If so, please join the club. Let's keep each other going!

In our case, we're going abroad for ours - Norway. What about you?

Hi everyone, still had some cramps today, no more spotting! Phew!! I'm putting the cramps down to the bubble making itself a nice comfy home!! At times I'm having to undo my trousers as everything's uncomfortable when I'm having the cramps!!

NotSpartacus · 14/04/2016 08:22

Morning all. Glad the spotting has stopped goinggrey. That's got to be a good sign Smile

When is your next scan Kwick ?

Loving the new name Tinysalmon how on earth did you come up with that?

I'm in the clinic today picking up Crinone. Figured I'd better get more if I still don't want to test. I'm scared of the result so am on avoidance.

Cramping seems to have subsided though my back still aches a bit. No "pregnancy symptoms" though I am boiling hot and losing weight so I wonder if my thyroid has gone bonkers or if this is progesterone-related.

TinySalmon · 14/04/2016 10:37

Ha! NotSpartacus you know that old-ish teen comedy film "Road Trip"? Tom Greene sings a song and mentioned tiny salmon. It was on the TV in the background and stuck in my head. But can also be related to fertility I guess! Like I have a little tiny salmon in me right now (still, hopefully!)

goinggrey this is a good sign! I was cramping before I tested and I was convinced it was AF but I was wrong!

goinggrey1978 · 14/04/2016 19:58

Hi everyone, no more spotting, it was just for those couple of hours! I've been having hot flushes!! The girls were laughing at me hanging head out the staffroom Windows, having a moment as we call then

NotSpartacus · 14/04/2016 20:49

Me too Goinggrey am absolutely boiling, especially in the mornings!

goinggrey1978 · 14/04/2016 21:07

NotSpartacus do you have any heat waves during the night?? i feel like i have them all throughout the day, but yes mostly in the mornings now i think about!!
lots of ladies having moments at work as we are all nearly 40 or 40 ish!!

NotSpartacus · 15/04/2016 07:20

So, 11dp5dt and huge stark bfn. I will keep taking drugs etc to OTD but pretty sure I am out. No idea what we'll do next. Stims were ok but can't really face the thought of another 2ww right now.

TinySalmon · 15/04/2016 12:21

Oh no NotSpartacus :( Keep your head high and test again on your OTD. You said it was the 19th? In which case you're 4 days out and still plenty of time!

I tested just two days before OTD and got a BFN and was devastated then tested again the following day for BFP.

Make sure you're testing with FRER too! I tested with Clear Blue digital first two times and both times BFN

NotSpartacus · 15/04/2016 13:23

Mine was FMU and FRER. And I am 11 days past my 5 day transfer, so there ought to be HCG by now. I will keep taking the drugs and won't crack open the wine just yet, but I think it has to be pretty accurate by now.

goinggrey1978 · 15/04/2016 20:29

hi ladies, i'm really rubbish what do all these mean please:
OTD
BFN
BFP
FMU
FRER
i'm also rubbish at the acronyms they put all over fb as well!!

TinySalmon · 15/04/2016 21:48

goinggrey

OTD = official test date/day
BFN = big fat negative (negative pregnancy result)
BFP = big fat positive (positive pregnancy result)
FMU = first morning urine
FRER - first response early response

:)

goinggrey1978 · 16/04/2016 06:45

Oh my god it says BFP, oh my god, woke up at 1.30am, luckily my best friend was still awake, tested not long after, it's very clear, I can't believe it, what happens next?? Apart from the early scan and keep taking the medication??

TinySalmon · 16/04/2016 08:18

YAAAYYYYYYY goinggrey congratulations! Thanks

I think by law you have to call your fertility clinic and tell them the result, they will then book you in for your 6 week scan. I saw my GP but she said it was a bit too early to do anything.

goinggrey1978 · 16/04/2016 09:40

Thank you, my clinic said a scan in 3 and half weeks time, nurses are in theatre, so they will call me back

Everhopeful76 · 16/04/2016 16:54

Not Spartacus - so upset for you but maybe there is still a chance if your OTD is not till 19th. I know you should have a definite result by now but maybe clinic has had a percentage of clients who had a bfn at same stage and then it changed a couple of days later. I hope that maybe is the case, because I know you had a really tough regime with worries about OHSS and the sheer volume of those awful clexane jabs.... I am still rooting for you!!! If its proven to be unsuccessful this time, I hope it will work again. So sorry but cant remember if you were able to freeze any embryos, but I do remember you had a lot of eggs. I am thinking of you my lovely xxxx

