What would your sentence be for these three?
Sentencing tomorrow.

It’s not unusual for prisoners on segregation to spend 22 hours a day in their cells. Imagine that for 40 years. He tortured a child to death, he’s never going to be able to be around other prisoners.

riverislandjeans · 17/12/2024 13:16

...and this is the problem! They will be protected.

Let the other prisoners at them and they can endure the abuse they inflicted on that little girl.

So you feel that our justice system should be focused around brutality and revenge? That's horrific in and of itself

Good, long life sentences. Looks like the right outcome. British prisons are not soft places to be in (despite the Daily Mail's view). They will be lucky to live to the point they will be released given their ages

Well I don't tend to read the daily mail but i do have family who work in the prison service one in North London and one in Kent

Death penalty if I had the choice

Agreed.

Babycatsarenice · 17/12/2024 13:14

Sent back to Pakistan for the death penalty instead of us having to pay for their prison care which is very expensive

The cost in the UK per year of one person in prison is
£51724/ year ( I assume that includes the money they are given as pocket money by the tax payer !)
For 40 years that’s £2,069,000 ( not including free legal fees )
For 33 years that’s £1,707,000 ( ditto )

They should be made to work full time every day to pay for their keep with no personal spending or privileges.

Cyclebabble · 17/12/2024 13:31

Some of my family are involved in the prison service. Trust me, both of these two will wish they had the option of a swift execution when they realise what life will be like for them inside..

MagnoliaGirlie · 17/12/2024 13:17

I think he only showed emotion because he's shit scared of spending his life in prison, not because of remorse for torturing Sara.

I don’t disagree with you.

there’s also the emotional phone call he made to the police after he left the country

Globetrote · 17/12/2024 13:33

I listened to the judge’s sentencing on BBC News and it was horrifying to hear what they did to Sara summarised. I hope the jury are offered emotional support, as that could surely affect some people deeply.

As for these scum that called themselves parents, I hope they feel terror from inside the four walls of prison for the rest of their days. No punishment can ever be enough.

RIP Sara. Justice is done as much as it can be, beautiful girl.

SecondClassmyass · 17/12/2024 13:33

Life in prison, but in Pakistan. No frills, no luxuries, no bullshit.

catlovingdoctor · 17/12/2024 13:33

Pixilicious1 · 16/12/2024 22:42

Death penalty if I had the choice

Same

Runingoncaffeine · 17/12/2024 13:35

I also feel very sorry for the other children tbh. How horrific and traumatic for them to witness and experience this complete ordeal. I hope they get lots if support!

SnoopySantaPaws · 17/12/2024 13:36

sanityisamyth · 16/12/2024 22:45

100% agree.

No that's too easy for him. I want him to suffer as much as possible. I'm all for putting him inside m, with lots of big blokes who have children & turning a blind eye. Might start allowing them to play cricket...similar for the other two as well.

bombastix · 17/12/2024 13:38

These are fair sentences for depraved people.

Now perhaps we might look at the family court who enabled these sadists. The contrast between the rigor of the criminal court and the family court judge appears to be a chasm.

I think whole life terms are reserved for serial killers, but both the father and stepmother will get life.

No, whole life terms are not reserved for serial killers. There are a number of categories that qualify for a whole life tariff. There are some circumstances in which child killers can be given a whole life tariff, but those did not apply in this case.

hattie43 · 17/12/2024 13:39

I hope they are beaten black and blue in prison. . I've never seen a case that has given me such a rage .
The sentences are acceptable as minimum terms have been specified

JustAnotherPoster00 · 17/12/2024 13:24

Well they should think about that while beating children & killing then then shouldn't they. People who do horrific things are in no place to whine about rough justice.

This too - but they are still in Pakistan aren’t they ?

No, Wayne Couzens got one didn't he?

I'm not sure what the line is where you can get a whole life term.

Mjmum10 · 17/12/2024 13:43

If the death penalty was an option, these people deserve it. If they are never released, that is acceptable, just about. No punishment would be enough for what they did to that beautiful little girl though. Breaks my heart reading what she went through

HectorPlasm · 17/12/2024 13:43

Hang them both. No fanfare, no rigmarole, just quietly - like they do in some far east countries. Then charge their estate for the rope.

Runingoncaffeine · 17/12/2024 13:44

Fireworkwatcher · 17/12/2024 13:41

I actually have no idea, but I hope they are okay. Serious safeguarding concerns for them tbh. I read that some of the abuse did occur in front of them. It’s all terribly sad.

IamAutumn · 17/12/2024 13:44

I would be capable of shooting them.

SnoopySantaPaws · 17/12/2024 13:45

Babycatsarenice · 17/12/2024 13:14

I'd agree with that, especially if Pakistan agrees to do it as painfully as they can, say stoning them.

This… 10000%

lessons must be learnt as to how and why Sara was in his “care” in the first place.

Nothatgingerpirate · 17/12/2024 13:46

Slow rope.
