ve not returned to work yet just nap when the nausea goes off. Am often up at 5 am with nausea so understand the lack of sleep. Trapped wind is v nasty. I twisted my shoulder with referred pain down arm. That could b a trapped nerve as not clearing quickly. Take it easy

goinggrey1978 · 06/05/2016 08:37

Everhopeful76, thanks, 7 weeks today, scan on Tuesday, my best mate said sickness is a good thing, it's normal pregnancy symptoms!! Bubble was very demanding during the night Tuesday and last night, today ramped it up a notch with the sickness, was only sick because of a smell!! Been sick twice now! Drinking my diorylite as I'm still on that, waiting to see what happens before I take my ivf medications!

SparrowSG · 06/05/2016 11:54

Hi all,

TinySalmon I hope all is ok now after your fright last weekend? Very scary, especially being away from home.

Kwick, fingers crossed your cycle will get back to normal soon and you can get on track with the next try.

goinggrey and ever I do not envy your sickness at all, I'm a wimp about puking and have a bit of an irrational fear of it. Luckily, apart from not being able to eat a fish pie on Monday because of the smell making me feel queasy I've been ok, for now anyway!

Today is a mini celebration as it will be my last injection, two months of stabbing myself in the stomach is done Smile, I am still continuing with the progesterone pessaries though for another week.

Scan next Friday and then I think that is when my consultant in Athens will sign me off his care. I went to make my booking appointment today and of course the earliest the midwife can see me is June 1st, when I will be 12 weeks so who knows when I will get my 12 week NHS scan! Luckily I will have had 3 done privately by then so I am not too concerned.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend in the sunshine x

goinggrey1978 · 06/05/2016 12:57

Sparrow SG, you just wait, I thought I'd never be sick, and on 7 weeks threw up, it was a nasty smell that made me throw up twice this morning about 5am, I've had words with bubble and said it's not on or happening again, while I Was being sick and crying!!

TinySalmon · 06/05/2016 13:30

sparrow yes was so scary but relieved to see a heartbeat when I got back to London.

Had first official sickness today! At 7+3. I was feeling gag-y for the last two weeks but properly sick earlier today. Don't know what set me off but it was a nice excuse to order fish & chips delivery to door for lunch so I didn't have to get out of bed!

Have another scan booked on Tuesday and then will probably book another 1 before the 12 weeks. I'm just too anxious and scared!

goinggrey1978 · 06/05/2016 13:52

Tiny salmon, how much are scans out of interest, I have my 7 and half week one on Tuesday as part of my treatment, then I assume I transfer to nhs care for my 12 week scan, gp said to see her for booking in once I've had my scan, what is that? I have no idea about all these things??

SparrowSG · 06/05/2016 14:16

goinggrey, you have a 'booking' appointment with the midwife (mine is at my Drs surgery). They will take your medical history, blood tests, weight/height etc and you have to tell them which hospital you want to be referred to. Then they refer you on to that hospital and you get your appointment from them for the 12 week scan. It might be slightly different where you live, but that's the general idea.

My private scans were £125 at a woman's health clinic, I think around the £100 mark is normal for a scan. If you google it you should find a few places near you.

goinggrey1978 · 06/05/2016 15:12

Ahh thanks, I have no idea about these things!! Years of experience in how to look after babies and children though!!

Kwick709 · 06/05/2016 20:45

Blimey!!! Morning sickness stories are scary!!! Take care!!!

My clinic charges £200 per scan... But it is (opposite) the Portland Hospital Hmm

goinggrey1978 · 07/05/2016 07:31

Kwick709, my clinic is on Harley street, so it's probably the same as yours, I'm excited and nervous about Tuesday, but still positive thinking!!

goinggrey1978 · 09/05/2016 17:54

Hi everyone, how are you all?? I'm feeling quite anxious and nervous about tomorrow's scan, plus I'm still not well either, trying to be positive but need a little help, to put my fears of the unknown into prospective really!!

TinySalmon · 09/05/2016 18:04

Hi goinggrey try not to worry! I'm sure everything will be fine :) I know it's nerve-wracking and even when you have your scan and it will show everything is normal, you'll be itching to have another one soon after!

I don't think I will be casual about this pregnancy until I deliver a healthy little baby! I'm nervous everyday!

goinggrey1978 · 09/05/2016 19:15

Thanks tinysalmon, I'm really struggling with food too, as bubble is demanding to be fed, but then says it tastes disgusting and doesn't like the smell either, it's been a really hard day!! Bubble decided that it doesn't like pasta at all now, trying plain crisps, as I need my stomach as settled as possible to travel tomorrow, once I get back I'll eat whatever bubble demands!! Had all sorts of cravings although I know most will go straight through me!! I'm so hungry!!

