He said 6 months def not leave it a year.
Good luck nanny!
It is tricky as reading what prof quenby advises would help the uterine cells but not the blood ones? Though I guess combined with intralipid and ivig that may be enough, who knows. Something made me miscarry before the pred got involved :/

swlondonnanny · 12/04/2014 15:45

Duggs - am in London so that is a bit too far. Thank you. Might just go to see the previous acupuncturist I used to go to - need to see someone who actually talks as well not just uses needles

duggs1976 · 12/04/2014 15:47

Hoping bellys transfer went well and she is resting up before coming home with a new or couple of new potentials on board WinkWink x

swlondonnanny · 12/04/2014 15:49

Mel which protocol did prof Q put you on? Mine is cyclogest from day 7 post ovulation, do the test 7 days later, if positive start 20 mg Pred and after scan confirms uterine pregnancy start with fragmin injections.
If test negative stop cyclogest so period can start

duggs1976 · 12/04/2014 15:49

It might have been an unlucky flow of bad eggs caused by hormonal imbalance that then kicked off the nk cells because of the number of mc Mel?? That is the theory for me - although it seems you have something more with the tnf alpha thing?! How many months to go on dr g plan? Nanny i PM'ed you x

BellyD · 12/04/2014 16:18

Hi all, sorry you are struggling with everything Mel. Duggs' suggestion is a good one - write it all down and see if there is a pattern. If you think it is the Pred, then give that a miss until bfp, that has certainly worked for plenty of ladies on here. All these specialists are brilliant in their own way, but we have often come away more confused than we when we went in to see them although we have always felt like we have found an extra piece of the jigsaw at the same time. Certainly the thyroxine seems an odd one if your levels were normal. Good luck with whatever your next step is.

We have two grade A morulas back on board and three more top grade frosties plus one other, so feeling really hopeful. The clinic were great, all really friendly and kind and I had an acupuncture session post transfer at vast expense The dr was really positive about our chances (80%) and otd is 23/4, a bit worried my IVIG will have run out by then but will call ZW on Monday when we are home. Had lunch in the sun and now resting in the hotel. We will just have to wait and see.....

Mel3062 · 12/04/2014 16:25

Interesting nanny thanks she just recommended cyclogest 2x daily from positive test until 32 weeks!! And clexane 20mg from positive scan until 36 weeks. My prem daughter puts me at high risk all the way through!
The humira seems to of lowered tnf as dr g wasn't worried. However we did find we need neupogen and proxeed for hubby's DNA frag and of course I needed lit so that could've been a factor too. I'll def keep with the intralipids though.
On month 2 at mo but just wish my cycle was behaving properly then I wouldn't be questioning the pred or cyclogest!
Yes hope belly is ok, exciting times at the mo x

Mel3062 · 12/04/2014 16:28

Cross posted! Thanks belly I think I may do that, my own trial and error as don't think dr g will be helpful except want another blood test!
Belly sounds very promising!! Yey! X

duggs1976 · 12/04/2014 17:30

Ohh belly - bloody fantastic to hear. Crikey- sounds like it couldn't have gone better. So, so pleased GrinGrin safe flight home and now to try to get through the next 12 days - eat lots of hot cross buns and Easter eggs and hopefully you'll have some lovely news. Well done xx

Pebbles73 · 12/04/2014 18:01

So pleased to see all is still going well Duggs, are you getting a bump yet ?!? [smile ]

Wow Belly your chances sound brilliant, wishing you lots of luck.

Mel sorry to hear you are having a bit of a mare with your cycle, you certainly seem to be taking a lot of stuff.

swlondonnanny · 12/04/2014 21:46

Wow, am really impressed with Serum! Only sent the form in the afternoon and already have a reply! Looks like the first step is the infections test. Can I ask how those of you who had it done you sent it off? Just Royal mail? Can't remember sorry, was it Pebbles sending it a few days ago?
Mel had a quick chat with my BIL - who happens to be a gynecologist - and he thinks that just cyclogest wouldn't stop your period from starting and it is more likely that it is the pred which delays the ovulation and so makes your cycle longer - which would fit with FF saying that you only ovulated 4 or 5 days ago.
He also said that if it was me in your situation - timing of DTD /ovulation/ BFN etc he would just tell me to stop cyclogest and pred as he knows my med history etc. Hope you don't mind me discussing you with him...

Pebbles73 · 12/04/2014 21:52

I sent mine Royal Mail registered so I could track it, cost about £8. Checked it on track and trace today (sent it Wednesday) and is now in Greece just waiting delivery .

