Because of a piece of cutlery? The mind boggles and it made me feel really sad. People in care homes become confused all the time due to multiple reasons. Seems highly unlikely anyone was in danger enough to warrant this force. He subsequently died 3 weeks later

It’s quite possible this lady knew that she didn’t want “essential treatment” as she had no quality of life. She should not have been forced.

anyway that has nothing to do with the present case. The video just shows a bewildered man in a wheelchair. No violence (except by the police).

Disgusting. What has happened to this country that this is deemed lawful.

The jury deliberated for two hours so a quick decision.

How? What was the rationale, given what is seen in the footage?

Wonder if it a. would have been so quick and b. the verdict would have been the same if it had been a young child on the business end of the taser/pepper spray instead of an elderly man

We don't have the information that the jurers had. How did the judge direct them.

Shocking decision. They pepper sprayed and tasered a frail man who was no threat to them at all. Just over 3 weeks later, he was dead.

They deployed the spray within 90 seconds, that is no time to introduce themselves to him and try explain why there are there,let alone talk him down. There was no immediate danger. I cannot believe they have been found not guilty. Tragic.

Or if they could put themselves in that situation of being him

I'm disappointed, but not shocked. They look after their own.

Over the past few years I've lost the last shred of respect I had for the police.
There are numerous videos of them spraying people who they've already overpowered, who are on the floor already cuffed and are being restrained by officers. Someone swearing or shouting, when they're already restrained, is no reason to pepper spray them 6 inches from their face
