brown see if you can change the appt otherwise I guess wait until next month to take the letrozole. Are you doing a full super OV plan or just taking the letrozole? Are you still on dhea? Can't remember if I read that one of the side effects is tremors. Best to get it sorted.

mel how many dpo are you? Is it too early to test???

Arianrhod · 04/03/2014 08:27

Oh mel, so sorry :( . But wait, it was early to test, right? What dpo are you? Try again Thursday, wasn't it?

That's an interesting one about trypsin brown .. I hadn't heard about it, so I went digging. I found this excerpt interesting:

In the study, researchers found that human embryos typically produce a chemical called trypsin, which signals the womb to prepare its lining for implantation.

But in embryos with significant genetic abnormalities, this chemical signal was altered, and it produced a stress response in the womb that could make implantation unlikely, the researchers said. [9 Conditions That Pregnancy May Bring]

The researchers likened this process to an "entrance exam" set by the womb — an embryo needs to pass this test in order to implant.

But sometimes, the womb may make this exam too difficult or too easy, which could lead to the rejection of healthy embryos, or the implantation of embryos with development problems, the researchers said.

This last bit is interesting to those with the 'unfussy womb' thoughts.

I've not had the shakes from any combo of meds I've been on brown but I do get them if my blood sugar gets low - have you had that tested, just a thought? Seeing an endo is a good idea too, there may be other reasons too. How long has it been going on, can you tie it in with anything you started around that time? It could be your system is sensitive to something you're taking, or combination of them?

brownstag · 04/03/2014 09:23

Thanks, Ari and Sue. I've been taking so many different things on and off that it's difficult to tie it in with anything, especially as it's been on the periphery of my attention. It seems hydroxy can cause tremors, but I've read that both DHEA and co-enzyme q10 have been used to treat different kinds of Parkinsonism, so logically it seems unlikely to be them. I also took lithium at one time, which definitely caused the shakes but haven't taken that for years. Quetiapine can cause them, even developing after being on the drug a long time, so that's possible, even though my dose is tiny now.
They get better with alcohol, which can be the case in benign tremor, also with camomile, and definitely worse with caffeine and stress.
I'm simply falling apart!
As to the test versus letrozole, I've realised I've taken agnus castus this month so better give it a miss, I suppose.

Well, just had my lining scan and while the thickness is acceptable (thankfully) at 7.2mm on CD11, it's not triple-lined! (the sonographer said 'not yet') I've been back through my super-ov notes with Mr S and at this stage although the thickness was always about this measurement, it's always been triple-lined. And I'm on a natural cycle (with extra oestrogen support) so I can't even blame it on down-reg drugs!

There's always something, why is nothing ever just the way it's supposed to be :(

Arianrhod · 04/03/2014 12:13

Penny is not happy that it's not triple-lined and has asked me to have another scan on Friday. That's another £90 down the drain, plus I cannot book any flights for next week. I don't know if this cycle is going to go ahead after all :(

brownstag · 04/03/2014 12:57

How dreadfully frustrating, Ari! When does the third layer normally appear?

Arianrhod · 04/03/2014 12:59

lol I just got told off by Penny for worrying too much! She said she doesn't actually care whether it's not triple-lined or not (I misread her intention before) since the lining all looks good otherwise. Her comment was, in capitals, "And YOU WILL GET PREGNANT AND STAY PREGNANT THIS MONTH :-)".

I love that woman, she made me laugh! :)

Arianrhod · 04/03/2014 13:02

brown Well to be honest, I can't really find out (and you can be sure I've been googling and reading study after study about it!). It seems to be in the later stages before ovulation. Although I'm CD11 I actually don't feel like ovulation is imminent - the follie I had was measured at 13.4mm and looking at my SO cycles, the dominant follie by CD11 was usually 16mm plus. I wonder if I'm just going to ovulate slightly later this month, and that might be why my lining's not developed the triple stripe yet? I can feel when my body starts ramping up towards ovulation, and it's not showing that yet.

Well that's what I'm hoping, anyway. I have to go for another scan on Fri to see what's happening, that will be CD14 and roughly when I'd usually be about to ovulate.

brownstag · 04/03/2014 13:09

I know what you mean; I had the same last month with ovulation on day 21. I certainly would have had nothing going on day 11 that cycle. (I'm hoping this means low FSH - haha! rather than imminent menopause.)

