Hi all, sorry for the silence but have been enjoying being a ttc free zone! Af due any day but no sign yet do can't book hysto, looking at flights is going to be a v expensive trip!!

Belly so sorry you are feeling down about it all and yes sometimes it is v hard to put on a brave face when you just want to scream! I used to feel the same but recently I seem to have got past that (only taken about 7 yrs!!) and am fine with pregnant people!!
I wish you lots and lots of luck and hope this is your time, please keep us posted with your progress.

Nice to hear from you Ari how is it all going??? Will have to watch that programme tonight as well. Hope it's not going to make it hard to get an appointment there, lol!

How are you getting on Duggs? I miss hearing from the old timers. Smile

Mel still hoping you get a bfp this month, did you test today?

Waves to everyone else.

Mel3062 · 05/06/2014 06:06

Wow I'll have to watch that programme, yes hope penny still has room for me!
First response bfn for me so may stop meds day 28 today, af should def of come tomorrow, what do you think?? Stop meds or see if af comes on it's own with reduced steroids this month?? I had high hopes with my temps etc :(
I can feel migraine coming on so they do seen hormonal, at least I have magic pills now!
Got moderated yest so glad that's over!!
Waves to all, scans are lovely news.

Pebbles73 · 05/06/2014 12:41

So sorry for the bfn mel I am not much use with the drugs advice as only had them with ivf.

Watched the quads thing last night and made me think just having one embryo put back isn't such a bad thing!!! Was fab to see the clinic and Penny on there, made me feel very emotional!!!

swlondonnanny · 05/06/2014 13:09

Mel sorry for BFN, really thought you were pregnant based on your chart. What did dr G recommend? Keep trying naturally ? Or SO? IVF?
Pebbles yes athens tickets are quite expensive, especially when you need to book them last minute. Are you going to go by yourself?
Belly sorry to hear you are feeling so down but if you have a feeling hysteroscopy might help could you book it somewhere else even if your clinic doesn't recommend it? Have you ever had any done?

I finally got appointment to RMC at St Mary's for tue 10th June - my DH got quite cross with them on the phone when he finally got through ( me calling them last week and leaving voice messages...) and they told him they don't have my details/refferal letter on their system and voila - they'll see me next week. Took 3 years, 3 refferal letters and another 8 miscarriages but finally I have an appointment Smile. I know they don't do immunes but I have strong family history of blood clotting problems + some borderline results myself so am very happy that someone who specialize in blood clotting will seem me.
I know it is sad to get excited about hospital appointment those are the little things which keep me going...

Mel3062 · 05/06/2014 17:20

As nanny glad you got your appt. it's a step forward not silly at all.
I know I'm disappointed and my magic pills have nt worked on my migraine either :( I've got another couple of months ttc natural then back to dr g. Don't think he does so so itl prob be ivf :/

duggs1976 · 06/06/2014 15:55

Ok nanny hope they sort out the clotting issues as is not that difficult for them too and they are experts in that field. The new TEG test too testing how quickly your blood clots.
Just had 20wk scan at 20wk+1 day. All ok. Big baby which isn't really a surprise.....Smilehope you ladies are doing ok? Any news from belly? What is next step? Is FET I believe?

swlondonnanny · 06/06/2014 16:01

Yey Duggs lovely news Smile

suemays · 09/06/2014 07:33

Halfway now duggs, glad the scan went well.

belly its so hard to try and keep upbeat when others find it so easy but at least you are trying everything you can. You are bound to feel the way you do after the roller coaster of emotions after a failed ivf round. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's worse if you get a bfp rather than it not work as your hopes get up as soon as you see those 2 lines on a stick. I know for me life seems easier when I am not miscarrying but then I worry when I am not conceiving too!

mel did af come in the end?

