Hoping the link works and just wondering what people’s views are on this? I’ve never been in one but from what I understand it’s a restaurant where the waitresses are all attractive young women?

Can’t say I’d be wild about the idea of DH going to one but honestly I’m a bit meh about it. Hardly a strip club.

I happen to be really happy hooters is opening in Newcastle. Most people who have the negative opinion of it have never even set foot in a hooters which I find ridiculous given the strong negative opinions they have.
I happen to love hooters, as a regular visitor when in America as we have family over there, it’s a family bar/restaurant that shows all sports in play. Yes the servers are mostly female, but why is that an issue, if they’re choosing to work there the only issue I see is the customers having a particular view on it whether that be to objectify these women or simply just go and enjoy a nice America meal, watch the sports you’re interested in. I’m a woman, I like woman servers as I have more in common to have a chat with them during my interaction there. I go with my husband, with my family and we all love it. Don’t judge it, go and see for yourself. Then form your opinion.

I can't tell if you're being willfully naive or what. Objectifying the waitresses is the entire point of Hooters. I just searched for a random one to see the reviews. Quotes include "hot wings, hot girls", "blondes better than the food" and "girls looked a bit shabby to me" alongside various pictures of 50+ men grinning inanely next to very young women in orange hot pants and very tight, low cut t-shirts. What part of this is ok to you?

So funny that it's called Hooters. Sounds like a place for big-nosed people!

@CandidWriter - a wholesome American restaurant, you say?. Tell me, what is "Hooters" American slang for? What are they trying to attract and promote?

Nice. All wholesome family friendly fun!

You raised my hopes here, but when I checked it out you can only buy bottled water and the only food available is frozen mice for the owls. I'd still go though if I ever went to Tokyo - worth it for owl petting!

Runingoncaffeine · 01/03/2025 20:18

I can’t get over someone referring to Hooters as wholesome and family friendly. I actually spat out my tea.
