Why can't people just leave us alone

I didn't realise Daftpunk was homosexual. Gosh. You really are a funny old mix of things, Daftpunk.

daftpunk · 14/01/2010 14:32

What...?

I don't think DP is a troll either, but she does post things hoping too get a rise out of people and cause a stir to get some attention. I'm making a mental note to hide threads as soon as her name appears because as you said - its game over, you know exactly what is coming next.

GrimmatheNome

I can't help thinking that would make a great T-shirt...
"YOU CAN'T BAN ME, I AM THE DIVERSITY!"

I have people in my family who are gay but I don't feel the need for people to embrace the fact that it's normal rather than accept that it's natural.

There's prejudice against every section of society: you can't legislate that away and trying to do so is counterproductive, as we see here. So long as there's no discrimination we have to live with it.

The norm is heterosexuality. Ten per cent are gay I thought. Then I suppose bisexuals.

It sounds like telling people what to think. Why not just say ten per cent of people are gay and it's a natural thing.

daftpunk · 14/01/2010 15:47

Actually, I think NC chose his words carefully. Something "normal" isn't necessarily natural.

I think Its time we stopped living a lie Daftpunk, I love you so much.
I think we should come out about our lesbian relationship.

MIFLAW · 14/01/2010 16:12

When state schools stop sponging money off a secular tax system they can teach what they like.

Faith schools, rather.

Snorbs · 14/01/2010 16:13

"One more general point - the notion that there is something admirable about sticking to your guns however ignorant or unfounded an opinion may be needs challenging. It's not admirable, it's, er, ignorant."

Absolutely. There's nothing noble about being so close-minded you cannot imagine that you might be wrong.

I agree the sticking to your guns followed swiftly by a dose of the 'poor me's' is nauseating

MIFLAW · 14/01/2010 16:18

True enough. I was just rehearsing being the sort of curmudgeon who normally writes to the Mail for the other side, IYSWIM.

You know what I mean, though. The Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches, two exceptionally rich organisations, ponce money off tax payers for what in any other reasonable country would be a private religious education system and then bleat about freedom of belief when they can't teach any old bollocks they feel like. If they don't like having the state in charge of their curricula, they could make a step towards independence by graciously refusing to have the state as a paymaster.