Arianrhod · 04/03/2014 16:18

I'm so chuffed!!! My little girl has been awarded a music scholarship to her school, such an achievement given that she's only just turned 7 (and there was only 1 music scholarship awarded)! Doesn't mean much financially, but it's just a huge achievement for her. Sorry, I know it's completely off-topic, but I'm bursting with pride and happiness here and I just wanted to share with my fertility family :) :). Hope you don't mind. Puts my dramas over my bl**dy lining into the background, just for a while!

Sorry, back to normal programming now :)

Mel3062 · 04/03/2014 19:36

Mel3062 · 05/03/2014 07:21

Just wondering if I still finish the course of neupogen when af turns up as I have 2 left?!

OP posts:
Arianrhod · 05/03/2014 09:25

Hmmm Not sure about that mel - I don't see that there would be a point, if AF arrives I would think you'd stop until next month? Probably better to check, but that would be my expectation.

Pebbles73 · 05/03/2014 13:31

Ahhh that's lovely news Ari and you deserve to be proud, how amazing! Smile

Hope the scan Friday goes well, I looking forward to hopefully seeing some more bfp's on here. Apart from Duggs it has been a while!

Mel3062 · 05/03/2014 15:18

Thanks ari I'll wait and see. Just hope cyclogest doesn't delay my af... That would be so frustrating!!!!

OP posts:
Arianrhod · 05/03/2014 15:35

Thanks pebbles .. I confess that despite Penny's assurances I'm worried, I've never not had a triple lining at this stage. And as you can no doubt guess I've been reading up whatever I can ... basically homogenous endo pattern isn't the complete end-all, but the chances of a successful pregnancy with this pattern are drastically reduced. So not good :(

I'm just praying that it sorts itself out by Friday.

Mel3062 · 05/03/2014 15:39

Good luck for fri ari x

Arianrhod · 05/03/2014 15:41

Thanks mel, I need all the luck I can get!!!

BellyD · 05/03/2014 16:04

Ari brilliant news about yor daughter. You must be one proud mummy. Really hope your lining is looking good on Friday and that Penny's prediction comes true!

I have my mock cycle scan on Friday.

Hope you are hanging in there Duggs.

Arianrhod · 05/03/2014 16:10

Good luck to you too on Friday belly - here's hoping we both get good scan news!! :)

duggs Also wondering how you're doing, although I did see your post on the pred thread (yesterday?) and good to hear you're feeling nauseous, that's got to be a good sign!

duggs1976 · 05/03/2014 18:51

Good luck for positive scan lining news Ari and belly D fingers crossed for you too Grin

I'm ok, keeping my head down and although I feel a bit nauseous at times which I haven't had to this extent before I've been at this long enough to know it means very little at this stage. Time is moving slowly. ESP after reading cheerful scan news yesterday with no development Hmm
Pebbles where have you got up to with serum ? Had a call yet?

Arianrhod · 06/03/2014 09:09

Ok so my body's really playing silly buggers on me. I don't know if it's the extra oestrogen I've been taking as support for this cycle, but this is the first cycle in the last 5 that I haven't had my Peak on CD13 indicating imminent ovulation. WTF? I know any messing around with hormones can cause upsets, but I thought extra oestrogen would be a good thing, not delay things. Anyone know the effect of more oestrogen than usual on a normal cycle? I've tried to research it, but there seem to be so many conflicting answers.

On the other hand, it's slightly reassuring that I do know my body signs - I did say 2 days ago it didn't feel as if ovulation was imminent, and it seems I was right. Still like to know WTF is going on, and hope to goodness it just means that the extra time means my trilaminar pattern will have now developed. Come on, You Upstairs, give me a break!!

pebbles was also wondering if you've scheduled a call with Penny yet, or perhaps decided to wait a bit or do something else??

Pebbles73 · 06/03/2014 13:37

The nausea can only be a good thing as your hcg levels must be high! Thinking of you and feel for you as time dies seem to drag on forever.

Sorry Ari I can't answer your question, my ovulation can be a few days different anyway. Hopefully you will ovulate in next couple of days.

Well I have been lazy and haven't filled in the info for Serum online yet. Have been really busy with work and Ed are in process of doing some decorating in the kitchen. I d

Pebbles73 · 06/03/2014 13:40

ahh hit send by accident! Was going to say don't know where the time goes but have been enjoying having whatever I fancy including plenty of vino! Going to try and fill in the info in next few days, my history is do complicated though it takes forever to get all the info together. Also my first ivf was neatly five tests ago now and that questionnaire wants to know things like what drug dose you were given and I can't remember now.....

Pebbles73 · 06/03/2014 14:09

God I am soo tired all of this, how is everyone else doing mentally??!
