Yes, I would say 6 definitely. Enough to be in the high period. For some of my cycles, at 9dpo my temperature would be falling already, and what you don't want is for progesterone to be in the ambiguous zone. Isn't it above 30 to show you've ovulated? I had one that was 26 or something - I knew I must have ovulated but couldn't tell if it was low in general or just falling.
Just wanted to say, pebbles, that we're still thinking of you a lot. Sometimes it seems so callous the way the threads move on so quickly to other, even trivial, topics.

brownstag · 06/08/2014 07:00

That wasn't meant to say that what we were discussing was trivial, Nanny. Foot in mouth as usual. Anyway, I hope you all know what I mean.

swlondonnanny · 06/08/2014 07:51

Brown you are right, OPK, progesterone levels and HPT are nothing compared to ivf which didn't work but hope Pebbles doesn't mind us discussing those things. This TTC and miscarriage business is so lonely and dificult to discuss in RL with people who haven't been through it.

Arianrhod · 06/08/2014 09:52

IC = Internet Cheapie :)

belly glad to hear the hysto went well, and their findings correlated with what was discovered before. Now rest up and let yourself heal before worrying about next steps! :)

Me, taking one day firmly at a time, feeling like a bloomin' elephant but everyone keeps saying 'oh you have such a neat bump'. Are they kidding? My belly precedes me into the room!!! (not complaining, just ... well ... huge!)

brownstag · 06/08/2014 10:44

That's great, Ari. How many weeks are you now?
Yes, of course, Nanny, this place is a godsend. Where else can obsessive testing seem relatively normal, for instance?
Well, I really hope my lh peak was a real one. If it was real, it was very brief, so maybe I caught the tail end of it, as I had one definite positive on the 20miu yesterday and didn't bother testing with the 40. Today all is negative. Usually I get positives for 2 days, the second of which has a purple, almost black line and I haven't had that. Only time will tell. But we're going to get busy nevertheless. And I'm going to take pred this month as I don't think I've tried the melatonin + pred combination.

duggs1976 · 06/08/2014 13:33

Belly good they found things. Angry it has taken this long for you to find out. Jesus. Hope you feel like you are moving forward. You also have some good grade frosties like pebbles don't you?
I'm ok 29 wks this week. Better for a bit of a temperature drop. He is head down so pushing on my pubic bone. Nice.
A good friend who is year older than me messaged to say they were pg 13 wks. They got married in March. Surprised at my initial reaction still as still felt the familiar pang of " how come some folk will never, ever even experience 2 mths of testing for a pregnancy let alone anything else." Felt awful as I wish this experience we've all had and are having on anyone and thought those feelings would evaporate. But they don't seem to. I'm v happy for them and another couple for DH and I to hang out with with a similar age baby, but still. The pain and turmoil will probably be around for a long long time I guess. Hope you ladies are doing ok. Nanny remind me what are you waiting for now re next steps - is it dr g results?

duggs1976 · 06/08/2014 13:34

Oops meant "on no one"
Rather than wishing our experience on "anyone"!

swlondonnanny · 06/08/2014 14:15

Duggs it's LAD and KIR tests through Dr G. Did you have them done - prob not KIR as he only started with it recently.
Just had a letter about LAD results and as I expected they are very low so will need LIT - in principle very happy to have it but we simply can't afford it Sad Think Dr George only uses intralipids for it but can't go to see him as was told when I called that he will only offer treatment if we do an IVF through them at Zita West.
Am mightly pissed off with all of it, really...
Also waiting for blood clotting results from St Mary's, have appointment in 2 weeks time.
It's so good to hear from you and Ari about how your pregnancies continue - always gives me a bit of hope that one day it will be me 30 weeks pregnant Smile

brownstag · 06/08/2014 14:56

I don't think that feeling ever goes away, Duggs, even when you have your baby in your arms. It's a bit like a dramatic weight loss: you always still feel fat in your head, even when you can see in the mirror you're slim.
How much does LIT cost, nanny? Could you just use it with IVF and pull out all the stops for that?

Arianrhod · 06/08/2014 15:30

Mmm I wouldn't put too much store by those low LAD results nanny - I've been told by many an expert that if you haven't made it to at least second trimester pregnancy in the last 6 months then your LAD results will be low, and should be expected to be so. I know some consultants swear by LIT, but others say it's largely a waste of time. I too had very low LAD results, had LIT after LIT with my last pregnancy, and it made no difference at all. Just my tuppence worth. Oh, btw, LIT is MUCH cheaper over at Serum .. think it was 100ish euros a time, and only 4 injections each time.

duggs Like brown says I really don't think that feeling will ever completely go away, even once you have your LO. You've been through so much, and it really just isn't fair that some people have it so damn easy. Unfortunately that's just life.

23 weeks for me here and feeling two lots of wriggling is just plain weird!! They don't bother me at night though, which is just as well as I can't bl**dy well sleep anyway!!