TinySalmon · 09/05/2016 20:25

I hate that goinggrey! Being ravenously hungry but then all the food in the fridge making me gag. I find I'm eating the most random things as a result. For lunch I had a bowl of fresh yogurt with strawberries, followed by pancakes (plain with butter. What the!!), a cereal bar, and crisps!! And for supper I had steamed prawn dumplings and vegetable soup (delivery because I have zero energy!) and the wired thing is, just typing those foods out is making me gag!!

goinggrey1978 · 10/05/2016 08:57

Ahh tinysalmon, I'm so glad it's not just me, yesterday, I had a couple of mouthfuls of marmite on toast, a handful of crackers at various points in the day, baked plain crisps only a few, 3 or 4 pieces of plain pasta, a couple of bites of plain toast, boiled sweets, diorylite and water, not a lot really!!

TinySalmon · 10/05/2016 14:13

Let us know how your scan goes goinggrey xx

goinggrey1978 · 10/05/2016 19:37

All good, bubble is 8 weeks today, also heard heart beat, got to keep taking medication til 12 weeks, bubble is being rewarded with pizza for behaving all the way to London and back again!! only managed a slice of pizza but it's more than I've consumed in days!! My brother got his own picture from the scan lady too, he's just a little excited!!

TinySalmon · 10/05/2016 20:39

So good to hear! I was getting worried about you! But yes how great to see a flickering heartbeat on the screen!!

I had my last scan with the fertility clinic today before they sign me off and I measured 8+1, just a day ahead of my actual pregnancy. Very pleased and relieved he/she is still in there!

You've put the idea of pizza in to my head for supper. Hmmmm yum! I'm going to call Pizza Express and get a takeaway Grin

Just finished a pilates class - felt so gross afterwards I almost vom'd in front of everyone :/

goinggrey1978 · 10/05/2016 21:18

Thanks tinysalmon, was a hard journey battling nausea there and back, could focus to text, just rung anyone that needed to know, 2 work bosses, a few close and fantastic friends!! Sure my brother couldn't believe how many conversations I had on the way back!! But he knows my friends are very good to me and which ones will be there when I need them the most!! I'm in massive shock, can't believe bubble is ok after me being so ill with this bug, bubble is determined to join my family is all I can say!! Giving me indigestion again!!

Everhopeful76 · 11/05/2016 08:40

Great news goinggrey. Had my first appointment with midwife on mon. Was there for ages, didn't expect that. Mostly just paperwork filling. Waiting for dating scan now hopefully within next few weeks. Am 10 +5 now and been given an estimated delivery date of 7 th dec. it's interesting as my fertility consultant and nurse were saying last week in nov and I d calculated it to around the 2 nd dec. it's difficult to determine with ivf because your body gets taken over as a 28 day cycle for that month but normally cycles are quite a bit shorter so who knows.

And in last few days I have had daily bouts of sickness, 1 day happened 3 times.!! But apart from indigestion on/ off and a bit of a pulling sensation around abdomen, bean is prime sized now gotta make room.... But no other symptoms

goinggrey1978 · 11/05/2016 09:03

Ahh Everhopeful76, that's fantastic, I was telling my brother about you wonderful ladies on forum yesterday on the way back and what a massive support you all are!! Yes my bubble is also awake and moving furniture about again!! Had terrible indigestion and heartburn again in the night, but hey a little lack of sleep will do me no harm in the grand scheme of things!!

goinggrey1978 · 12/05/2016 01:26

Hello everyone I know it's the middle of the night but bubble has no concept of time what so ever!! Demanding all sorts of take away food when everywhere is closed and I can't drive!! Had to do a deal with bubble and ask my friend that's coming tomorrow or Friday if she'd fancy a take away dinner when she comes over!! Luckily she's asleep but will get that random fb private message in the real morning!! Now please go to sleep bubble!!

TinySalmon · 12/05/2016 07:41

It happens goinggrey :) Deliveroo has been my best friend the last week. I don't know if that's just a London-based company though.. Local restaurants that are too small to have their own delivery service sign up to Deliveroo who do the delivery to your door. So I've been having fish & chips, burgers, Chinese, pizza... Bad!

There is a really busy and fun antenatal thread going on for mummies-to-be in December if you want to join that. Just search in Antenatal Clubs and you'll find the most recent December babies thread xx

goinggrey1978 · 12/05/2016 12:02

Hi tinysalmon, we have just eat here and something else can't remember what it is called, most places on there close about 12am during the week I'm sure, later Friday's and Saturday's maybe 2am, I'm only 30 minutes away from Liverpool street on the fast train, and takes about 1 hour 15minutes to drive to Harley street, so not far from you really!! Not sure I'm ready for antenatal thing yet, will have a look, maybe lurk, it's not real yet til I get past 12 weeks, if that makes sense, although bubble is absolutely fine and loves to wind me up with lack of sleep, weeing, fidgeting, headaches past few days, indigestion, heartburn, wants food and then hates that food, nausea, and random crying like this morning!! although I'm moaning about bubble and all that is happening to me right now is weird, actually it's comforting because bubble is always telling me hey I'm here don't forgot about me!!
