Think unless you have day 21 test you will not know Mel not sure if it is possible to have the test while you are on cyclogest though.

swlondonnanny · 30/06/2014 19:15

Mean progesteron levels

Mel3062 · 30/06/2014 20:33

I have had those previously which is how they know my amh is not great.

swlondonnanny · 04/07/2014 06:57

Morning
How is everyone?
Nothing new with me, was supposed to get the test results yesterday but didn't get them. A bit disappointed. Hopefully will get them today...

swlondonnanny · 04/07/2014 13:39

Got our DQa match results and we have no match so am happy with that - another thing of the list.
Am a bit upset that mine is 0501 0501 though . But no match is a great result Smile

brownstag · 05/07/2014 16:28

That's great, Nanny. But what does your 0501 0501 result mean?

swlondonnanny · 05/07/2014 23:56

Brown according to Dr Beer 'the most common number in women with infertility and reccurent miscarriage is DQa 0501'. Also something about embryo with 0501 0501 causing the strongest immune response in mother and more than 80% of mothers whose first child is like this test positive for antiphospholipid antibodies and other stuff - this explains my mums issues when she was was pregnant with my younger sister and all miscarriages afterwards.
Also something about 0501 0501 is connected with slightly higher risk of autoimmune problems - my thyroid is really quite bad.
So from this point of view not the best combination to have...
Very curious to see what the chicago tests will show - when I finally get the results.
Brown How are you ? Has the period arrived yet? Looks like I am back to normal, ovulating on day 16 Smile. Also had masses of EWCM. Looks like the higher dose of thyroxine I am taking is really good for me

brownstag · 06/07/2014 07:16

Very interesting. I really must dig out my Dr Beer book. For the last year or so it's been wedged beside my wardrobe, along with a load of other hefty tomes, in order to prevent our hamster getting behind it and chewing the wallpaper when we let him run round the bedroom.
How much did the DQa test cost?
Good news on your new cycle.
The other day on our local news there was a story about a couple who had suffered RM for 10 years and finally they had both been tested for 'something' that had identified they both had a genetic problem that would result in recurrent miscarriage. It was a confusing story as they didn't say what it was, nor whether this was a new breakthrough (though it implied it was). Maybe it was DQa?
I am, according to FF, 9dpo but with quite low temperatures just bumping along over my usual coverline. Melatonin does cause lower temperatures though; I'm still taking it.
This morning I came up with a theory for my endless positive or nearly positive OPKs. This morning's OPK was very negative for the first time since I've been testing this month. And what was different about today? Yesterday I didn't take any supplements, including vitamin E, which I've been taking all month for the first time. I looked up vitamin E and luteinising hormone on MedScape and it looks as if vitamin E can raise it. Or maybe the negative result signals coming to the end of this WTF cycle. I will see how it goes now that I've stopped it.

brownstag · 06/07/2014 07:18

The couple on the news now have twins btw, after injections which I inferred were clexane. :)

brownstag · 06/07/2014 07:23

Possibly I just don't need extra vitamin E, as vegetarians must eat a lot of it naturally as it's found in nuts, seeds, vegetable oils, etc.

swlondonnanny · 06/07/2014 11:17

Brown we paid €340 for it in Athens, don't know how much they charge in UK.
Interesting about the couple on your local news - pity they didn't really say what their problem was. If it was DQa match bloodthiners wouldn't help much - maybe they had LIT 'injenctions'.
Interesting about vitamin E in connection with LH, will have to read about it. Mine is always borderline or too low at day 2-3 test but peaks just before ovulation and I get positive OPK. Only on the most sensitive tests though - 20miu/ml on internet cheapies not on CB which is 40miu/ml.
How is everyone else?
Mel did AF arrived?
Pebbles do you know when you are going to Athens?

Pebbles73 · 07/07/2014 13:24

When should you get the rest of your results nanny?

I am off to Athens on Saturday and started drugs and injections today. Af arrived a bit early and I wasn't organised so been a very stressful few days but oh was amazing and sorted so much out for me. I have my stimming drugs to start but the pharmacist didn't get me the pen to inject it with so oh had been trying to sort out for me as need to do it tonight! He spoke to Serum and seems you can use an insulin syringe so just trying to get one.....

brownstag · 07/07/2014 14:14

They said injections in the stomach so presumably that couldn't be LIT.
Personally I wouldn't worry too much about slightly low LH on day 3; the important thing is to be ovulating, which you are. Plus, that was just a single test?
Wish I was ovulating. The most basic requirement for getting pregnant ... I have a blood test on Thursday and a scan some time ...
Very quiet on here. Hallo everybody?

