I know I shouldn't be flippant about this and I know it shouldn't be important blah blah but have you seen the barnet on that police woman who talked at the press conference about the hunt for Raoul Moat?

I swear my jaw dropped. I've never seen anything like it.

Cheif constable Sue Simm she's called.

Agreed - hideous hair

muggglewump · 08/07/2010 15:06

There's a thread on this in S&B, but yes, I agree, it's truly shocking.
Almost like three separate hairpieces stuck on.

Spidermama · 08/07/2010 15:06

I feel guilty for even thinking it but it really is remarkable.

PMSL that there's another thread about it. What's S&B?

Style and Beauty, of which it would appear, Sue Sim has neither.

PuzzleRocks · 08/07/2010 15:15

I think you'll find that is in fact where Mr Moat is hiding.

PaulineCampbellJones · 08/07/2010 15:17

Her special eyeshadow for the press conference is a work of art too. Think her muse is Mrs Slocombe.

bran · 08/07/2010 15:18

Is there a link? I'm curious to see just how bad it is.

muggglewump · 08/07/2010 15:19

Yes!
PuzzleRocks has it.

I'm going to phone and report it now and claim the £10000 reward for myself

BigGreenBin · 08/07/2010 15:22

pmsl that moat is hiding in there!

Even my mum phoned me to take a look at it the other day!

muggglewump · 08/07/2010 15:25

My 8yr old commented.
Now I should probably be castigating myself as a terrible mother that DD laughed at someone's hair but I was too busy boggling over what was going through her mind when she agreed to that 'do.

Perhaps she had a hairdresser that got carried away, hates it and did what we all do by nodding and admiring and leaving a big tip, then going home and crying?

muggglewump · 08/07/2010 15:27

for Bran

bran · 08/07/2010 15:27

Found it. Goodness me.

I'm sure she's a very competant police officer though, which is what counts when there's a gunman on the loose. But still, the hair.

BigGreenBin · 08/07/2010 15:29

When they go on the tv like this, do they have some make-up person faffing over them?

They should surely be sacked for the hair, and as for the eye shad.....

suitejudyblue · 08/07/2010 15:30

Poo face alert - I can laugh at most things but this is a bit much, the poor woman didn't ask to be thrust into the spotlight and she's hardly got time to be going for a makeover. She must be under so much stress without being ridiculed, we should be supporting her for doing so well in what must be one of the worst environments for a woman to work in.

suitejudyblue · 08/07/2010 15:32

or maybe that should be po faced ?

bran · 08/07/2010 15:32

You're right sjb, and it's not as though senior male police officers always look dapper but you never see any threads about appalling comb-overs.

But still, the hair. It would look ok (ish) if she tied the long bit back into a bun or something.

bran · 08/07/2010 15:34

Only you can know if you are po-faced or poo-faced sjb. If you are potting training a small child atm (as I am) then you may very well have poo on your face.

suitejudyblue · 08/07/2010 15:34

bran yes, I guess the unfortuante thing here is that the second in command is a bit dishy

noddyholder · 08/07/2010 15:35

I doubt she's thinking about her hair and its no worse than some I see in the street every day.If she was done up to the 9s looking like a page from a fashion mag people would be saying 'If she didn't spend so much time tarting herself up she might catch him!'

bleedingheart · 08/07/2010 15:38

She is thinking about her hair- it's backcombed and styled to the max! It's just very dated and reminiscent of a Nick Parks character. You can think someone is doing a great job and support them and still think their hairstyle is awful!

muggglewump · 08/07/2010 15:39

It almost makes Natasha Kerplinkyplonk's hair look good

OrientCalf · 08/07/2010 15:42

bleedingheart I was thinking wallace and gromit too

Mumcentreplus · 08/07/2010 15:47

The hair is seriously dodgy..
