I don’t know these women but plenty are after money they don’t care how they look. Such women have no shame just like men who rape have no shame.

You are something else.

I find it baffling @Yo808thay you’re more suspicious of multiple women who have separately made allegations spanning years and years, with what the CPS deems enough evidence that an expensive high profile trial is sensible, than you are of the man multiple independent women have accused and the CPS believes there is enough evidence against that prosecution is the right course of action.

You sound like a man who dislikes women, greatly.

Not at all just think it all adds up to a possible stitch up.
None of the so called rapes were reported at the time and he’s been hated by the bbc and media for a while for his comments and persona. These women have come forward when they’ve sniffed a payout it seems.

Yeah he could be a rapist or he could ‘just’ be a sexual deviant/fetishist

Can you on balance see why victims of serious sexual assault may be much more likely to come forward once there have been other public allegations, as they will feel they will be taken more seriously if others have experienced and spoken out about the same things they experienced?

Absolutely.
Can you admit it seems a bit strange that not one of them reported him at the time?

I genuinely don’t think it’s strange no, partly because so many sexual assaults and rapes go unreported and partly because I think it’s even more likely people would choose not to report when their attacker is in a position of power due to being rich and famous which he was when almost all of the attacks occurred.

He himself admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old when he was in his 30s and described the relationship himself as ‘exploitative’.

Even he understands the very same power dynamic that would put women off reporting.

Given that men commit most violent crimes against women and other men, most women have been victims of some kind of sexual intimidation from disgusting comments to rape, plus the interrogations women have to go trough to even have their case considered, I don’t believe many women make false accusations. I do believe that a high number of men sexually assault women as research has shown.

Absoluelt. And statistics even show that men are actually more likely to be victims of rape by another man than they are to be falsely accused of rape by a woman.

I’m a confident person who can hold their own that doesn’t get pushed around and I counted that I’ve been sexually assaulted at least 6 times by men during my lifetime - two of those times at my place of work…

begs belief..

Egghead
yes she was a ‘proper’ victim, what happened was she went on a date with somebody, and they had walked back to her house, he asked if he can come in to wait for a taxi and she said yes. They were sat on her sofa and he kissed her and she pushed him away and said it was too soon , he then grabbed her and pushed her down on the sofa and raped her while she said no and was crying…
Is that what constitutes a proper rape to you?
Russell brand might have raped someone or most likely since none of these seven women came forward (bullshit), he was just in to doing weird sex with them which they went along because he is famous and then they’ve seen this documentary. It’s really not the same at all is it, unless they did say no, but apart from Brand being a weirdo, I don’t think anyone has claimed that yet?
So it’s really very different isn’t it?

You still haven’t told us how a woman can easily get money from a man without going to court and successfully accusing him of something..
But you know everything so, come on, let’s hear it

Are you for real?!?!?!
You think inviting someone in to wait for a taxi is SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from someone chatting to a guy (who they thought was gay) about a project they could do, so invited him up to her room to discuss further?!?!?

A woman can do WHATEVER THE HELL SHE LIKES. If a guy isn't intent on raping her, she won't be raped.

Please, please tell me how I can get millions from someone by crying rape, without going through utter hell to even begin trying to prove it, while being slaughtered in the dock?
I can't think of more than one individual who earned millions from doing something similar - and she k**led herself anyway.

Yes, Russell Brand did end his marriage to Katy Perry via a text message on December 31, 2011, informing her that he was filing for divorce. Following that final message, Perry revealed she has not heard from him directly since. The couple officially divorced in 2012 after 14 months of marriage.

Bloody Wonderful not . 😲

There is a whole thing about Katy Perry too. I have watched videos of her making astonishingly creepy comments to younger men, kissing them and more.

She made headlines for insisting on kissing on a man who had never kissed before on American Idol, there is video of her groping Justin Beiber when he was 18, there's the whole Ruby Rose fiasco, she is currently being investigated by Australian police for a claim of sexual assault.

Based only on what I have personally watched of her being incredibly creepy to underage/young men, she is definitely not right.

On trial I think you mean. Whatever your opinion (and no one knows him personally I bet), we have a key legal principle here. The presumption of innocence.

The trouble with that is it assumes the guilt of the accusers.

You again! Are you really this thick? What women have you heard of who have become rich and benefited in other ways by accusing coming rape? Do you know that there has to be credible evidence for a case to get to court? Most reports don’t get to court and most rapes and sexual assaults don’t get reported. How would it benefit anyone to falsely accuse someone of rape ? It is extremely rare and when it does happen it is extremely unlikely to get to court, but you think all these women that accuse celebrities of rape are lying ? I’m afraid that just means you dislike women and are lacking in the brain cell department.

When pp were discussing radio one and Chris Evans, what you're actually remembering is Chris Moyles counting down to Charlotte Church's 16th birthday and all that disgustingness.

Not excusing Chris Evans, but Billie was 17 and soon turned 18. He was 34.

Of 13 charges, he was found not guilty of 12. Anyone free of bias/agenda (ie any reasonable person) would consider that conclusive. The law certainly does.

The fact that you've highlighted that one out of thirteen (the single not proven), and have chosen to present your opinion on the impact/his death as demonstrable fact, demonstrates how unreasonable you are; indeed it demonstrates your clear bias.

Why waste your time even commenting? Rhetorical btw, I'm not interested in (what would undoubtably be more biased nonsense) reply.

Just as you proved your clear bias. He was found not guilty of "criminality". His defence was that he was a sleazebag and a sex pest but his actions were within the law. That is your bar. Sad.

It's really bizarre to assume a woman would only allow a man into her hotel room in order to have sex. This is effectively the same as saying all men are rapists - women should keep men out of their rooms unless they want the men to get their dicks out!

I'm pretty sure the people who criticise women for inviting men to their rooms are the same ones who'd be outraged at any suggestion that you can't trust a man not to rape you. So which is it? You can't trust men, or you generally can?

mids2019 · 16/10/2026 06:55

Personally at this stage I think maybe unfortunately RB is going to be found not guilty. The evidence presented so far like the majority of rape trials will have no independent witnesses to the events and with the bar being beyond reasonable doubt the defence will be able to show consent cannot be definitely ruled out as a possibility with 2 separate accounts of sexual encounters (hence the small rape conviction rate). RB is odious and behaved in a morally terrible manner with women no doubt but I wonder whether the prosecution can overcome the hurdle that women may have voluntarily been in situations where they were alone with brand and in scenarios where the defence may be able to show seeds that there was an expectation of a sexual encounter and there was no withdrawal of consent.

It's an awful thing to say but how does the prosecution price consent was not given at points during then two rape scenarios?
