Ari how lovely! What a great news Smile Enjoy your holidays

brownstag · 14/07/2014 16:55

I've just had them back and they were LH 100 and FSH 23.3. The doctor seemed to think those results could indicate ovulation as LH wouldn't usually be that high in perimenopause. I hadn't told him about the period though and being on day 3 though!

Pebbles73 · 14/07/2014 17:25

So sorry to hear your news Mel.

Wow twin boys Ari!! Can't believe you are 20 wks already, seems very quick to me but probably not so much for you. Smile. Is great to hear from you and hope you have a lovely holiday.

It is very hot here particularly in the centre of Athens so we are just being lazy between appointments and going to our private beach at the hotel, has been lovely and so glad we stayed at the coast. Had a scan today and my eggs are ready do egg collection is now Wednesday which is very quick! Have to go to the Leto hospital tomorrow though for a heart scan calked a triplex scan, because I have svt (electrical fault with the heart which makes it occasionally go extremely fast ) and a bit of murmur they want me to have it before the heavy sedation for egg collection.

swlondonnanny · 14/07/2014 17:30

Brown wow! No wonder that your OPK were really dark! So what did the doctor suggest? Can you get 'day 21' test done 7 days after last test? No idea what FSH should be like at ovulation...
Maybe the period wasn't a period but some kind of ovulation bleed?

brownstag · 14/07/2014 17:33

This is very odd as I pressed refresh loads of times and I only seem to get to see the replies once I've posted mine so it looks like I'm ignoring you all!
Sorry about that!
Ari, that's fabulous news. And Boys are great! I was surprised when I found out I was having one, as we are nearly all girls in my family but now I can't imagine what it's like to have a girl. How very exciting.
Enjoy your stay, pebbles and good luck for Wednesday. Those eggs are bursting to get out! Sounds like they are taking very good care of you out there.

Mel3062 · 14/07/2014 18:05

Thanks ladies
Wow ari wonderful news!!!enjoy your hol. I think that's gone fast too!
It is odd that I seem to get a positive test on tues!! Oh well tonight and wed will have to do!
Pebbles good luck hope this is it for you.
Waves to everyone x

Mel3062 · 14/07/2014 18:08

Yes I get pains but they can be on and off for a few days. I get ECM too but not when I use my mooncup I also find it hard to know what Is what sticky, creamy etc so I just try as much as poss when I have it! Too much info sorry :/

brownstag · 14/07/2014 18:34

Yes, I really don't know what that bleed was Nanny. It stopped very suddenly which makes me think that was when the progesterone kicked in. Apparently the upper range for lh at ovulation is 95.6 (mine 100) and 21.5 for FSH (mine 23.3) so only just a bit higher than that. I was hoping he would suggest a day 21 test but he didn't ... I got the impression he felt I'd wasted enough of the NHS's time and money already.

Mel3062 · 14/07/2014 18:36

Aw brown I wish I could offer some advice!

Mel3062 · 15/07/2014 05:41

Day 13 and still high on moniter which is fine as oh away tonight! Though the lines look the same to me! Though he said he may be away thurs noooo!!!

swlondonnanny · 15/07/2014 06:23

Mel every other day is fine.
Brown hopefully you normal period will start next week and you'll get your normal cycle back (unless you managed to DTD at the right time and it will be BFP instead)
Pebbles sounds like all is going according to plan - even better.
Well I did the FRER and it is BFN ( even though clear blue has a very very faint line!!!) So will take it as BFN.
Can't wait what Dr G will say today - about my blood test results I mean not HPT

brownstag · 15/07/2014 09:33

Thanks Mel, and Nanny. No chance of a BFP unfortunately as no DTDing as I had 'AF'.
A very faint line on a Clear Blue is hopeful though? I've read on here some people prefer them as the clearer results. Good you've got your appointment to day though; onwards and upwards. Good luck today.
Woe up at 5.20 and didn't go back to sleep as I was thinking too much about my bloody hormones! Wondering if I'd had a cyst, and that impending ovulation caused it to burst (though I don't recall any particular pain) and bleed - but so much blood that it seemed like AF is odd.
Mel, with your internet cheapies, do you use the sensitive ones? 20miu?
I've just bought the 40miu ones and actually they are better because an ambiguous result on a sensitive one is much more clear on the 40miu, and as I've just proved with my blood test (100), exceeding 40miu is still more than sufficient to test for ovulation.

swlondonnanny · 15/07/2014 15:04

Hmm, still need to have LAD and KIR tests done! Have had enough of tests, I really just want some sort of treatment...
And deep breath...

brownstag · 15/07/2014 15:05

I can imagine. But that will be everything covered now. What's KIR?

swlondonnanny · 15/07/2014 15:09

Brown yes that's what I though last night actually - maybe a burst cyst? But without a scan you will never know.
What I though as well is that you should mention your bleed as whenever I go to Dr which is gynae connected they ask me if I bleed between periods - and clearly based on your test you ovulated so that bleed couldn't have been your period ( does this make any sense?)

swlondonnanny · 15/07/2014 15:11

God knows what we'll get told next time... Kir is a test which if it comes back 'bad' they give you nupogen for...