suemays · 09/06/2014 07:39

nanny I had an awful experience at st Mary's and wished I had never bothered waiting for the appt. The consultant I saw was so rude and then lost my notes so I had to start the process again with them eventually just prescribing aspirin! Waste of time! Its chaotic in there too so make sure you keep asking them how long it will be as our appt was 3 hours late (I think they forgot I was there) plus there wasn't enough chairs for everyone to sit down as the waiting area is a long corridor. This was in 2011 so hopefully its improved!

swlondonnanny · 09/06/2014 08:34

Oh Sue sorry to hear that and thank you for sharing it with me. I don't expect much of any NHS clinic and after reading through their booklet I expect even less. But as my last test showed borderline protein C and S deficiency I just want to know what's going on and they should be quite good on blood clotting. So did they find something for which they gave you aspirin?
Also that form I had to fill out gave me a good oportunity to find out what is going on in my DH family as far as intertility and miscarriages go ( not that he doesn't talk about it but as a men he doesn't know - know it sounds silly but in their family men don't discuss stuff like that)

suemays · 09/06/2014 19:31

Yes I had a raised teg result. I didn't test positive for APS. I might be wrong but I think they only offer clexane, progesterone and aspirin at st Mary's even if they find something wrong so I'm not sure if you have tried that?

swlondonnanny · 10/06/2014 13:06

Sue you were right, am very greatful that I didn't expect much from this appointment...

Pebbles73 · 10/06/2014 14:06

I take it the appointment didn't go to well *nanny'? What did they say?? Just as well you were prepared!!

swlondonnanny · 10/06/2014 15:03

Well first they did scan - the lady who did it was firts looking and poking and than very seriously asked me what I know about the shape of my uterus and my ovaries. Than she called her collegue to check as well and they thought they saw second uterus cavity!!!! but after all decided that all's fine!!!
Than the doctor we saw skipped 3 or so pages of the form I had to fill in and sent me for blood test. The lady who was taking the blood was pissed off that I didn't bring all the forms - I wasn't given any!!!
Well, they booked me for repeat test in 6 weeks and results in 10 weeks.
Thank God we are going to see Penny in 2 weeks time...
How about you Pebbles? Did you book your trip to athens?

BellyD · 10/06/2014 16:13

Duggs brilliant, brilliant news about your scan. Very happy for you.

Nanny sorry to hear that your appointment didn't go as you had hoped at St Mary's. We went to see them many moons ago. I was told I was 'a little bit odd' and diagnosed with antiphospolipid syndrome despite only testing positive for it on the first test and then never again despite repeated tests with diff consultants. Hope you have significantly more success with Penny.

AFM we are just deciding when to try for another transfer. Am only now starting to feel myself again after the last attempt, but think we may try at the end of July.

Thanks for all your kind words ladies. Mel sorry for the bfn, hope you are doing ok. Sue, Pebbles, Village and Brown if you are lurking hope you are all in a positive place x

Pebbles73 · 10/06/2014 19:16

Gosh they sound rubbish nanny, you will have a much better time with Penny!! Are you going over fir consultation and Aquascan?

My af arrived more or less on time so have booked to go out for second hysto next Wednesday. Trying not to think about all the money this is costing, dh keeps telling me not to worry but you know how it is..... Need to be there day before for pre op checks and then we are staying on the Wednesday after the op as dh worried I will be in pain and not feel like travelling. Also means I can go and sleep off the anaesthetic.

Waves to everyone.

Pebbles73 · 10/06/2014 19:19

Whoops posted too soon!

belly so glad to hear you are feeling more like yourself, this business certainly takes it out of you. End of July not far away, we are all rooting for you.

swlondonnanny · 11/06/2014 06:22

Sue tried the progesteron + aspirin combo but that didn't work. Next time we try I will use that as well, jut need to discuss with Penny when to start with it - Ovulation or BFP. Don't think St mary's do progesteron even.
Belly end of july transfer gives you another month and half to get ready for it - when you get that bfp the endles worriyng and emotional up and downs start again.
We are waiting till end of july to try again as well...
Pebbles yes, consultation and aquascan booked for 24th + as many immune tests they can do + DH sperm test + DNA fragmentation. Won't do hysteroscopy this time as we simply can't afford it (if no luck with getting/staying pregnant till Christmas I'll have it done that). How did you find your aquascan? And did you DH had some tests done? If yes was it discussed with penny and they did it straight after your appointment or you had to book it in advance? Also if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay?
Must be exciting for you to have booked your hysto for next week - another step closer to your baby Smile Are you going to book IVF when you are there as well?
Mel how are you doing? Hope all is fine with you...