Everhopeful76 · 16/04/2016 17:01

Goinggrey - Congratulations!! Am excited for you.
When I got my positive result I think I spent the first week in total shock. Took so many tests. Try to not do the same if you possibly can. It did drive me a bit potty.
My early scan is on Monday, will be 7 weeks 3 days by then. So 3 weeks was approx. what I had to wait.
How long are you continuing with what was luteal support, ie progesterone etc. Is it until you your early scan?
Above all I would suggest just to stay as calm as possible, trust the process to reach the eventual happy outcome and stick with as healthy a diet as you can, and get enough sleep. Brilliant news!!!xxxxx

goinggrey1978 · 16/04/2016 18:07

everhopeful76, thanks so much have to take progynova and cyclogest til the scan and then they decide the lady told me this morning
i took 1 test its very clear and bold, sent the photo to a few friends, so they could check it for me!
it's quite hard with food as everything i eat is going straight threw me as i have colitis as well and the pessaries side effects are also the runs, so eating what i fancy and hoping it'll stay in!!
sleep is also difficult as having stomach pains with the colitis and need to wee in the night also!
will try to eat little bits and sleep better now i know bubble is still there and needs food, but my mouth tastes horrible most of the time, so food isn't tasting very pleasant either!!

goinggrey1978 · 17/04/2016 05:45

Morning everyone, anyone awake yet?? how long does it take to sink in, that I'm actually pregnant?? I'm so restless and uncomfortable when it bedtime, to hot then too cold, but so tired!!

LochChick01 · 17/04/2016 10:14

Hi all new to this page. And was hoping for advice. We have been ttc for 14months. And have been referred on for more testing following clear hormones tests. Can anyone give me an idea what to expect?

TinySalmon · 17/04/2016 13:38

Hhi Lochchick! A fertility specialist will probably tell you to keep trying, especially given that all your tests are clear and nothing is obviously wrong. NHS won't even consider seeing you unless you've been ttc for 24 months.

In my experience the fertility clinic first told us to continue trying naturally and went in for more tests then suggested we do IUI which I said no to and I really had to push to go through IVF.

But 14 months in most opinions isn't long enough

Kwick709 · 17/04/2016 21:19

goinggrey CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is ace news! Star
Your luteal support side effects dont sound so good - sorry.
I am 8+1 and still do not believe it... no real symptoms plus a bit of a blurry scan this week...

goinggrey1978 · 18/04/2016 05:58

Kwick709 thanks, had a terrible day in the end yesterday, only way to explain what was going on in my stomach is Colitis and bubble fighting for space and having a massive row, not really sure who won, but I spent an awful lot of time in the bathroom!!

Kwick709 · 18/04/2016 07:40

sorry to hear that goinggrey I hope you fair better today.

Everhopeful76 · 18/04/2016 08:50

It always surprises me that a tiny embryo can cause pressure at such an early stage.
In the last 10 days or so I ve had terrible nausea overnight so impacted a lot on sleep and the need to pee constantly too. Then I have leg cramps during day. Before the nausea starts again in earnest in mid pm.
Is your gp able to suggest anything for ur colitis in pregnancy. I know your already on a restricted diet etc
When I had my endo operation last year the surgeon also found diverticula pouch on bowel which was probably an inflammation waiting to happen as well as adhesions on bladder which will flare at some point

Got my early scan today, as am 7 weeks 3 days now. Eek so nervous

NotSpartacus · 18/04/2016 09:27

Hey all, congrats goinggrey, am pleased for you.

OTD is tomorrow but still BFN so have stopped the drugs and am calling it a day. I cannot keep injecting clexane for a non existent pregnancy!! TBH, the 2ww is so unpleasant I am actually just relieved that it is over and resolved.

If money and time were no object, I would quit my job tomorrow and try another cycle (this time with PGS and a few days of lazing after transfer) to make hay before my eggs are even older. As I didn't win the lottery at the weekend I think we may try FET in a cycle or two and then stop if that doesn't work out. I've read that because only one or two embryos in a cohort will be competent, women who fail in a fresh cycle have higher success rates in the subsequent FET but we shall see..
