Still early days, definitely, Village. Mine was equally gleaming at 10dpo.
You are so right, Ari, and today I haven't tested. Because logically I do know, what with the Hook effect, etc., things can only get less reassuring the further along I get, so there's no point. And Clear Blue goes no further than 3+, so again nothing to be gained.
How is your sleep, Ari? I am finding myself waking repeatedly throughout the night on pred but fortunately going back to sleep each time so getting enough sleep overall.
And how is everyone else? Mel? Belly? Sue? Pebbles?

Pebbles73 · 24/09/2014 12:47

Sorry for bfn village but still early days!

Brown there is nothing like a row of lovely positive hpt's!! Good luck for your appointment.

Well we are back to Athens (should get dual citizenship at this rate!) on Friday for (fingers crossed) embryo transfer on Saturday. Have been really stressed out with work and family problems for the last week and not sleeping do not the best preparation!

Waves to all.

swlondonnanny · 24/09/2014 13:23

Village sorry to hear that but as everyone else said 10DPO is early. Could you remind me what your protocol is ? Are you supposed to stop pred now? Do you need intralipids on BFP?
Pebbles everything cossed for you for FET. Is Serum dealing with your immune treatment as well? Or are you following Dr S plan?

VillageMum · 24/09/2014 14:03

Thanks brown, Pebbles, nanny - will go on wetting those sticks for two more days.

Pebbles get a good night's sleep on Friday and you'll be good to go! Wishing you the very best for Saturday's transfer.

nanny I take pred from ovulation for 10 days, test, then stop pred if BFN. Retest at 11 and 12 DPO just to be sure. According to the High NK cells protocol I only need intralipids at 6-7 weeks, not at BFP, so have not yet had the pleasure.

Arianrhod · 24/09/2014 14:35

Sleep is still awful brown ... I do go straight back to sleep each time, but I only sleep on average 20 mins before I have to turn over again, so I'm just exhausted all the time. God knows how I'll cope once the babes are here! I did look into Sominex, but I'm a bit worried about taking it to be honest, in case it affects the babes.

pebbles Trust me, stress seems to have no effect whatsoever on pregnancies for me - I was majorly stressed when DD was conceived, and all the way through her pregnancy, and she was just fine! All fingers and toes crossed for your ET on Saturday!!

I feel for you, Ari, I really do. You're not getting any deep sleep essentially, just at a time when you want to be stocking up a bit before the babies are born. Yes, Sominex seems to come into a similar category to melatonin, where you can find lots of anecdotal evidence of people taking it, and of course it's prescribed for morning sickness. It's so annoying that you can't even have chamomile tea, which I normally find good when made really strong.
What about the natural melatonin route, via kiwis and exotic fruit? I think pineapple has the highest melatonin levels, although not good for indigestion maybe. Cherries high too. A fruit salad before bed? You can also regulate your own melatonin levels by making sure you expose yourself to lots of sunlight in the day and then limiting it before bedtime - no computers, backlit devices, etc.

brownstag · 25/09/2014 08:26

The best of luck for Saturday, Pebbles.

BellyD · 25/09/2014 16:44

Brown congrats on your 3+ - hope you have managed to step away from the tests now and wait for your appointment on Monday. Good luck, hope it goes well.

Village sorry to hear about your bfn yesterday hope that you get good news when you test tomorrow.

Pebbles best of luck for your return trip to Greece and a smooth FET. I will be thinking of you and feel really positive for you this time. Can I just ask you a question? Are Serum in control of your cycle so to speak, did you have to take an injection to stop ovulating, or are you having the FET as part of your natural cycle? I am just curious, as we are almost ready to start thinking about heading back to Spain. I went for my hysto follow up meeting today and have to have a saline scan next week just to check everything is ok.

Waves to Ari, Duggs, Sue Nanny, Mel and anyone else I have missed off!

swlondonnanny · 25/09/2014 18:04

Belly where do you have your saline scan? is it at Zita West?

BellyD · 25/09/2014 22:12

Nanny I had one with someone called Bill Smith, I think, who Dr N at ZW recommended - he picked up my septum. This one I am having as a follow up from my hysto at The Boston Clinic (in Marylebone, not actually Boston!). Let me know if you'd like more details.

suemays · 26/09/2014 20:44

village have you tested again?

pebbles good luck in Athens, I'm glad you decided to keep going as you still have a good chance it will work.

brown good news on the tests going in the right direction. I normally test once a week once it's gone to 3+ for some reassurance.

belly hope it all works out for you in Spain too. Would be great if all of the 'old timers' had some good news.

swlondonnanny · 26/09/2014 21:24

Thank you Belly
Village have you tested again?
Had my first ever intralipids today - was a bit weird to see white liquid coming into my arm. It was all very relaxing at Zita West, thankfully.
Next one in 2 weeks time....

swlondonnanny · 27/09/2014 07:33

Pebbles best of the luck today

suemays · 27/09/2014 07:59

nanny I used to look forward to having intrallipids at ZW. Which nurse was there? I spent ages chatting to the regular ones!

VillageMum · 27/09/2014 09:00

Pebbles keeping fingers, toes, eyelashes and every other blessed thing crossed for you today!!

nanny glad the intralipids were relaxing - you're on your way now!