LondonSuperTrooper · 11/06/2014 09:32

Hello ladies. I am so sorry to gatecrash into your thread so rudely! I am a lurker and haven't posted as I'm not going for IVF until Jan 2015.

Nanny I just read that you've used progesterone and aspirin combo. I have had 3 miscarriages and was prescribed cyclogest but was told to use it AFTER getting a BFP. Is this correct? Or should I start using it after ovulation?

Many thanks Thanks

Mel3062 · 11/06/2014 15:50

Argh lost the thread again!!! Nanny so sorry to hear of your experience.
Pebbles rooting for you for Wednesday!!
London super trouper welcome, I take cyclogest after ovul but previous consultant said after BFp so they differ!
Had migraine from hell again over weekend so must be hormonal, stopped cyclogest for af to come again, not sure if that's normal!
Went gp about migraines and got dif pills which didn't help much and was basically told to stop my periods when in ready and go on the pill to stop the migraines.. Umm nope!! Felt down the last week it's so difficult. Got 24 reports to write and not feeling up to it.
Waves to all x

Davidtennantmistress · 12/06/2014 08:19

Hi all hope you're well, I bit the bullet and had a scan done after what I assumed to be ov, to see if it was just the surges I was having, it reports collapsing follicle measuring 11x13x9 mm, I think this is far too small, does anyone understand it? I've got gone for 17 th July, but no idea what happens at her first one I'll be cd 2/3 so going to try and get bloods done again ASAP to see if my herbs have helped, cycles and hormones feel calmer but I've have literally three wipes of pink Ewcm on Monday I know this is post ov, so am thinking low progesterone which stands to reason and would give a reason why bloods showed on ov, if I'm thinking right?

What is recommended for that clomid? With a BMW of 33 not sure it will be prescribed.

duggs1976 · 12/06/2014 18:36

They usually say 17mm min and 21 max for ripe follicle to release a good times egg. Smaller then not mature enough, larger then too ripe and potentially too hard a shell. As for cause of this if you think low progesterone surely they would prescribe progesterone? It suggests hormone imbalance so if not clomid ( quickest most obvious route ) then natural route I'm not best person on that but some of the ladies on here are experts. Co enzyme Q10, soy isoflavones etc am sure someone will answer on that!

LondonSuperTrooper · 13/06/2014 22:58

Thanks Mel I think I will save my medicine and use as prescribed. That is, if I ever get a BFP!

swlondonnanny · 14/06/2014 10:59

Dtmistress sorry I don't know about that. Did you get your blood clotting results back yet? Hope all was OK.
Londonsupertrooper as Mell said it depends on who you are talking to
Mell so sorry about your migraine - yes 'The pill' seems to be very favourite solution for GPs for everything. Had the same conversation with my GP over a year ago when one of mi tests came back borderline and amongst other things it could mean I had PCOS (which I don't have) so she chearfully suggested pill... Well, that would have sorted my problem with miscarrying pretty fast...
I never had cyclogest stopping my period... How much do you use?
And how are you this cycle? Are you still using all the OPK.
I am having a very strange cycle myself - on day 35 now as I only ovulated on day 26!!! Normally 30 day cycle... Hope my period will start soon as have the aqua scan with Penny on 24th and don't think I can have it while bleeding, can I?

Davidtennantmistress · 14/06/2014 17:03

Thanks all, the clotting bloods came back clear with no issues, so I guess it's a wait until gyne on the 17 the but at least if it's hormonal then it's treatable, physically I seem to work. So hopefully that's better.

What stages are all of you ladies at?
