TW!!! Another child killed

Trigger warning!!

This story makes me feel so sick.

It’s obviously awful to kill a child but to carry on living like nothing has happened just adds an extra level of sadness to the situation.

I don’t understand why the mother didn’t get a life sentence too as she knew exactly what was going on and should have protected her own child.

All they had to do was give her up for adoption and she would have had a chance at a happy life but instead they chose themselves over her.

No words. We are not capable of safeguarding in this country, it seems 😢

BlusteryLake · 13/12/2024 20:34

This is absolutely disgraceful on every level.

HornyHornersPinger · 13/12/2024 20:58

Another pair that should get a bullet instead of pathetic cushy few years in prison.

I'm not sure what you are saying here?

LumpyandBumps · 13/12/2024 21:00

I saw reports of the court case. She went from being an apparently happy and healthy child, to abused and dead at the hands of this monster within a matter of months.
I am not saying it would have been right for it to have been longer term, but clearly her mother had cared for her until her last few months. How could she let this happen?

Togetheragain45 · 13/12/2024 21:03

Will this ever end? Nothing can justify their treatment of this poor girl. Yes there will be 'lessons learned' but it keeps on happening. These people are scum. How can a mother stand by and watch her child being mistreated? It just beggars belief.

mamaxbear · 13/12/2024 21:05

As a mother my heart breaks, how do you sit and watch somebody beat your child? It makes me feel sick. I hope they get what’s deserved in prison.

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 13/12/2024 21:06

@Enigma52 - what an absolute load of crap. More children than you can envisage are safeguarded every single day. But the reality is we will never be able to stop people murdering others including children. There is literally nothing in the article that suggests that there have been major safeguarding failures for this child, until we know more we should reserve judgement.

The pictures of them mucking around and laughing as they wheeled her dead body around in her pushchair. I can't comprehend such inhumanity.

Thetalesofbeedlethebard · 13/12/2024 21:07

I think the poster is likely referring to our safeguarding procedures being totally inadequate. Social workers are totally overwhelmed and the list of children being murdered grows and grows, followed by cries of "lessons will be learnt." It seems lessons are never learnt.

If someone can tell me a single good reason why these two should be offered the opportunity to be 'rehabilitated' in prison instead of rotting in the ground I'll buy you a Christmas present and don't use the tried and tested 'it'd make us as bad as them' because killing child killers is not on the same planet as being one.

Horrific. They look like they were celebrating it.

I wondered if the poster was having a go a social workers. As someone who burnt themselves out as a CP SW and saw their fair share of child deaths I was ready to fight their corner. If social workers had crystal balls all would be well but many families fly under the radar and then it's too late. It's parents who inflict this on children not social workers.

It really should be the death penalty. There’s no other punishment.

HollyBaubles77 · 13/12/2024 21:17

We seem to have a subculture in the UK of people who do not know how to live a normal and fruitful life. Never had a job, few or no qualifications, dependent on drugs or alcohol, no routine, and then children are brought into the mix which is so upsetting as the cycle continues. Society and true family values of love, guidance and protection just seem to have been completely eroded. Thinking of that little girl tonight and feeling very sad.

Yep according to what I read the mother was said to be an ok mother until she met her new boyfriend only a couple of months before the murder then they ran off and camped in a tent on the beach together and the drug residues found in poor Isabellas body show she was exposed to second hand crack cocaine smoking.

What goes through some mothers heads that they let these men into their children's lives and abuse their children.
I saw the videos of them going out drinking shopping and laughing after doing it. So sick

SabreIsMyFave · 13/12/2024 21:18

Oh God this is awful! 😢

So upsetting to read. That poor little girl. What an evil creature he is really - the monster who killed her. And the 'mother' is no better for allowing it to happen. I hope they rot in prison.

.

velodrome · 13/12/2024 21:22

That poor little child, what a horrific life and death. It is absolutely nightmarish what they did to her.
We don’t know the circumstances but the dad evidently hasn’t been involved regularly with his young child either.
It’s so awful to think of those kids with no adult looking out for them and then other adults actively attacking them. We don’t have effective safeguarding now, if we ever did. Probably austerity and slashed budgets for social services has made the situation worse.

Wonderi · 13/12/2024 21:23

There is a video of them living homeless on the beach and someone (a SS or police officer) is questioning them and saying that the child cannot live in a tent in this heat etc and so they were known to be a safeguarding risk which is what I assume @Enigma52 is referring to.

There is an investigation going on because it seems that services were told but not followed up and it meant she slipped through the net because of the lack of communication between what I assume is SS and the police.

I read that story ( well they sky version but I assume the same content) just after putting my 2 yo to sleep and I just couldn't imaging being so cruel to someone so young and innocent.

Sick fucked up people

Nowdontmakeamess · 13/12/2024 21:30

I wonder if one day people will look back on the times anyone was allowed to have children, regardless of their suitability as parents, and think it madness.

There’s no way safeguarding, social services, police etc could ever protect every child. It would be better for them to never be born than suffer such horrific lives.

LameBorzoi · 13/12/2024 21:32

And until social services are properly funded and resourced, it will keep happening.

This is what is baffling me. Is there more to this? It just doesn’t make sense.

MeatRaffleRita · 13/12/2024 21:39

This isn't the fault of social services.

The people that did this are likely the kids of the kids who weren't parented either.
It's been getting steadily worse since the 80's.

Parenting skills and family values are extinct across whole swaithes of UK society now.
