Anyone starting IUI soon?

I have a clinic appointment tomorrow, I think to start injections, feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing, looking for others experiences and general chat/support.

This is the first cycle, anyone else in a similar position??

Oops ... Fingers crossed for you happily, you never know this could be the month, would be typical wouldn't it!!

I didn't use any ov sticks or temp stuff as I have never had a positive for ovulation, although last week i have a lot of EWCM which I don't usually have! I think I might poas tomorrow (more for fun than act expectation) then I'll call the clinic and see what they say.

Best of much for your scan worried, keep us updated!!

Hi all

Scan showed 2 dominant follicles, one in each side. One is 19mm but the other only 15mm so hasn't madeuch progress since Sunday! I have to go back tomorrow for another scan. Looks like actual IUI might be Thursday/Friday which is closer to when I would usually ovulate. Have a feeling I'll end up with only one Tillie which I guess might mean they'll up the Clomid dose next time.

That's good though, mine worked first time with only one follie! X

Thanks happily

I'm trying to feel positive but just feel a bit 'flat' for soje reason.

I guess I feel as if I want the drugs to have given me a better chance than I'd usually have!

They have still because they get all the best sperm as well. We only had 5 million sperm count and one follie and it worked. My second time was much better but didn't work.

It's all down too luck so try to stay positive! Your in with a good chance x

How was your scan worried??

Hi

It was ok. One follie now 20mm and the other 15.5mm, so I did the trigger shot this evening and IUI will be tomorrow afternoon. I'm really nervous but feel lucky to have got to this point. Had to get dp to do the shot as I was too squeamish!

How is everyone else?

Hello again

I had the IUI done today. DP's sample was good (after washing it was 11 million with 99% motility).

There was a glitch though in that I have been spotting brown blood/debris for a few days which is normal for me around ovulation. I mentioned this to the Dr and when he went to do the IUI he had to use a different type of catheter because my c-section scar was "in the way" he also said that the brown spotting was coming from my scar and wasn't anything to do with ovulation. He mentioned that some fluid/blood had built up behind the scar and that it was leaking into my womb, some of it was coming out but some would be in my uterine cavity which would not be the best environment for an embryo and that could have been contributing to the infertility because any fertilized egg may not implant.

He carried on with the IUI though and didn't say anything else about the c-section scar but I'm really worried about it now. I'm still spotting brown/pink bloody stuff. If there is an issue with scarring and its preventing implantation then the chances of IUI or even IVF working must be low.

If this cycle doesn't work then I think we'll have to try and talk about this in depth with the Dr.

Anyway, I have the progesterone gel at the ready and my fingers crossed.

How is everyone else?

Congrats worried sounds great about the sperm! and hopefully you have nothing to worry about your c section scar! Try not to worry about it.

How are you feeling? I hope you have your feet up and are relaxing.

How was the iui, was it painful?

I am still waiting for AF, I called the clinic this week, I've to call back on Monday when nothing has happened over the weekend, then hopefully get a blood test, then provera to encourage AF! I just hope I can get a cycle fitted in bride my holiday in March, everything takes so long!,

Hi aa - it was uncomfortable but not painful - a bit like an extended smear.

I confess to lying on the sofa with a glass of wine this evening! I feel a bit crampy but otherwise ok.

aaLaa · 27/01/2014 20:24

How are you both worried and happily??

No sign of AF so I'm going in tomorrow am for a blood test? Not the test time, 8.25 and start work at 9, haven't told work and I can't be late as I work to an appointment system!! Just have to hope I'm taken early!

Hope everyone had an ok Monday

How did you get on today? Can't believe ad hasn't arrived yet! Hasn't it been ages.

My AF is due on Sunday so need to go in for a scan on Monday to check the follies has shrunk and then hopefully we can do our last round! X

aaLaa · 29/01/2014 21:47

Hey ladies!
I had bloods yest, and was told the results were 'low', suggesting that AF wasn't planning on making an appearance anytime soon, so today I had a scan, endorse 3mm but app they seemed happy with that so now I have to start injns (lower dose than last time) on Monday, then bloods next fri (7th) and scan mon (10th)

Feeling positive about all that so should fit an iui cycle before my holiday!!

So looking forward to the weekend, and enjoy a glass of wine, (dry January!!)

How is everyone else?? Hope your 2WW is going quickly worried

That's good! I'm so pleased! I really hope that it all goes smoothly this time! Are they changing your drugs?

Well I'm 13dpo and just did a test, got a bfn :( so fed up! Going to give myself a good talking too and start mentally preparing myself to start treatment again next week! That's providing AF arrives correctly on Sunday!

Hope your ok worried x

Hello there

I'm 8dpiui today. The TWW is drrrraaaaggging.... I feel pretty crappy (dizzy, nauseous, tired) but I think it's the Crinone (progesterone gel) that's doing that rather than anything more exciting!

OH is away for a couple of days so I'm going to spend lots of quality time with DS and try and take my mind off it.

It's so tempting to test but I daren't.

worriedmum100 · 31/01/2014 13:44

p.s. happily I didn't get a BFP with DS until 14dpo so don't give up yet.

Hi there
I'm new to this forum, and just been reading the thread about IUi. We have been TTC for two years with unexplained fertility as all tests have been normal. I am 34 and husband is 36. I am keen to try ivf first for the highest success rate but my husband would prefer to try iui as its more natural. We are having our first cycle in 2 weeks and quite nervous and excited! Would love to hear any more iui success stories!

Happilymarried155 · 01/02/2014 15:55

Hi abster,

Good luck with your first iui! It's always good to give it a go, it's actually not too bad and I've heard lots of success stories. It worked first time for us, sadly ended in miscarriage but it can happen :)

I should hopefully be starting my last round on Monday. :)

Worried-AF arrived today :( never mind. Third time lucky so should be starting next week as long as I don't have any nasty cysts! Hope next week goes really quick for you! X

Hey abster you are welcome to join us!! And hopefully provide our own success stories!!

happily you have a great attitude, stay positive. Are they going to change your meds this cycle or the same as last time?? When will you start medication??

worried over a week down! Have everything crossed for you!!

I start injections tomorrow, 112.5mg!! Such a stupid number, looking at the syringe it's going to be difficult to judge as the increments are every 50!! I'm sure it'll be fine. This time I'm going to jag in the mornings cos I'm a bridesmaid at a wedding next weekend and night time would be a hassle!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies, x

A bridesmaid that will be so much fun :)

I think they might lower the dose slightly this time, although it worked fine the previous iuis so I'm not quite sure.

Thank you so much, I had a bad year last year and although I desperately want a baby I'm determined that this year I will stay positive and stay happy. Enjoying the things that I woke be able to when I do have a baby. I really honestly feel like we will have a baby and I just need to keep going until we do whilst enjoying all the amazing things I have around me!

Have you done the injections before? They really don't hurt at all-you will be fine :) x
