Duggs thanks! Have now sorted intralipids for the day I'll be 6+0 and feel very happy with that!

nanny sorry, have never had an infection test... am sure someone will reply soon!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Mel3062 · 15/04/2014 14:11

Well got this from the man himself!!:
Thank you for your email. I appreciate your concern from the previous advise. You can stop the prednisolone or reduce it to 20 mg/ day if you want and see what happens. Actually Dr Quembi treats increased uterine NK cells with prednisolone.
Please let us know as soon as you get pregnant. Good Luck.
What do you think ladies? I may try 20 and see?

Arianrhod · 15/04/2014 14:17

duggs Just read your post on the other thread, so damn chuffed for you! :) :)

And village, very cautious congratulatory woohoo! :) I do wonder why Mr S doesn't do an IL from BFP regardless of whether you're 'high' or 'very high', but glad to hear you've got it booked anyway.

mel Are you thinking 20mg in terms of it not then disrupting your cycle? I couldn't say whether it would or not; I know 25mg certainly did mess with my cycles, but only after 3 or so months of doing it IIRC.

/waves to everyone, still lurking and reading when I can but things pretty bad with OH's Dad right now so not got mental energy for anything much.

Sorry to hear that ari :( it's so hard to know what to do. I was on 25 with mr s but only after ovulation not day 7 and uterine cells were high with it, of course it could of been anything I was taking at the time!

Belly D ... Have you caved or are you waiting until tomorrow ? Official test date isn't until next week is it?

BellyD · 17/04/2014 14:25

Hi Duggs, totally mentalling but am not going to test until Monday at the earliest, as have a big family weekend with my family and the in laws too. Don't feel in the slightest bit pg, but just full of hideous hormones, but we will have to wait and see. Thanks for thinking of me x

duggs1976 · 17/04/2014 15:56

Good idea just get through the weekend will be a distraction- and bet I've never felt pg when I actually was - felt vv pg when i wasn't so means nowt x

VillageMum · 17/04/2014 17:26

Oh belly I'll be crossing fingers for you on Monday!

Driving myself a bit mental with hpts. Since my BFP at 10/11 DPO on FRER I've done a daily test (foolish!!) and the line doesn't seem to be getting any darker. It's not very faint, but not as dark as the control. At least it isn't fading. But I'm worrying now that hcg isn't increasing as it should and/or that this will turn out to be a chemical. In my previous pgs the line always got progressively darker (though I've never used a FRER before, only ever a Sainsbury's own brand hpt or similar.) AF would have been due tomorrow... will just have to see what happens. A lady on the pred thread suggested (sensibly!) to test with the Clearblue test that dates in weeks instead, and see if the readings increase that way - oh, and just to do it weekly and stop testing daily! Blush. I've had nausea yesterday and today, though, so maybe a good sign? If anyone can talk some sense into me I'd appreciate it! Thanks ladies and sorry for the 'me me' post.

VillageMum · 18/04/2014 07:58

Ladies it looks like bad news for me. AF should be due today and though it hasn't arrived, I tested with a Clearblue digi this morning and got 'not pregnant'. The test's sensitivity is 25 miu. By today it should say '1-2 weeks'. And I'm still only getting a faint line on the sensitive hpts - there's been no progression at all since 10 DPO and I'm now 16 DPO. This does look like a chemical.

I've never had one before. Louise is away till next Thursday so can't ask for advice... What do I do? I'm thinking I should continue the 25mg pred and cyclogest until Tuesday (after bank holiday) and test again then in the hope against hope that this is just a case of very slow rising hcg (though in my heart I already know the answer), and try to speak to Cheryl/Mr S then. And in the meanwhile wait to see if AF arrives.

Any advice hugely appreciated. Sad If AF does arrive in the next week, what do I do re the pred? Do you just stop taking it after having been on it for only a fortnight to three weeks, or do you have to taper?

Mel3062 · 18/04/2014 08:03

So sorry to read this village I've been there :( if I were you I would still continue everything then try get scan or advice on Tuesday. I did that and gradually my test just got negative then I stopped meds but you still have BFp at mo so could be early for clearblue to show. I've never tapered the steroids, I take 40mg from day 7 then just stop, never been told by either mr s or dr g to taper. Best of luck honey x

VillageMum · 18/04/2014 08:05

Just one more question: will taking the cyclogest prevent AF from coming naturally? Should I continue with it too till Tuesday? Thanks ladies.

swlondonnanny · 18/04/2014 08:17

Oh Village sorry you are going through this but as Mel said as long as there is any line on pregnancy test I would keep taking everything you are on now. Can't do any harm.

Mel3062 · 18/04/2014 08:22

It seems to with me village (or could be the pred with my cycle :/) some ladies have af when on it but if you do get a neg test (hopefully you won't and it's just too early) then you can stop it knowing you did all you could and af should arrive a couple of days later x

VillageMum · 18/04/2014 08:51

mel and nanny thank you so much for this advice. I really appreciate you being there. Feeling very low right now. Sad

Mel3062 · 18/04/2014 08:56

Sending virtual hugs! I know sometimes I feel so down and alone and I consider everyone on here as my friends and it's a godsend as we all have been in similar situations.
The clearblue is not sensitive so you still have hope hun, really hoping it works out for you x

VillageMum · 18/04/2014 09:12

Thanks mel. Also for the pred advice - really helpful. Thanks for being there.

swlondonnanny · 18/04/2014 09:30

Oh Village I am so sorry , it is so upseting, that little feint line gives you so much hope and when it doesn't get darker it is just so painful.

duggs1976 · 18/04/2014 09:30

So sorry village Hmm I had a few chemicals the last one being last January and tbh now your HCG is under 25 this isn't viable. Personally I would stop pred tapering by 5 mg every few (4?)days and stop cyclogest. You want your body to be as least disrupted as possible and being as natural as possible gives the best chance of this. Is probably a chromosonal issue and your period will come soon. The only consolation I had was years ago people wouldn't even have known they were pregnant just a late, heavy period. Sorry to give conflicting advice but getting back to your "natural" is your best chance to get as normal a cycle as next time. Look after yourself and try to remember it is a numbers game hopefully the next embryo will be fine. Strong, progressive hpt lines are a v good indicator of a healthy embryo
Development. I have learnt this the hard way. Big hug you can get through these next days you know you can x

Pebbles73 · 18/04/2014 11:53

So sorry village, have had a couple of chemical pregnancies and it is so disappointing. The first one I had showed a really strong hpt so was very surprised when I went for a scan at 6wks and there was nothing to be found at all. The cyclogest had stopped af coming so had no clue that the pregnancy had failed. The second chemical only ever showed a very faint line that never progressed, it was VERY faint though so knew it was going nowhere and then af turned up and cyclogest hadn't stopped it that time so you never can tell! You need to do what feels right for you and if that's to carry on with drugs for a few more days and then test again at least you will have peace of mind.

Quick question to the ladies that did hidden infections testing, how long did it take for your sample to be delivered? I sent mine last Wednesday and has hit to Greece but still not delivered?!
