Search for Madeleine McCann

I know this invites controversy and blame, but is it possible to share how much I hope the new search yields a location for her finally and she can be returned to her family.

I hope people done start down the whole whodunit route.

I wonder why they chose that location and why now. They must have strong suspicions.

Ah thanks for link. It says they searched it before. Hopefully technology has advanced since then and can assist.

Wishing peace to her family at another incredibly difficult time. Their resilience is incredible.

Same, wishing that the McCann's can finally have some closure.

Often think of Madeline and her family, I hope the answer to her disappearance is found

I hope they locate her remains. I wonder if they would consider emptying the reservoir at any point?

I think they’re pretty certain it’s this man but just don’t have the evidence to prove it.

I don’t believe in the death penalty but I think he definitely deserves it as he is an animal.

I hope her body is found and can give her family closure and hope to other parents with missing children.

I'm so hopeful it's to do with information they have in investigating the suspect through the German police and not a rehash.

@TeaParty4Me It isnt him though. There is a retired Scotland Yard detective who did a credible investigation and documentary basically proving this man was not in the country at the time she disappeared.

The scary thing is the man who probably killed her will be walking free in a few years. Apparently they have evidence but not enough to charge him with Madeleine. I hope she is found both for her family and so this monster is not free to do this again.

Trouble is, as we saw in the Nicola bully case, remains are difficult to locate even with new technology.

@primoseyellow I may be wrong but I thought his phone records showed he was definitely in Praia de Luz area when Madeleine disappeared.

I really hope the family get closure. But, to think there is someone out there who knows what happened to her, someone who could have stopped all the accusations, heartache, grief, time and money spent looking for her. How could they abduct/kill her and let the family go through this, for all this time?

@VouisLuitton Mark Williams-Thomas is the man who investigated, he is the same person who first exposed Jimmy Saville with a documentary.

I think you can watch it on Channel 5 or You Tube.

I thought phone data put the suspect less than 5 mins away when she went missing? If indeed the guy wasn’t there it’s a waste of time doing a search though!

The German police seem pretty certain that it’s him.

I'm always sceptical of retired cops coming in to current investigations to throw cold water on them. How much access to information do they actually have.

They found Ben Needham 20 yrs later under what had been a building site at the time of his disappearance as far as I recall. Possibly a local or someone on their deathbed mentioned it, something like that. I think it might even have been his grandparents having the building work done

All very sad really that he was there under their noses the whole time
