To keep getting highs once you have hit a peak so you don't need to keep testing. Its a way to make you buy more sticks!

Mel3062 · 31/05/2014 10:46

I know but it's not given me a peak!

Davidtennantmistress · 31/05/2014 11:09

Can you get just the sticks for the cb ones?

As they say mel it's not over till the fat lady sings, so if no fa there's always hope. :)

Mel3062 · 31/05/2014 11:43

I got the sticks from amazon or home health.
Thanks I know but it's hard as af hasn't been arriving until I'd stopped cyclogest for some reason!

suemays · 31/05/2014 23:26

mel I used to hardly get peaks so you might be like me and have a short surge. Have you thought about having a day 21 blood test to see if you ovulated?
Steroids stopped me from ovulating for a while - are you on them?

Mel3062 · 01/06/2014 05:46

Thanks sue, day 24 still high! I'm on 20mg steroids, I think I am ovulating as my temp seems to think so and I get pain. I also got 3 peaks on different tests so hoping it's just getting used to me this month!

suemays · 01/06/2014 16:29

I would stop testing with cb as it is probably getting used to you.

Davidtennantmistress · 01/06/2014 17:01

Sue, when you had lots of highs no peaks and short series did your 21 day leaks show you had ovulated?

I've got another smiley today cd 10 and hubs offering his services. Wink lol. My temp has dipped down, does it dip further before you ovulate?

Doctors referral has also been done so fingers crossed, mean while I'll carry on with wheat grass royal jelly, Angus cactus and iron to hopefully kick start something.

suemays · 01/06/2014 21:01

Yes 21 day test showed I ovulated and I did get pregnant but miscarried. I had another 21 day test a couple of months later after being on the steroids and that showed ovulation had stopped. I got highs again and no peaks. Steroids always affect my ovulation hence why I only take from bfp!

BellyD · 01/06/2014 21:56

Mel am no authority on ovulation sticks as when we used them we never got an positive ever, but I did get preg twice using duofertilty. I think you can hire it if you don't want to buy one. For the first month you find out you ovulated retrospectively so you need to dtd regularly to cover all bases, but after that you start to see the pattern. Def worth a try imo and if you don't get pg in a year (providing you wear the monitor every day) you get your money back.

Welcome DTMistress.

Good luck for your scan on Friday, Duggs.

Pebbles hope you are ok. Have you got your hysteroscopy booked in yet?

We have decided to start prepping for our FET as it takes 45 days, which will mean towards the end of July. Have asked again about a hysteroscopy and when I next have a scan I will ask them to specifically look at my blood flow to the uterus. Finding things tough today. 9 women at the school where I work have got pregnant since we started trying and some of them have had their 2nd kids. Today at our tennis club a lady was playing 4 months pregnant and it just hurt so much watching when I can't even walk down the street without miscarrying. I am sick of always having to put on a brave face (apart from with DH of course, which isn't really fair on him). I have been blessed with an amazing life so far and am always mindful of others who have much more to deal with, but this is just so painful and I feel like such a failure. Sorry for being on a downer.

Waves to Sue, Nanny and Village and anyone else I have missed.

Mel3062 · 02/06/2014 04:39

Belly hugs I know exactly how you feel, it's very difficult isn't it, I'm the same surrounded by pregnant mums and also as you say colleagues on their 2nd :( yes you're happy for them and put on a brave face then you have the down "why me" days too. It's such a struggle especially when it appears so easy for some. I thought someone had used a duo, thanks though don't think they are offering money back anymore. They do have one called lite which is for 6 months I think. Umm I don't know!

Davidtennantmistress · 02/06/2014 07:48

Belly, ((hugs)) you're not a failure at all, not too sure of your story, but we will all get there I'm sure.

I had a melt down at Xmas time, as literally everyone was falling around my ears, it comes and goes for me.

Hubs and I are not on speaking terms currently. How do you ladies cope or your partners cope, apparently I've made him 'feel like a piece of meat' he just doesn't seem to get it as apparently you can 'get pregnant any time you like' today I have a peak smiley, first time with cb but my temp has slightly risen, I assume it will go low again? If persona shows a positive do I use the ovulation kits or the temperatures? As my blood work says no but my monitors seem to be saying yes. So confused.

VillageMum · 02/06/2014 15:25

Belly don't apologise for feeling down. You're bound to feel like this at the start of another prepping for FET, but in a month or so you will be that much closer to possible success. Just hang in there! Everything crossed for you.

