Good. I've read those. And I can see how, put that way, they're very seductive to many people. Let's have the debate now DP about what they are actually saying?

  1. What is a native Briton, in the BNP definition?
  1. What counts as the boundary of 'our nation'? Speaking literally and geographically I mean.
  1. And what is the link between the two, that so many of the policies derive from?

I am interested to know how these questions are answered and I would be grateful for your views.

roseability · 21/10/2009 22:11

Daftpunk - I live in Scotland and I don't support the SNP (I am English). However I must state that the SNP are NOT racist. They purely stand for Scottish Independence which is not a racsit argument. They are pro immigration and they pump literally millions of pounds into funding asylum seekers, those with leave to remain and those without. Therefore to make this comparison merely proves that you have no understanding of politics and are simply racist

At least have the balls to accept that if you support BNP your are racist.

themachinist · 21/10/2009 22:12

Jeez, reading this you can really start to go off people cant you.

Shocking revelations. Shocking.

bodycolder · 21/10/2009 22:12

The accident of birth argument is imo the bottom line.verything else is just not humanitaian in any way.Am off now from this thread as I can see the v manipulative dp doing her usual worming her way in after spending the bulk of the thread insulting a huge % of the population!

daftpunk · 21/10/2009 22:16

i would say a native Briton is someone who was born here.....wouldn't you..?

literally and geographically "our nation" means Briton....

are you taking the piss with question 3..

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 21/10/2009 22:19

OK, so ANYONE born here, right? Including black people?

No, I'm not taking the piss. I am genuinely interested in what you (and the BNP think the link is between land boundaries and culture. How exactly does it happen that your beliefs, values, identity appear to be linked to WHERE you were born?

smallorange · 21/10/2009 22:20

This is so depressing.

VW;

someone born in Afghanistan will be a bit different from someone born in London..(me)

look..i'm not on trial here, i didn't write the BNP policies....i agree with alot of them and i will probably vote BNP.....

do you really care what some random internet stranger thinks..?

dollius · 21/10/2009 22:28

Hi DP

Let me tackle your policies one by one:

IMMIGRATION:
BNP says: "we, the native British people, will be an ethnic minority in our own country". Who do they mean exactly? We live in a multicultural society - who counts as "native British"?

BNP says: "those immigrants who are legally here will be afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin". How will they determine lands of ethnic origin?

BNP says: "We will abolish the ?positive discrimination? schemes that have made white Britons second-class citizens." What are these, exactly??

BNP says: "We will also clamp down on the flood of ?asylum seekers?, all of whom are either bogus or can find refuge much nearer their home countries." How do they know these people are bogus or can find refuge closer to home??

Can we try to remember that during WW2, a lot of people in this country sent their families overseas to keep them safe.

EUROPE:
There isn't actually any economic policy in this part...

LAW AND ORDER:
BNP says: "We support the re-introduction of corporal punishment for petty criminals and vandals, and the restoration of capital punishment for paedophiles, terrorists and murderers as an option for judges in cases where their guilt is proven beyond dispute, as by DNA evidence or being caught red-handed." Caught red-handed by whom exactly? Do you really want to see the reintroduction of the death penalty which is proven not to act as a deterrent to crime at all?

Crikey, I just haven't got the stamina to go through all the rest - but I will if you want me to.

Just this: "Power should be devolved to the lowest level possible so that local communities can make decisions which affect them." Sounds very much like Bring Back Lynching to me.

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 21/10/2009 22:29

Yeah, I do care actually. I'm an educator, and if I could convert one BNP supporter to see through it all, I would be happy. I'm not asking you to be on trial; I'm just asking you to engage in the debate, which is what you say you want for our democracy.

So, let's carry on...

So why will someone born in Afghanistan be a bit different from someone born in London? What is/are the reason(s) for those differences?

And what is the answer to the question, in BNP policies, to the question about whether black people born in Britain, can be considered native Britons?

roseability · 21/10/2009 22:31

About your opinions I care not

But I do care that anyone reading this might believe the shit you are spouting (see my previous post about SNP)

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 21/10/2009 22:33

'Who is speaking for the white working class now?' on Newsnight, right now...

Lenin, it is in my neck of the woods!

daftpunk · 21/10/2009 22:36

VW;

i am not running out on you, but i have to go...

i promise i will post my reply asap....

dollius · 21/10/2009 22:36

Me too

seeker · 21/10/2009 22:37

I'm not a member of the white working classes, but if I were, I think I'd be a bit pissed off if a racist, sexist, Oxbridge educated bigot claimed to be speaking for me!

BigGitDad · 21/10/2009 22:44

I would like to say that the support for the BNP is not just a working class thing, there are alot of middle class people as well. People who are out and out racists.

Does the policy document suggest that they'd like to go in and grab Eire????? What do they mean??? Are they having a laugh????

Load of bollocks and quite honestly DP you are very very easily seduced.

How would do they do this and what is a British or English person. If repatriation is to country of origin that means that will happily repatriate British people.

  1. That's alot of people and lots of us English/British people have multiple countries of origin. So what happens then? I doubt any of my countries of origin would take me if my main country of origin didn't want me anymore.
  2. Given that so many people would be repatriated, whatever savings made from ending aid to 'Third World' countries would be taken up by repatriation costs and subsequent wars.
  3. We'd all come back as asylum seekers as all that repatriation will unbalance many of the countries we're all repatriated to and there will be more civil wars and we'll all get on planes and come back.
  4. You'd be repatriating a significant amount of our country's educated and skilled people.
  5. Repatriation will mean almost noone left to pay for your retirement mate.

What about Eire - are they suggesting powersharing or invading the place?

And DP - having communists and fascists in the mix does not mean a better 'political system' -Italy springing to mind.

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 21/10/2009 22:50

Tim Lott is absolutely right about the mythic tropes versus the facts. Follett refers to the EC's report on housing allocation, and private letting...
