It's ok I knew what you ment, blame baby brain I would ;) xx

swlondonnanny · 07/05/2014 16:02

Thank you Duggs , good to know that your DH was on the antibiotics for 40days.
Mel sorry it was BFN
I will join you with that hot chocolate if I can Smile, tested today at 10 DPO and it was negative ( generally test positive early) so that's it this month.
Won't be able to try till august with my DH being away most of May and that starting his antibiotics at the end of June ( can't start earlier).
Will be 39 in August. Feel a bit sorry for myself ( and getting over kidney infection as well)
Sorry for me me me me post

Mel3062 · 07/05/2014 19:34

Aw nanny sorry to hear that, shame we couldn't of met for hot chocolate, it wasn't all I thought it would be! I'm 39 too x

Pebbles73 · 07/05/2014 19:50

Thanks ladies, was just surprised to have it so early as I am on cyclacur and had 11 white tablets for 11 days and then meant to take 10 days if brown pills and then af should be two to five days after! It says if you get af when taking the brown ones to just stop but haven't even got that far. The guy who did my hysto replied saying its nothing to worry and just have early af even though on the oestrogen pills.

Mel so sorry about the bfn Sad

Village I must say it does sound confusing saying your tubes are blocked. Can anybody know for sure without some kind of scan or hysto?! Do you think you will go for ivf at Serum?

nanny you are entitled to feel sorry for yourself, sorry for the bfn and it is hard when another Birthday comes around and you are still ttc.

Pebbles73 · 07/05/2014 19:56

Sorry I meant nanny when I said about blocked tubes and ivf!! I am sure these antibiotics are making me a bit confused!!

Belly hope you are doing ok, thinking of you.

swlondonnanny · 07/05/2014 20:17

Mel let's pretend this is a lovely cup of hot chocolate Brew Smile and let's have some Cake with it as well Grin
Anyone else wants to join in? Smile

Mel3062 · 07/05/2014 20:19

Aw lovely nanny thanks!! ;)

swlondonnanny · 07/05/2014 21:43

Pebbles so the bleed now is your period? Does it mean you are supposed to have the next hysteroscopy straight after you stop bleeding or wait one natural cycle?
The tubes - as I understand it - can be only checked by HSG ( which I had done 2 and half years ago and all was fine) or by lap and dye ( which I didn't have). It is unclear if aqua scan can check tubes - some clinic say yes. When I asked Penny she said they don't check tubes when they do aqua scan.
Going to my godson's fist communion this weekend where my sister's inlaws are going to be as well and 2 of them are gynecologists ( one of them specialises in fertility) so will discuss with them what they think is best for me. Also will find out how much the hysteroscopy and lap and dye would be at their clinics. As things like endometriosis can only be diagnosed / removed through laparoscopy. Kind of want to know if I have problem with that or not as have some symptoms.
That brings me to IVF question.
I honestly don't know how I feel about it. I would like to believe that the hidden infections are my only issue and once treated I will not miscarry - that's what Penny told me ( not to waste money on any more immune tests etc). However I have quite a few autoimmune issues which cause high nkcells ( according to dr Beer's - Is you body babyfriendly? book).
So when/if we try the IVF (looks like we'll have to because of my DH sperm issues) I want to be on appropriate immune protocol to give it the best chance to succeed. Hope that all makes sense?

VillageMum · 08/05/2014 18:00

No problem Pebbles, think my tubes are still ok!

nanny I don't blame you for wanting to cover all the bases. Did your past immune tests come up negative for NK cell issues, then, since Penny seems to think this isn't relevant?

BellyD · 08/05/2014 21:22

Belated Happy Birthday Mel. How was Harry Potter world? I can't wait for my nieces to get in to it, so I can take them. Sorry for the bfn, it is so disheartening isn't it.

Pebbles odd that AF has turned up so soon, but good to know the Dr thinks it's nothing to worry about.

Nanny sorry for your bfn too, but perhaps it is a little early (hoping and crossing fingers). It is great that you have a couple of experts on hand at the weekend. It will be interesting to hear what they say.

Duggs how are you doing? Are you counting the weeks until your 20 week scan or just taking each day at a time?

Ari how are you coping with things? I am sure you are really busy with everything you have going on. Hope you are not too stressed and that your OH is getting on ok.

Well, I started to bleed on Thursday and things all happened over the weekend. Not nearly as bad m/cing at 5 and half weeks compared with a few weeks later, which is when I usually do. I went for a scan at my EPAU this morning and everything has come away, so no need for a ERPC, phew. We rang the Spanish clinic on Monday in the end as we hadn't heard anything. Later that day they replied to our email and answered our questions. They seem keen to go ahead with a FET soon and have put me straight back on the pill, but I really don't feel ready. Still coming off the steroids and bruised from the progesterone and clexane and those are just the physical symptoms. Emotionally I am so not in the right place at the moment and I don't want to waste our embryos by not being totally ready. Can I ask, does anyone else get cramping in their back from IVF meds/steroids/hormones? I can't work out which drug it is that causes the cramping but it is pretty painful.

Hi Village and anyone else I have missed.