Pebbles73 · 15/07/2014 17:46

Nanny so sorry it seems to be bfn and hope you get your treatment plan sorted soon.

Brown hope you get done sleep tonight, wish I could offer some advice...,..

BellyD · 15/07/2014 18:05

Ari fab news about your scan. I am sure it won't take you long to get used to boys! Have a wonderful holiday. Thanks for the hysto advice. My heart is telling me we should go to Greece, but I know the clinic closes in August and I imagine it would be hard to get out there before the end of July. My head says there must be the expertise in this country, but I don't want to waste anymore valuable time. Seeing George on Thursday so I will see what he says and take it from there.

Pebbles glad that all is going well and you are enjoying your downtime on the beach. Great that they are thoroughly checking things out before your egg collection. Best of luck for tomorrow.

Mel so sorry to hear your sad news Sad. I am afraid I can't offer you and Brown any advice on the whole ovulation issue as no sticks ever worked for us, although the duo monitor did.

Nanny, how frustrating to have more tests, but if they find something then you will be relieved. Did they do an HCG test for good measure?

Hi to anyone else lurking. Duggs are you out there? How are you doing?

Mel3062 · 15/07/2014 19:15

Umm nanny that's odd that you have a line on cb though.
Yes I know every couple of days is good but I'm trying to do smep and it never seems to time out right!
Aw nanny more expense too :( but I felt at least it could be ruled out.
Yes I get the v sensitive ones, interesting what you say about the 40 ones!:)

swlondonnanny · 16/07/2014 06:01

Mel maybe it's a boy so my pee only reacts to blue tests? ( Hahaha - Hysterically laughing to myself)
Sorry that was silly but couldn't resist Grin
On more seroius note - how likely is it that a GP will do a pregnancy blood test for me? Am at wits end with the tests....
Have done something called predictor test ( cheapest they had in local pharmacy) which is meant to work 4days early (today) and it has a feint line ??? Looks like evap with a hint of pink, was there straight away though...
I am going mental, aren't I?
Should have asked Dr G to do one yesterday but I honestly didn't think about it at all
Pebbles hope the egg collection went well and you got a good number of perfect eggs

swlondonnanny · 16/07/2014 06:32

Grrr... Just read the reviews and everyone said that predictor is a crap test which can give false positives ( how on earth is that possible???)
There goes me feeling positive for the whole of 30mins...

Mel3062 · 16/07/2014 06:35

That made me laugh nanny! You have to laugh or you'd go mad!!your gp could only say no. I had to have one and the nurse did it or they could give you a form for the hospital? If dr g knows he insists on it so you could ask him to send a form like I had to do.
It still sounds hopeful.
Monitor is still high for me today!
Pebbles thinking of you.
Had a long talk with my daughter about ttc at 2.30 am! She never discusses it and it was actually good to talk!

Mel3062 · 16/07/2014 06:39

I thought evaps hAd no colour? Plus it's not the first test you've done is it so they can't all be evaps?! How many dpo are you? Try a digi. Id be buying them all!

duggs1976 · 16/07/2014 06:40

Wow it's busy on here again. Belly I'm speechless. Clearly NLC have no ideas about anatomy. I had a hysto at st Mary's as they thought I had one too ( dr s didn't agree). I didn't but I know they do them but was NHS. Pebbles very best of luck honey Grin
Nanny, Mel and brown I hope you get some well deserved luck . Wow 2 boys Ari ShockShock how exciting... I'm ok 26 wks tomorrow. Nothing much to say really... Still reading your posts and hoping you get some positive news.

brownstag · 16/07/2014 07:04

Nanny, I realy feel for you. Tests just drive you mad! Sadly I know on the blue-cross-type tests evaporation lines can indeed be coloured very strongly. I would say FRER is the gold standard so try another of those, although personally speaking I have lost count of much money I've wasted on them, having had a promising line on another cheaper test and rushed out to buy one. What dpo are you now? I don't think my own doctor would do an hcg test unless there was a possibility of missed miscarriage or something untoward going on but you may be more lucky.
I'll be joining you in mentalling later when my fsh urine cassettes arrive. Woke up at 5.20 again ...
I do know what you mean about telling the doctor about the bleeding. It's because I couldn't bear him to say 'fsh 23 on day 3? You are in perimenopause'. But now I've had 6 days of raised temps and more sure I ovulated, I'm more happy to tell him!
The only thing that is keeping me sane is looking at the Bemyparent website and weeping over all the children needing homes. I'm starting to see so many benefits to adoption.