OP posts:
swlondonnanny · 06/08/2014 15:51

Thank you Ari that's what I thought as well but why does Dr G bothers with it? Have to have a look at dr Beer's book when I get home to read about it again. Do you by any chance remember how low were yours? My highest of them was 4.8% !
Brown Think Mel had them done at dr G and they were £850 + £260 for DH's blood tests before. + retest. Oh and it is highly likely to need more than 1!
It's €250 in Athens + DH's tests. But it add tickets/accomodation for both of us it is not really much cheaper...

brownstag · 06/08/2014 16:23

I'm very glad I haven't had mine tested then! That's awful.
Ari, have you tried promethazine hydrochloride? It's a sedating antihistamine given as an antisickness drug in pregnancy and available for insomnia as Sominex. Class C. I never found it particularly sedating but with melatonin I was comatose for 48 hours! Obviously you'd want to discuss it with a doctor or pharmacist but just fyi, the dose of over-the-counter Sominex is only 20mg, but you can take up to 50mg for ordinary insomnia. I'm not sure about in pregnancy though. Depends how desperate you are, I suppose, as to whether you'd want to take yet another drug.
The other thing is that with two babies your high levels of progesterone are probably making your brain too hot for sleep, so anything to cool down should help.

Mel3062 · 06/08/2014 21:20

Lovely to hear the pregnancys are blooming!
Sorry you need lit nanny :(
Brown I tend to ovulate day 10/11 now blinking age changing cycles :(
Pebbles still in thoughts
Ari going to head over to lanzerote! Beach is lovely but yes windy though hot when that subsides it's quite nice at times! Haven't mentioned the Greece bit to him yet!! X

swlondonnanny · 08/08/2014 15:26

So I got my KIR results and have no idea what they mean. Anyone here understands what KIR results are all about?
Brown how are you getting on with Ovulation tests? My superdrugs ones are still positive - 4 days now!
I really don't understand my cycles anymore and have no idea if I ovulated or not - normally can say by pain but not this cycle. Well at least EWCM is finished so based on that I'd say I ovulated already?

brownstag · 08/08/2014 16:35

Sorry, I know nothing about KIR.
My ovulation tests are still negative, which is good that I'm now definitely out of the continuous-positive or near-positive syndrome.
It's not unheard of for me to have positives 3 days in row.
You could send me a photo of them on your phone? I've developed a new technique for telling if it's positive. Turn it upside down. Sometimes a test that has appeared positive looks much weaker if you compare the line the other way up!

brownstag · 08/08/2014 16:36

(And my temp is slowly rising ...)

brownstag · 11/08/2014 07:16

Have you found out about your KIR results yet, nanny?
And do you think you did ovulate?
I did but my temps are lower than last time but I think I may have worked out why. Last time I had no proliferative phase and therefore no oestrogen, so just unopposed progesterone. Therefore higher temps.
How are you, Mel?
How is everyone else?

swlondonnanny · 11/08/2014 07:48

Brown looks like I am missing one receptor (whatever that means) but still have the others.
Will have to book appointment with Dr G (once we have any money...) for after my appointment with St Mary's next week on Tue. Am 100% sure he will suggest LIT treatment and nupogen for that one missing receptor. I genuinely just want to try steroids/intralipids for a few cycles (+ whatever treatment St Mary's will suggest) and see how I get on with that.
I am no sure if I ovulated, no EWCM anymore. Didn't keep the ovulation tests but I always look at the other way round as well ( as you suggested) and they were possitive. So will assume I ovulated on Wed which would make me 5DPO today.
Had the most annoying period like cramps yesterday evening, even went to check if my period started...
Ordered my favourite amazon ovulation tests so have enough to use next cycle and avoid all this confusion about O tests
So are you testing on wed ? Wink
Well, I am 39 today, never thought I would be still dealing with ttc no 1 . But that's life I guess Smile
Hello to everyone

brownstag · 11/08/2014 08:13

Happy birthday! 39 is still so young in my eyes. Will you be celebrating?
Maybe those cramps were something promising happening.
I just put in today's temperature and FF moved my ov day from day 13 to 14 so I'm 4dpo. I had a massive spike yesterday but that was purely alcohol-related. That's a bummer though, as we didn't do it on day 14 (dtd day 10, 12 and 13). I think that's wrong personally, though, as I had no EWCM by day 14, and I invariably ovulate the day after a positive opk.

suemays · 11/08/2014 17:52

brown I never have ewcm on ovulation day, always the day before ! You never know you might have caught the egg!

VillageMum · 12/08/2014 10:14

Happy birthday nanny. You are young, young!! I started ttc my second child at 38, finally (after miscarriages) got there at 42. I don't care what the general medical lore out there is, until you've hit 43 or so you are still in with an excellent chance. Early forties = still fertile, under 40 = spring chicken!! Best of luck for this cycle - hope, as brown says, that those cramps turn out to be good news.

brown that all sounds exciting... fingers crossed!

brownstag · 12/08/2014 18:55

Thanks Sue and Village. FF has changed its mind again to day 13 so that's okay. ;)

swlondonnanny · 13/08/2014 09:21

Thank you brown and village Smile
So 7dpo, peed on test and of course BFN. That was recommended by my local RMC, every other day from 7dpo. So don't have to waste any test tomorrow Smile

brownstag · 13/08/2014 09:22

Ditto! Grin
