Hope this is right ladies ...

I was on 10 but have increased to 15mg lately and am just beginning to get the boils back!
Well, my sister got the results of her second blood test and they confirm the first; FSH still sky-high and her doctor wants her on HRT to age 51. I seriously wonder if the only reason I haven't gone through the menopause myself is because of all the stuff I'm taking. If I stopped it all, I'd probably turn to dust.

Mel3062 · 01/03/2014 12:34

Eek maybe I'm on too much then, never got told a dose.
Sorry to hear about your sister :( I've a little spot coming hope it's the dhea and not an af spot :/

brownstag · 01/03/2014 13:46

Well, the normal fertility dose is 75mg and I took that for a good 6 months before getting a single spot, but once they came, they really did come. It all depends on your normal DHEA levels. I would get a DHEA test (I did a £40 saliva test from verisana) after you've taken it for a couple of months. I also get greasy hair with very itchy spots on my scalp.
I like to think of my face as a barometer of what's going on with my ovaries. Spots = follicles. And it takes many months of DHEA to really get through to the surface of the skin/ovaries.

Duggs whispered congrats. Really hope this is a top grade egg and now is your time. Glad you still went skiing. I think if we have all learnt anything from this wrapping yourself in cotton wool doesn't improve your outcome if it is not meant to be. All that mountain air might have been the perfect tu

BellyD · 01/03/2014 14:11

sent too soon - thing.

Pebbles73 · 01/03/2014 15:04

Wow Duggs and good for you not letting it stop your skiing! Hope this is your lucky number!!!x

Mel3062 · 01/03/2014 18:05

Any symptoms duggs?

Arianrhod · 01/03/2014 18:43

Oh duggs this is just fantastic news! I know it's early days but so very pleased, hope this one is the 'keeper'! :) How are you feeling?

duggs1976 · 01/03/2014 19:19

I'm actually more relaxed that any before (except first unbeknown pg) because last summer I literally left work and did nothing and I mean nothing - didn't lift a finger and still mmc at 9 wk scan so I figured I would just carry on as normal. I am still planning my Athens trip but will be going straight to de if this doesn't work out . And if it doesn't it doesn't. That is just life and I would rather invest in young, proven eggs than waste any more time on my own. Maybe that is making me more relaxed. I have been feeling nauseous but it is off and on. Means nowt though as have a million years ahead.....Shock

duggs1976 · 01/03/2014 19:20

Oh and sue yes been seeing James your recommendation since IVF in dec...

suemays · 02/03/2014 01:07

Have both of you been having acu? I think that has helped more than anything!

Mel3062 · 02/03/2014 03:54

Two week wait, how tedious you are when I know I'm not pregnant. Hurry up AF.
Feeling particularly unhopeful currently after my sister's results but am going to do some letrozole next cycle.

Mel3062 · 03/03/2014 10:35

I feel the same brown, had twinges but now stopped and got lovely spots! Due thurs but don't know if to test for ivig reasons, what do you think?

OP posts:
suemays · 03/03/2014 12:35

mel you may as well test as you would worry if you got a bfp and didn't act fast.

brown I feel the same as you. I normally get a bfp after a few months of trying but nothing for a while now.

brownstag · 03/03/2014 12:41

You're asking the arch tester, Mel. If it's possible to test something, I'll test it. If there was a test to count the number of hairs of my head, I'd have it done. The tests I get are so cheap, there's nothing to stop me. Go on. I seem to remember the last time I urged you to test, and you were reluctant (when this thread started in fact), you were actually pregnant.
Sue, yes, it's so dull. AF is here now. I saw my doctor today and I have a day 3 blood test booked. But that would mean I can't take the letrozole. I suppose I can decide tomorrow which to do.

Arianrhod · 03/03/2014 14:27

lol brown .. you and I are so alike! If there's a test for it, I'll test it - and even repeat the test a while later to see what's changed!

mel testing early will either a) be positive - in which case you can go and get your IVIG nice and early, or b) be negative - but that can mean of course the test was too early, so you can then test again when you feel you should have tested and get the IVIG then if it's then positive. Either way you've not lost anything and could potentially gain. Just my tuppence.

2ww is a royal PITA, I feel for everyone going through that drudgery. Oh for a time machine, or the ability to just go to sleep for a couple of weeks. And then someone else to do the test for you, I'm dreading that.

Had my ILs today, what a thoroughly nice bunch they are at INS, the lady who did mine (I think she may be the one in charge who owns the place) actually gave me a big hug as I left. So nice. Lining scan tomorrow, rather interested to see what a natural cycle with added oestrogen support will have done for my lining. I used to get around 7.5mm at CD11 when doing SO under Mr S, but that was over a year and quarter ago, so I don't know what my natural cycle is like now. Been taking and drinking everything I can discover that might help with lining, just in the lap of the gods now. I didn't do acupunture this time, purely because I really couldn't afford it on top of everything else and although I love acu and find it really relaxing, other than helping to bring on a miscarriage I didn't ever find it did anything for me fertility-wise. Certainly I did acu for my lining all through SO and I never got above 7.5mm come CD11, neither did it help increase my AFs. But having said that, if I'd had the money, I would have done it this time too, just to cover all bases. I just had to draw the line somewhere, unfortunately; £45 a time is not insignificant when I consider all the other costs I have to cover right now. :(

/waves to everyone, sending lots of positive vibes out there :)

Mel3062 · 03/03/2014 14:41

Great there isn't ari?
Hopefully I've got a nurse to do intralipids, so much cheaper!!
Ok ladies I'll test in the morning. Got spots so not hopeful but you're right I used to have to test early anyway so a frer a month I'm used to!!

OP posts:
Mel3062 · 03/03/2014 14:45

At least I'll know and as you say can act or hibernate. Sue you're right :/

OP posts:
suemays · 03/03/2014 18:28

Good luck mel. I have got really bad lower back pain (6dpo) so don't know if its something I have done when exercising or my af around the corner.
brown I did day 3 bloods on day 2 once and took the letrozole that evening so you could do that?

Mel3062 · 03/03/2014 18:44

Thanks sue and to you. I had back pain Saturday night well like stitch on one side . Got awful spots and greasy hair, hoping that's the dhea. I don't feel pregnant at all, terrible bad mood at mo too :/
Think I may use up my super ovulation meds that are in the fridge before they expire :/

OP posts:
Mel3062 · 04/03/2014 04:55

Bfn :(

OP posts:
brownstag · 04/03/2014 07:10

Sorry to hear that, Mel. But your spotting hasn't turned into anything?
That's a good plan, Sue, but they didn't have any appointments until Thursday. Shall I, shan't I?
Good luck, Ari. It seems you have a very good lining generally, although I did get my 'best' pregnancy lately from a fairly rubbish lining, so maybe it's not worth worrying about unless it's really dire? But again, the need to test and compare is so strong!
Did anyone see that story about good embryos giving off trypsin, which signals to the womb to prepare itself to receive it? This stops bad embryos implanting apparently. Although it didn't explain why our wombs clearly receive dodgy embryos.
Final question: does anyone suffer from the shakes? I have a tremor in both hands, but particularly the right, and am being referred to a neurologist. It may be a drug side effect but not sure from what. I take quetiapine which can cause it, but I'm also wondering if CoEnzyme q10 or hydroxy could be the cause. Mine has been going on a long while but I've kind of ignored it, until other people have pointed it out.
