I have a clinic appointment tomorrow, I think to start injections, feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing, looking for others experiences and general chat/support.

This is the first cycle, anyone else in a similar position??

Hi all

Glad to hear the IUIs went well. Everything crossed for you!

I'm doing ok. Its all over with so we're now focusing on trying on our own this month with probably another IUI next month. Saw doc yesterday who sais everything about the last cycle was perfect (apart from the very end obviously) so no need to change anything next time. They will keep an eye in the c section scar and any fluid will be drained before next IUI.

Trying to stay positive. Good luck all .

X

Hi worried,

I'm so pleased to hear from you I was wondering how you were getting on. I hope your feeling ok physically and emotionally and people are looking after you.

Glad that your feeling positive, I know it doesn't make you feel better but I tried to take a positive from the fact that it worked first time-therefore there's no reason it won't work again.x

aaLaa · 21/02/2014 13:17

Happily - so pleased it went well, fingers and toes crossed!! How are you feeling??

Worried - your sounding really positive, well done!! Enjoy your month off the stress of drugs, scans, etc enjoy just being a couple!!

I felt v crampy until last weekend then this week I've been fine, like feel no different. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!!! I have been avoiding impact exercise and trying to avoid booze, but I have to confess a hen do last weekend and a wedding tonight!!!

Hope you have a nice weekend ladies, x

I feel fine, been abit crampy but that's it. When mine worked I didn't feel any different at all so I try not to symptom spot!

It's good you have lots of fun things to take your mind off it. When are you planning to test? X

aaLaa · 22/02/2014 09:52

Happily - I've been told to test on Thursday so going to hold off til then!! What is your testing date??

OP posts:
Happilymarried155 · 22/02/2014 12:17

Not until the Monday, it's so hard to wait though! I remember last time if worked I did a test at 12dpiui and it was a bfn, then I got bfp at 14 dpiui so it really is a good idea to wait but it's so hard!!! I've got lots if cheapie tests so I might start testing at 12dpiui again just on the off chance I might get a bfp :) x

Would love to join this thread too as a potential new IUIer. I'm 32 and my boyfriend is 31 and we've been trying for 2 years now. Same story as many people in this thread, we're one of the "unexplained" (bad luck) couples that it just hasn't happened for with no explicable reason so far. Prog test confirmed I am def ovulating and sperm test came back as super healthy so we should in theory be ripe for baby making. But like everyone, it just ain't happening.

I've had clomid for 6 months and sadly it didn't work so we're now awaiting our first IUI cycle. Its lovely reading the stories here and hearing it isn't that bad. I think the main inconvenience is just getting down to the hospital so much!

I've been quite downhearted at times but in reality I now just feel glad help is on the way. So in some ways it's quite exciting knowing we could be pregnant within the next year.

Happilymarried155 · 24/02/2014 16:06

Hi Edna,
That's how I have always felt, it's quite strange but I'm always abit excited before treatment because it feels like I'm getting closer if it makes sense.

As said previously the iui is no trouble at all it's just getting the time off for appointments as they can be at a couple of days notice. When are you due to start iui? X

aaLaa · 25/02/2014 21:47

Welcome to the thread Edna.

How are to all ladies??

This week is going so slow-I can't wait for it to be over so I can test! The last week always drags!

How are you getting on? Have you managed to refrain from testing? Xx

aaLaa · 26/02/2014 08:46

Yeah I have managed to refrain! I act almost don't want to test!! I'm sure theta sounds really stupid!!
Tomorrow is my testing day but I think I'll wait til after work!!

Happilymarried155 · 26/02/2014 10:15

I know what you mean, part of me wants to test so I know the other doesn't because then I know that it hasn't worked! I've still got a while yet, need to wait until at least the weekend! X

Floweroct · 26/02/2014 17:07

Ooh good luck with the testing!

I had my first iui today, had to have follicle reduction as well so was sedated so feeling a bit woozy still!

Anyone have any suggestions of things to do to make it more successful (I know there's nothing really :))?

Happilymarried155 · 26/02/2014 19:48

Never had follie reduction before, they just cancelled mine!

Not really, I did Accupuncture which is supposed to help. Apart from that I don't think there's much you can do, drink lots of water, eat healthily-the usual!!!

Good luck :)

aaLaa · 26/02/2014 21:21

I ate pinapple for a few days!! Read it somewhere meant to help with implantation
Fingers crossed x

Good luck for today-I've got my fingers crossed for you xxx

MinnieMooMoo · 27/02/2014 14:07

Hi all, hope you don't mind me posting. All things going well I should be starting IUI on my next cycle (period due tomorrow) they've suggested unmedicated for the first go as I'm young and have no fertility issues. (I'm single so am using donor sperm)

aaLaa · 27/02/2014 21:30

BFN Sad

I think I will have to call the clinic and try and get some more nasal spray

I am going skiing for 10 days from Sunday so I guess that will take my mind off everything. Then I guess heads up for another shot soon!!

Hope your all well, x

How are you today?

Hope everyone is ok x

Ellie112 · 28/02/2014 17:47

Hi everyone,
Hope you don't mind me joining. I had my first IUI done on Monday and am now playing the waiting game. So far have found the whole experience so much easier than I thought it would be. First scan I was terrified nurse was going to say something like 'well I've not seen that before'. However she was very reassuring and the whole thing was really painless.
Anyway hope you are all doing well and we get our BFPs in the next few weeks.
Ellie