DTmistress if persona shows a positive (egg symbol?) then surely that means you're ovulating? I used to use it as contraception, and then to conceive DS, was pretty reliable... Really sorry to hear that you and your DH aren't speaking.

Mel3062 · 03/06/2014 06:50

Hi ladies day 26 today 14dpo according to opks, 16dpo according to ff. got neg on internet cheapie, had hope as temps high and felt tightening and pelvic pain. Last month I stopped meds day 25, not sure if to stop again or see if af comes on it's own now I've reduced pred of course it could still be the cyclogest! Some cycles are day 31 though they do seem shorter these days, what do you think?

Davidtennantmistress · 03/06/2014 07:34

Mel, it may well just be too early to test? With my eldest I had a bfn the tues then bfp Thursday and it was strong, so you never know.

Those of you who bbt, my temp raised test am, although I now understand you should do it in bed at the same time of day, but whilst at work, I could feel ECM etc etc, anyhow decided to temp when in at 4, and had a major dip, from 97.45 in the morning to 96.8 now it's 97.73 again, would that suggest ov occurred yest afternoon? Likewise, can I actually get pg if I have such a short window like that, seems to be about 12 hours ish. :(

swlondonnanny · 03/06/2014 08:36

How annoying Mel. Can you keep taking the cyclogest for another couple of days and test with FRER? As the chart still looks good. Also I don't find those internet test the most reliable... What is Dr. G saying about your cycles getting shorter? Did you have any of your hormones tested recently? FSH/LH etc?
I am considering SO after athens tests. That will take care of the 'did I ovulate/did I not' question

Mel3062 · 03/06/2014 10:23

Thanks ladies I'll hang fire a few more days I think that will only take me to day 28 anyway so wel see. Not had fsh done for a few months I don't think. Dr g just said to reduce pred to 20 Instead of 40 to see if that made a difference, I haven't had the spot outbreak :) it could be either the cyclogest or thyroxine stopping the af really.

Mel3062 · 03/06/2014 10:24

Have you looked at my chart again nanny?good luck for the tests and so

swlondonnanny · 03/06/2014 17:26

Yes Mel I had a look, hope you don't mind. Thyroxin shouldn't stop AF if you are in normal range which if I remember correctly you are.

Mel3062 · 03/06/2014 19:07

Course I don't mind thanks for looking! Umm I think you're right as been in thyroxine a while x

swlondonnanny · 04/06/2014 08:53

DTMistress for temping to be reliable you need to take your temperature first thing when you wake up in the morning ( ideally vaginally) before you do anything else at roughly same time every morning ideally after at least 3 hours sleep.
Sorry to hear about your DH and his not cooperation.
A question for all of you who were taking the antibiotics for athens test - how did you cope with it. We only started yesterday and I can't see how I am going to survive next 24 hours. Taking omaprezole and probiotics already.

Arianrhod · 04/06/2014 09:25

nanny I had to take my antibiotics with food (not dairy), otherwise I felt seriously sick. Are you on doxy?

OP posts:
swlondonnanny · 04/06/2014 09:42

Thank you Ari I had 4 tablets of Azithromicin yesterday, with food. I wasn't sick but had really bad diarrhoea about an hour I took them. DH has doxy, vomitted the evening dose. I start with doxy tomorrow. God help me... This'd better work and bring us the baby soon.
Interestingly when I mentioned the antibiotics to my acupuncturist yesterday he was really happy and said he has a feeling there is something like this (infection) which is last piece of puzzle why I miscarry. Helped me a lot with positive thinking as I would be quite ready to give up very soon with antibiotics.
Hope all's well with you and twins Smile

Arianrhod · 04/06/2014 09:54

Any of you lovely ladies watch the ITV 'quads' program last night? I didn't, but I will certainly be watching it on ITV Player tonight as it featured Serum and the very lovely Penny! I didn't realise the family got their quads via Serum, how lovely (but exhausting!) for them.

Guess Serum's workload is about to sky-rocket then, and they were already busy!!

OP posts:
Arianrhod · 04/06/2014 09:56

Crossed posts nanny. Oh, you reacted to the azith? Hmm, that's the only one I didn't react to. Truthfully all antibiotics are nasty things - just make sure you take your probiotics well after the antibiotics, for obvious reasons! Make sure you do have the doxy with a good meal, if they're likely to cause you problems (but of course no dairy) - and best of luck!!