What does you bil think of these hidden infections tests?

swlondonnanny · 12/04/2014 22:58

Thank you Pebbles did you have to tell them what was in it? Or sign anything at post office?
I am not English - live in UK though - and my BIL is in central Europe . They don't do this menstrual blood infection test at home. But had a few interesting conversations with him and his brother ( another gynecologist) about hormonal support in pregnancy. His brother is following Napro techology which seems to have a good success with helping to concieve and also deal with miscarriages. They use steroids as well + other stuff ( have to have a look again what they do actually) but want to have any possible test I can have done in Athens first.
And then try naturally for maybe 6 months and see what happens.
What are your plans after this hidden infection test pebbles? You planing an ivf in athens?

Mel3062 · 13/04/2014 06:02

Put your package down as a gift!! I must say serum are very fast with things :)
Dont mind at all thanks I'm grateful for any advice!! It does seem to fit with pred I guess as last month I stopped all med and af came in 2 days, this time I stopped just cylogest and I'm on day 3 no sign but then last time it was day 37 and now only day 32 if that would make a diff seeing as maybe only 6dpo?? I think I'll stop everything today as I know I can't be preg.
Is a long cycle a bad thing? Would af come in about a week?
I think I'll email mr g anyway and let him know what's happening and forward prof q advice x

Mel3062 · 13/04/2014 06:12

Period predicted day 40 :(

swlondonnanny · 13/04/2014 06:27

Oh Mel it would be if you only ovulated 6 days ago. As I think the second half of your cycle doesn't generally change ( maybe by day or 2). My understanding of pred is that it can change the lenght of a cycle by changing when you ovulate. Once you ovulated it doesn't really matter if you keep taking it or not - from the cycle's lenght POW ( hope you see what I mean?) I always believed that we were told to stop pred after negative test just because after taking a certain dose for more than 2 weeks you need to wean yourself of it ( not to let your period to come...)
Am trying to arrange an appointment with an endocrinologist as my thyroid is messed up after my GP was 'playing' with my dose so will ask all this questions than.

Mel3062 · 13/04/2014 07:04

Thanks nanny just had abit of red so I think stopping the cyclogest must of done the trick and think af is on her way. All that wasted Dtd :(
Now I don't know whether to go doc and get thyroid check ( I may do that anyway)
Do i tell dr g what's happened but then hel be cross that I stopped cyclogest :/
I do think it may be the pred, don't really want a 40 day cycle so may need to come off it, I think he needs to see prof q advice too.
Should I stick to it and have a 40 day cycle? What should I tell him?
I'm on pred 3 weeks of my cycle so get a week off it!

Mel3062 · 13/04/2014 07:34

With my normal lateul phase af today does mean ovulation day 16 as I thought originally but don't know if it would of come today on it's own without stopping cyclogest umm
Next cycle I'm Dtd every few days from post ovulation test!!
It's so hard as you daren't stop cyclogest just in case... But then if there is remote chance you're preg surely it wouldn't make you bleed of you stop it?
Maybe I won't tell mr g that I stopped, maybe just mention I think it's lengthening cycle and what prof q said??

Pebbles73 · 13/04/2014 09:59

Nanny they asked me what was in it and I said a gift as advised by Ari and they didn't ask me to fill it in.

Our plans are to probably have donor egg ivf as we have already done four rounds with my eggs, I overstimulated most of the time so they were generally frozen. So within those four rounds I have had seven transfers. Unfortunately for most of them didn't know I had immune issues as they were on the nhs and then paid for a cycle at New Life.

Hope you get it sorted Mel !!

swlondonnanny · 14/04/2014 11:44

All sent !!! Lovely lady at the post office insisted that she needed to know what kind of "gift" I am sending... Easter eggs were the only things I could think off[

swlondonnanny · 14/04/2014 11:45

How are you today Mel ?

Mel3062 · 14/04/2014 12:21

Nanny that made me laugh!! Melted chocolate umm
I'm ok thanks, af here as is a headache!
Still trying to work out this email to mr g x

VillageMum · 14/04/2014 13:33

belly hope you're feeling great and that you get good news soon; those embies sound fantastic and your chances just excellent!

mel so glad to hear AF has arrived.

nanny good luck with your test results.

duggs I've posted on the pred thread - fab scan news! I'm so thrilled for you!!

Ari how are you doing?

As for me: tested at the weekend and was amazed, excited (and inevitably anxious) to get a BFP. Smile This was SO cycle five for us. Thanks so much for all your support, ladies, and to everyone who shared anecdotes about their own late SO success. I'm still slightly apprehensive that AF will still arrive this Friday regardless and can't quite believe that we've managed it.

Just a quick question to anyone who has been on Mr S's High NK cells protocol. I understand that we need to have a scan followed by intralipids in week 6-7. I've booked both for the day I'll be 6+5. Does this sound about right, or is it a bit late in the 6-7 week? Was hoping to book for 6+4 but that day is a nightmare to manage. Urgh. I think I'm mentalling already. Blush Any feedback hugely appreciated.

swlondonnanny · 14/04/2014 14:59

Just a thought - did any of you who had the hidden infection test done get the negative result - as in no infection found?
