Have people seen the horrible news?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15161103/Marcus-Fakana-dies-teenager-jailed-Dubai-sex-17-girl-killed-car-crash.html

The boy jailed for having sex with a 17 yo girl in Dubai has been killed in a car crash whilst being pursued by police (he was a passenger).

To think if he'd probably still be alive today if he hadn't been granted the royal pardon. Sad

Marcus Fakana: Boy jailed in Dubai for sex with teen killed in crash

Marcus Fakana, 19, died in a fatal collision in Tottenham, north London , at around 1am on Friday after a car he was passenger in failed to stop when being blue-lighted by the Metropolitan Police.

Marcus wasn’t driving. He was a passenger.

With the best will in the world we can only guide our children and hope they make the right choices. We don’t know the circumstances and really shouldn’t speculate.

Do you have older teens? I do. Whilst I know some of their friends I don’t know all of them. Like most I am trying my best and see myself as a fairly involved parent but it’s difficult. Kids lie. It happens. The way of the world whatever colour they are.

You are coming across as incredibly self righteous and that your kids would never do anything wrong. Please don’t be that person.

I do, and I keep a tight leach.

Of course I know we can only do our best. I get it. I did silly things as a teen myself!

My point is only that there are valuable lessons to be learnt here.

And we need to just be very aware of the dangers of the company our kids keep….

Suggest you take your amazing parenting advice and skills over to the teenage board. There are plenty of parents over there who have lost control of their children and are desperate for help.

Again, RIP Marcus. Utterly tragic.

Please stop victim blaming. If you are genuinely interested then stop being flippant in your responses.

A young man has died. Have some respect.

It’s probably too late if you only start by the time they’re teenagers if I’m honest.

RIP Marcus

So you don't actually know the circumstances then.

Very sad chain of events for this young man.

The mother seems to have been very spiteful to do what she did. It was a consensual relationship by all accounts…their names are on social media they are Indian.

The car crash was bad company mixing with wrong crowd then in the wrong place…driver didn’t stop which is suspicious, ends in tragedy.

YourWinter · 05/10/2025 19:09

The driver had no licence and no insurance. Not clear who owned the car and whether it was driven with their permission, in which case why did they let him drive it with no insurance and no licence? Teenage boys in particular are prone to making poor choices. The unfortunate passenger may not have known the other lad could not legally drive at all, but he got in the car and the driver failing to stop for the police could only ever compound a series of poor decisions. It’s tragic, and avoidable. RIP
