The problem with discussing Hancock's evidence or any of the other enquiry evidence is that it shows that the UK was far to slow to take precautionary measures to reduce the spread of covid, thus increasing harms particularly to the most vulnerable including children.
It also demonstrates that senior cabinet ministers weren't listened to by the Prime Minister, rather making a mockery of the suggestion that having a Cabinet Minister for children would have made any difference. Especially if they took as little interest in their brief as the Health Secretary did.

I'd suggest that anyone who had paid any attention to Johnson's previous behaviour would have known that he would have prioritised his own enjoyment over the needs of children even his own.

The great thing is that inquiries are specific. And they reveal the decision making or indeed the lack of it in what was effectively a national emergency.

Hancock was particularly bad today on facts presented. A lot of our current political class refer exclusively to opinions, whereas how many verifiable facts they cite as the basis of their conclusions or opinions is key to actual credibility and their judgment.

Mumsnet, not so much... but I like posters with both as they are interesting for debate

People on MN all had a range of experiences, hence the interest in this inquiry.

Yes, but let's face it Piggy, this poster is very recognisable and I remember at least one of this poster's previous names. This means it's very interesting indeed when I take this poster up on their claim that they've answered XYZ before, and go back to old threads where we've interacted directly.

My posts are there... but this poster's contributions on those old thread have had the poster's name changed by MNHQ... Of course it's a fruitless attempt to gaslight us, because of my polite habit of addressing the poster I'm talking to by name.

As we have established jgw was not on MN then. No one else is ridiculing you and I dont think any posters of old ridiculed you then,much as you seem to want to say so.