Mel3062 · 09/05/2014 05:24

Belly I'm so sorry. Hope you're ok, take time for yourself, I respect you for realising you don't feel ready.
I get a lot of cramp but in my legs must be awful in your back.
Harry potter was good even though I've not seen or read the books!! It tells you all about how they made it so was interesting.
Got headache today so hopefully af is on way, I stopped cyclogest tue I think x

duggs1976 · 09/05/2014 06:35

Belly take the time you need. Did they seem phased by the loss? I mean were they kind of upbeat about the next try? There is a lot to be said about unmedicated cycles in terms of IVF so hopefully the rest will be just what you need. Remember the 3 try's mantra. I had both my IVF and an FET fail and then conceived the following month so it just goes to show that IVF is such luck and any failure of it to produce a viable pregnancy doesn't have any bearings on future conception chances. I'm doing fine thanks. 16 wks and have embraced this as my attitude won't make any difference and with as much of a chance as the next person I should and do expect this baby to be born in October. People die all day, everyday and I figured life wouldn't be much fun if we worried about when it might be so im just enjoying the experience. I would be happy just to experience what motherhood is like once and I know the other ladies on here trying for their first child feel similar. I guess I have the experience to know not to
expect anything more as I don't wish any more of my life to be taken up by TTC. It is something you can't back track from and that is what is scary. Ari's story is such an inspiration and a calming one at that because unless you are v v unlucky and for some reason you are unable to physically carry to term then her story shows you can conceive and carry a baby. I wish doctors were more consistently joined up on the subjects involved and half the battle would be solved. Anyway, sue i am sure the liver test is a temporary thing - is the hydroxy a dr s thing? I don't think you even need it - you didn't have it last time. Nor did I and it made no difference.

suemays · 09/05/2014 13:13

belly glad you finally got a response from Spain. I agree you have to think you have 3 goes at this and so you still have a good chance of success.

duggs I did have the hydroxy last time with scarlet so that's why i am keen to keep using it. Of course if my bloods come back with the same result it could indicate kidney damage and so I would have to stop taking it.

suemays · 09/05/2014 13:14

belly forgot to say that when I miscarry I get a lot of lower back pain so it could be that?

Mel3062 · 09/05/2014 18:11

I used to get back pain too.
Af for me today and my fertility monitor toy has arrived :/

swlondonnanny · 11/05/2014 07:53

Morning everyone Smile
Thank you everyone for crossed fingers for BFP. Tested again on thu when I got what looked like evaps on 3 different test ( all within 10mins) and very feint byt evevryone could see it line yesterday morning . Followed by very strong flue like symptoms of feeling cold and hot and cold and hot etc. Started spotting last night and bleeding properly in the morning. So another chemical for me Sad.
Guess should be happy that at least I got pregnant 2x in last 3 months after only being pregnant once in 17 months before that.
This cycle I didn't take pred as I decided to give prof Q a chance and start in from positive test and clearly that protocol is not working for me.
Won't be able to TTC for another 3 cycles due to my DH being away and on antibiotics etc so by the time we start again I should have all the results from Athens etc.
Village I only had uterine NKCells tested under prof Q but would like to check blood ones + other immunes.

Mel3062 · 11/05/2014 07:59

Aw nanny but yes as you say it's good that you conceived xx

VillageMum · 12/05/2014 19:20

Oh nanny I'm so very sorry. But could the fact that you're getting pregnant now be a good sign for next time? Totally understand your need to get blood NK cell count and other immunes checked out - can't hurt, can it?

belly hope you are looking after yourself and taking things gently.

mel enjoy the fertility monitor!

Waves to sue, ari, pebbles, duggs and anyone else I've missed.

Mel3062 · 13/05/2014 04:45

Nanny surely that proves your tubes are ok? What's happening about that??
This moniter certainly is high tech well like my phone really except I have to buy more sticks!!
I've had awful migraine again for 3 days I think it's hormone related as tends to be near period so I've been given sumatriptan so hopefully that should work!!

swlondonnanny · 14/05/2014 09:40

Mel hope your head is feeling better Smile now. What kind of monitor did you buy? What does it do?
Yes, would expect my tubes to be working if I am getting pregnant ...
Finally saw an endocrinologist to have my thyroid checked, she topped up my medication and gave me advise what to do next time I have positive test. She also checked my adrenal and ovarian hormones and all fine. Feel much more optimistic now
village how are you doing? Are you due to test soon? Fingers crossed for positive result Smile

Mel3062 · 14/05/2014 11:45

Nanny I'd be interested to hear what the endocrinologist said, what dose are you on now?
My migraine eased on mon thanks but then it's end of my af! Not starting the pills until another begins.
I've got the clearblue advanced, just another thing I felt I'd try! It's ok I did my first test today and it was high and only day 6 so did another 4 day early opk and that was neg. it has a calendar on and you can test for pregnancy. To be honest I'm not sure it's any different to fertility friend or the advanced opk but nevermind wel give it a go!
Waves to all

swlondonnanny · 14/05/2014 17:42

Of course Mel I was on 150 a day but based on blood test results and thyroid scan ( looks like my thyroid is 50% bigger than it should be!!!) she told me to take 175 a day. Also as soon as I get (if I get I should say) BFP to start taking 200 a day - even if blood tests are going to show that I am overdosed a bit... When I told her the dose of pred I should be taking she said that it is too high for me ( based on my cortisol levels) and she was happy that we are not trying for next 2 cycles as that will give my thyroid enough time to be get good enough to TTC again.
Do you remember what your levels where when you had it checked?
I didn't understand that bit about you not starting the pills till another begins - are you not taking any medication this cycle?
