Hut of Gl/Doom, lost count of the number coz its been so long - optimists need not apply!

Couldn't find the hut but in dire need of a hideout away from all those "its been 2 months" and "am I pregnant" threads.

For those of us who've been burnt by ttc, can't get pregnant, can't stay pregnant or are sick of hearing the "just relax" refrain.

Leave your hope at the door and grab a gin, we are back in the speakeasy with meths on tap!

Ok. Cd1. Cycle#25? I've lost count. Thought I'd feel positive but the pain is Fecking awful so I feel rotten. Had to race into Tesco on my way to work to get deep heat patches. Walking like I've lost my horse so people at work were laughing like ha bet it's the exercise Told one housekeeper it's 'time of the month' and after some discussion on managing pain - her granddaughter suffers- she suggested the best way to stop period pains is....to have a baby. I could cry :(
When I get pains this bad I remember how easy it was on the POP...if I'd known there'd be male factors affecting our fertility I could have avoided it! 2 years off the pill with agonising pain. I'll be good for nothing today.
Anyway, enough mememe pink are you on the treatment again now?
delilah how is the Decluttering going?
How's everyone else?

pinkapples · 18/01/2012 20:45

Yup back on injections after 10 days of provera. I started on Monday with the injections the cycle previous to this was a no go so I got this cycle free which was nice saved £1000 (ish) feeling positive... Have been invited to a little party thingy for a friend and half the other people going are pregnant hmmm... It is in April so there is time yet but it isn't looking good... Don't think I could deal with all the baby talk :-)

delilahbelle · 19/01/2012 07:31

Hi Phoenix
I too have pain - OV pain which is typical as DH works away Mon-Fri. Sod all chance this month then (even though we had a good five years of SWI round the crucial time and it didn't work) Does mean I can drink through the next couple of weeks without any nagging guilt.
Decluttering not really happening - my house is just now full of empty boxes as well. Grin
pink Positive thinking - you too could/will be pregnant by April. Got my fingers crossed for you.
carrie raspberry I get the facebook thing too. My newsfeed is very empty and I seem to have not very many real life friends left that aren't PG. Luckily I have family and DH.

carrieonlaughing · 19/01/2012 10:48

I haven't acutally hid any of my fb friends yet!
I am on the count down to period and telling myself that 5 days is too early to check lol. Just want it to happen without any more poking, prodding or medical intervention.
I have taken the line to be honest with anyone nosey enough to ask, there have been plenty of 'aren't we going to hear the pater of feet soon? The answer is we are trying its not working and yes it is upsetting us. That shuts them up lol

raspberrytipple · 19/01/2012 12:03

I tried that approach a few weeks ago Carrie. All I got was 'are you sure you are doing it enough? You probably just need to relax, my friend so an so gave up trying and was pg 4 weeks later'. What bollocks. Lol. I am a moody cow aren't I :)

carrieonlaughing · 19/01/2012 14:33

If I get told to relax one more I may scream lol. Why do people say that 'just relax it will happen'. Er no it won't that's not how you get PG last time I checked.see I'm grumpy too lol :)

Hello everyone! Major lurker for the past 6 months or so and hoping to become a bit more active on here as I (hopefully) get some treatment for my high prolactin levels.

Got a printout of the last hormone profile I had done at the docs in October to take with me to my next appointment with the endocrinologist. My LH was 0.3 Sad and my FSH was 1.4 Sad. Prolactin was 2395 which I knew about so no big shock.

Can't wait to my next appointment with the consultant in march where I will demand some treatment as without it I will never get a BFP.

Sorry if this is a bit long! Hello to all the regulars (and lurkers!)

carrieonlaughing · 19/01/2012 19:19

Hello Flixy.
Have you got a date for the next appointment?

flixy102 · 19/01/2012 19:39

Hi carrie

29th march is etched on my brain-really hope it all goes well as I have been waiting ages for it.

Also, a couple of close friends of ours just announced tonight that they are expecting their second baby. Happy for them obviously but makes me want it even more Sad

carrieonlaughing · 19/01/2012 20:01

I've just had scan photos posted by a friend. I was the only friend that knew until now, god knows why she chose to tell me lol.
Mines valentines day, so going to be a romantic one.
Its awful waiting and waiting x

flixy102 · 19/01/2012 20:07

Just what you want to do on valentines day! Confused

Hope it all goes well for you! At least we have here to vent on! Smile

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 19/01/2012 20:26

Welcome flixy. Do they know why your prolactin is high?
I too get frustrated with others telling me how or when I should have a baby. It's been two years and 25 periods. I knw what's going on.
I find the most effective way of shutting people up is simply to say there's undetailed health problems that means we can't at the moment, no-one has been rude enough so far to enquiry about the 'health prblems' and I don't divulge. They also know not to ask again! :)

flixy102 · 19/01/2012 21:10

Hey Phoenix

They have ruled out a tumour so I suppose that means its unexplained?