Belly, nanny and sue thanks for asking about the testing. Well, I had a very faint line on a FRER at 11DPO, and a slightly darker one at 12DPO. Tested again this morning (13DPO) and while the line doesn't look much darker than yesterday's it did appear more quickly. Not sure if that counts as progression or not... After the chemical I had in April I'm very wary, and fear this may be another. At 13DPO I'd expect a darker line than this, but on the other hand, AF isn't due till Tuesday. Guess all I can do is check again tomorrow and hope to see some sort of development!

brown, how are you doing? Not long now till your scan. Hope you are managing to relax this weekend.

Waves to mel, ari, duggs and anyone I've missed!

Pebbles73 · 27/09/2014 10:47

Thanks everyone, just off to have them put back in shortly if everything is ok.

Belly it is being done with my natural cycle so just been taking steroids, anti b's and anti inflammatory for two weeks.

Village it's such am anxious time waiting for those lines to get darker, fingers crossed for you.

swlondonnanny · 27/09/2014 14:17

Sue didn't ger the nurse's name but she said she is there every Friday. Will ask next time. When you got your BFP how quickly did they manage to fit you in for intralipids? Also did you have your 7 week scan at ZW?
Village that's great news Smile Hope the line is going to be really dark next time you test - even better you'll get + on clear blue digital.
Brown how are you?

VillageMum · 27/09/2014 18:20

Pebbles hope you are putting your feet up now and taking things easy, maybe with a few olives on the side!

Nanny thanks. I'm going nowhere near Clearblue Digital until AF is actually due next week - don't want to risk the disappointment! I'm approaching this veeery cautiously and sceptically.

brownstag · 28/09/2014 08:16

Village, amazing news! Did you have any symptoms or was it a complete surprise? And yes, the speed of the appearance of the line definitely does mean progression. Not only is that my (very extensive) experience but the manufacturer of the tests I complained about said the same thing; that sometimes there isn't enough dye on a test for it to appear much darker but it should appear more quickly the further on you get. Did you test today? Maybe you have long Fallopian tubes, that you tend to get BFPs later on :)
Hope all went smoothly, Pebbles, and you're relaxing now. I so hope this works out for you.
How are you, nanny?

VillageMum · 28/09/2014 12:52

Brown bless you for being so encouraging, and for sharing your knowledge. I'm feeling very low today. Yes, I did test again... the FRER line is no darker today than yesterday though it still comes up quickly. It is faint though, at 14DPO, and that can't be a good sign. Let me fess up that for the last three days I've also been testing on Superdrug HPT (10miu) and internet cheapies (10miu), just to have a comparison. The line on the Superdrug test is a fraction darker today than yesterday, but still very, very faint. Had no line at all on the ICs for the past two days, and today there is a ghost of one. So, go figure. There probably is a teensy tiny bit of progression on two test brands out of three, BUT it's pathetically small, and if I'm honest with myself I have to say that this looks like another chemical. Those lines are just SO faint! I'm still taking pred and cyclogest. Think I'd better ring Louise tomorrow and ask her what I should do. I'm guessing she'll tell me to carry on with the meds and keep on testing for a few more days. In my heart I know though that I need to brace myself for a disappointment. It's all just so sad. Sad

VillageMum · 28/09/2014 13:01

Oh yes and brown you asked about symptoms... sore boobs, faint nausea, some cramping, so I did wonder. If only these pregnancies would progress!!

Pebbles73 · 28/09/2014 13:46

Back home and slightly worried as I got a bit panicky on the plane . Is really annoying as flown all my life and in recent years started to get a bit of a phobia about it so worried all that adrenaline won't have done the embryis any favours!

Is annoying as other than that feeling quite calm about the whole thing...

swlondonnanny · 28/09/2014 16:16

Village sorry for the upsetting situation with the tests. But from what you are saying it sounds like there is a progress. IC I don't think they are as sensitive as they claim to be. Brown had the same issue with them, they were showing + only after other tests did. The only accurate way would be to have blood test -is that possible for you at all? Everything crossed for you ....
Pebbles oh, sorry to hear you are worried. Now you are at home you can relax , hopefully. Did you take any time off work? Or does work keep your mind off things?
Brown I am fine, thank you. Don't know if that was caused by the intralipids but I am incredibly hungry and thirsty since.... Will see if the same thing repeats next time....
Best of luck with your appointment tomorrow, hope your DH is going with you...

brownstag · 28/09/2014 16:21

Don't worry, Pebbles! If stress is anything to go by, I would never ever have conceived even once! Every woman must go through periods of stress when they're trying to conceive, daily even; it was temporary and has passed.
Village, obviously I can't see the tests as you do but I know that I suffered from unrealistic expectations in the early days of testing. I think I was expecting the line to go from faint to full strength in a matter of 4 or 5 days and it just doesn't. I can say that on a normal 25miu test I wasn't getting lines consistently similar to the control until 5 weeks. Until 14dpo I was only getting lines on FRER, Superdrug and Numark. Nothing had appeared on either 10miu or 25miu cheapies until that point. I do hope your feeling is wrong.
We all look to each significant hurdle that we've had in the past and think we can't get over it. Having got over 5+3, I'm now terrified of 8+4, only having once got past that. Reading the stats on percentages of normal eggs in the forties yesterday really didn't help either! But we have to remember everything we've done to counter those effects of aging, with melatonin, coenzye q10, DHEA, etc.

brownstag · 28/09/2014 16:27

Interesting, Nanny. I'm with you the eating; steroid greed has now kicked in big time. No, DH won't be with me. He's never been once as far as I can recall. But I will let him off, as he needs to pick up our DS and most of our other family seem to be on holiday.