swlondonnanny · 07/07/2014 14:31

Should have had them last week. Emailed serum to find out why is it taking longer.
Pebbles must be so stressful for you. Fingers crossed you'll get your syringe in time. Where are you going to stay in Athens? Close to clinic or by the sea. The hotel we stayed in was by the see but only took us 40mins to get to clinic ( saying only as live in London and if I get anywhere within 1 hour I am happy). I can't remember what immune protocol (if any) you are on?
Brown I know, as long as I ovulate I should ignore low LH at day 2 -3 tests. It is around 2 at all tests I had so far. I think I read somewhere that LH 'helps' estrogen to mature the eggs so that's why I worry a bit. Guess if it wasn't LH I would worry about something else... As we all do I suppose.
Hmmm, yes if she was taking them in the stomach that wouldn't be LIT.
Fingers crossed for thursday test /scan

brownstag · 07/07/2014 14:37

Sorry Pebbles, I hadn't refreshed and didn't realise you'd already replied. Good luck for Saturday. Medications abroad! What a nightmare they are.
Nanny, I'm not sure about helping oestrogen but you may be right. I just remember the mnemonic I made myself during A level Biology, 'FOLP', to remember the order of the hormones (FSH, oestrogen, luteinising hormone, progesterone) so assumed that lh was always in response to oestrogen levels rather than the other way round.
Indeed, what we do with ourselves if we had nothing to worry about?

brownstag · 07/07/2014 14:43

Actually I think I know what you mean, Nanny - isn't it relation to trigger shots?

swlondonnanny · 07/07/2014 15:44

Will have to check, can't really remember, sorry.

swlondonnanny · 08/07/2014 08:07

Hmm, just got the rest of the tests from Athens. They are all normal Shock
My brain somehow can't accept it.
Will check what exactly they did and compare with Dr Gorgy's tests...

brownstag · 08/07/2014 09:51

Wow, Nanny. What exactly were they testing for - or are they too numerous to list? Have you spoken to Penny about them yet?

swlondonnanny · 08/07/2014 13:03

Brown I just had a proper look at the results. Consulted dr. Beer's book and even though my NK cells are normal range the killing activity is 30% and should be below 15%. Also the TNF alpha is 30 and that's the highest end ( needs to be under 30) + some other cell which I don't understand are high - CD19 ( B cells) are 15.9% (normal range 3 - 8%)
I don't think Penny deals with this so will contact either the immunologist we saw in Athens or book consultation with Dr. Gorgy.
It makes more sense to me now - noone miscarries 10 times if everything is normal...

Pebbles73 · 08/07/2014 13:47

Glad you have your results Nanny, hope you get a consultation booked soon so they can give you a plan. How are you feeling about it all?

brownstag · 09/07/2014 08:01

Well, that's getting somewhere, Nanny. At least once you know where the problem lies you can tackle it.
Typically once I'd finally managed to arrange my blood test and scan, I got home and my period started. At last the 43 day cycle is at at end. My blood test will now be day 3 so I'm going to sneakily take advantage of it anyway ... Never turn down the opportunity for some free testing, I say.

swlondonnanny · 11/07/2014 16:32

Brown good news about your period ( know BFP would be better but al least you can start new cycle). Which DPO accorfing the FF was it? Good luck with blood test - which tests are you having?
Pebbles I am actually very happy with the result, relieved that there is something which might be easily treatable.
Are you on any immune protocol with your IVF? Hope you are ok with the druggs and fingers crossed for you coming back pregnant from Athens Smile
At the end after a bit of thinking I booked an appointment with Dr Gorgy, will see him on Tue so no long to wait.

BellyD · 11/07/2014 17:33

Hello everyone

Good luck for your trip to Athens, Pebbles. I hope after the stressful early arrival of AF that things have calmed down and, as Nanny said, you are ok with the drugs. Got everything crossed for you.

Nanny your results sound similar to mine (without checking them) I am sure Dr Gorgy will have a plan of action for you. We have been to see him too in the past.

Brown sorry AF has turned up, but a Day 3 blood test is always interesting.

AFM we were due to go to Spain for a FET on 5th August, but after asking Spain and ZW if I needed a hysto, and them all saying no, I persisted and DR N sent me for a saline sonography with Bill Smith this week. We found out that I have a septate uterus. On one hand we are totally gutted that it has taken 5 years and 7mc to find out, especially as my own eggs are now so old. I had the same procedure at NewLife over 2 years ago and they didn't pick it up. Grrrrrrrrrr. On the positive side, at least now we know and before we have our FET, which we have obviously postponed until after I have it sorted out. Apparently it is quite common in ladies who suffer recurrent mc. DH and I can't understand why it isn't one of the first things they check when you start having investigtions. One of the most frustrating things is that without pushing for these procedures and people like us sharing info on threads like this you at never find these things out. Has anyone had a successful hysto in the UK? I know appears as if Serum is the place to go, but we would rather have it done here if possible. We are going to have the op and then go on holiday (which we weren't going to do because of going to Spain). Are there any restrictions re: swimming etc after a hysto?

Hope Duggs and Ari are blossoming beautifully. Mel, Sue and Village how are you doing?

brownstag · 11/07/2014 17:37

Good idea, Nanny. Cover all options.
It was 12dpo according to FF, which is about a day shorter than usual. My AF only lasted 3 days though! I had the blood test yesterday, and I'm absolutely dreading the results, as that morning I had, yet again, a very strongly positive ovulation stick.
I'm starting to think the only thing preventing me going into menopause like my sister was the DHEA I took for so long and that now that I've stopped it it's all going belly up! The improved AMH result I got 2 months ago (3.8) was just after stopping the DHEA.
I've had some of the ordinary results back already, thyroid, blood count and CA25 tumour marker all normal, but not the FSH.
... Been looking at the Bemyparent website this afternoon ...