I also hate people assuming I'm going to just get pregnant at the drop of a hat. Some people just don't THINK!!!

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 19/01/2012 22:26

I'm just curious cos that's our problem but with DH, he has a prolactinoma. He started treatment just before Christmas and is loads better now. They usually reckon stress causes that kind of high level don't they? That's what they thought DH's was down to til they scanned him.
On a more positivite note, we went for a run tonight. Training for our 10k has officially commenced! I'm so tired but in a good way :)

carrieonlaughing · 19/01/2012 22:38

The training is very cool and so is the news he is doing better.
I think my partner is assuming that as his count is ok that it stops there for him.
I beginning to think I am entering crazy lady period as I becoming addicted to testing even before I am due on. Its got to stop its just silly and setting myself up for a fall.
Maybe there is a special group I can join. My name is Carrie and I am addicted to pregnancy tests lol its 5 days before I am due on and I can feel the urge :p

raspberrytipple · 20/01/2012 07:18

Noooo Carrie step away from the tests although I must admit some months when I've really got my hopes up Ive caved and tested the AF is here the next day. Some months I'm just not bothered though and have promised myself that I will not test ever again before the 40 day mark - my longest cycle is 35 days. This will be the first month I have to wait til 40 days :) wish me luck, I'll need it

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 20/01/2012 08:28

Lissie actually cured me of early testing. I used to blitz through them but I rarely test now. My cycle is regular enough that I know if I'm late and then I'll test. The only crazy thing I'll allow myself to do is test about cd3/4 if af has been light just to be sure
I had a chemical pregnancy about 6 months ago, flipping agonising. I'd rather not know and just wait for af. If she doesn't come, I'll test. Save yourself some cash and avoid potential heart ache Carrie.
Af is easing here time to poas?! so DH is ready for shagging. First time since August we we really be 'trying', since we found out about his high prolactin. Kind of exciting!

flixy102 · 20/01/2012 08:52

phoenix that's really good to hear about your DH feeling better, and so glad you can start properly 'trying' at last. Since I found out about getting treatment for my high prolactin, I've said that all I want is to get a fair crack of the whip, I don't mind if it takes me while to get my BFP, I just want to ovulate, have regular periods and feel that at least I'm normal!

queenrollo · 20/01/2012 13:41

well I checked with my GP and he hasn't received a letter from the hospital (i was told it would be posted early this week) so I've emailed the Cons secretary again. She's going to be mighty sick of me.
I pointed out I would like a proper clinical explanation for me having being removed from the surgery waiting list. I also pointed out that I am frustrated at continually having to push for answers.

I really don't want to come across as a moaning minnie, but I'm just so tired of this. I will sit back like a god girl and just get on with what they say - but only when I know exactly why I have to sit and wait.

I do want to ask for a referral elsewhere but I don't feel I can do it until my GP has this letter. I think to be honest that my GP would say the same.

queenrollo · 20/01/2012 13:42

*good obviously Hmm

it's my Consultant who has the God complex....Grin

pinkapples · 20/01/2012 19:44

Good for you queen it doesn't matter of she's sick of you... U have a right to an explanation! AF has just stopped so we are officially shagging for fun until the trigger shot Grin it's nice for once to be chilled about it the worrying will come when it's shagging for trying hehe then another 2ww well all go this end

Have a nice weekend everyone x

carrieonlaughing · 21/01/2012 17:26

Good luck Raspberrytipple, Phoenix and Pinkapples. I have not bought any tests so I am not tempted lol. Still feel like I am on countdown to AF. Still three days to go before the inevitable disapointment.
Queenrollo you are not moaning so contact them and see if you can get something that explains or at least let's you get that referral.
Hope everyone has a good weekend with plenty of 'fun' :)

raspberrytipple · 21/01/2012 17:37

I'm symptom spoting like crazy, so stupid. It's way to early anyway, at the earliest I ov'd last sunday but just for fun my 'make believe' symptoms have been:
Things smelling funny
Unable to drink red wine last night
Heartburn
Tired
Faint ache in my boobs
Upset tummy
fair bit of discharge going between clear but not stretchy and creamy white which isn't normal for me
Snappy/emotional
Of course being realistic this is due to antibiotics that I am on for a chest infection so why am I symptom spotting this month? Gave up on that a long time ago

carrieonlaughing · 21/01/2012 20:34

I'm the same its very sad lol. I have really achey boobs and heartburn and feel sicky but that's because I am due on lmao. I did have a sudden large bleed last weekend and the doctor hasn't a clue what that was about so only just stopped cramping from that. Will have to see what happens Tuesday lol

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 22/01/2012 12:12

Well I stupidly poas even though I'm cd5 just because it was a lighter af. Bfn of course but at least now I can focus on this cycle.
queen you have to stand up for yourself and what you deserve. Who cares if you bother the secretary? If you're not rude to her, you'll not be the worst she's ever dealt with.
pink what day is shot day? Good luck for this cycle.
