These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

If the police have info that leads them to think she fell in and drowned, then it’s very clear they’ve neglected to share that with her partner.

her family have went silent, but her partner clearly isn’t privy to that info , which makes me think the police have nothing.

That's why I felt I needed to ask who arrived at the scene first because the police and PA seem to have conflicting ideas what happened.

Let's face it, if the same thing happened and the river wasn't there the police would be searching fields and buildings. So why have they been so focused on the river??

Exactly
Well said

@ofwarren ah I thought they were all unoccupied as out of season.

No, some people live there, especially Rowanwater

Could be because it would be the immediate obvious reason for her missing. Then with the facts that the working cctv of the exits was examined and she wasn’t on it, and the grounds searched and she wasn’t found, so they came to the conclusion that she hadn’t left the area and as everyone says, she couldn’t have disappeared into thin air.

Somebody on here yesterday said they saw someone the absolute spitting image of NB wearing sunglasses inside an M&S last week, acting strange - yet they never reported it! If people have this attitude of not reporting possible sightings then she'll never be bloody found, the poor woman.

Someone on Twitter yesterday said they saw her at Holyhead!

Nicola Bulley update:

Lancashire police statement says: "It remains the case that at the present time there is absolutely nothing in all the extensive enquiries we have made that suggests anything untoward has happened or that there is any third-party involvement.."

Based on all the work we have done up to now our belief remains that Nicola may have fallen into the river for some reason, but we are continuing to investigate all possible leads, and this involves viewing CCTV, Dashcam footage and speaking to people..."

Our priority throughout this investigation has been on finding Nicola and providing answers for her family. They continue to be supported and regularly updated by specially trained officers."

Unfortunately, we continue to see groundless and hurtful abuse of innocent people, including witnesses and local businesses, which is totally unacceptable."

We also continue to see a huge amount of commentary from so-called experts, ill-informed speculation and conspiracy theories which is damaging to the investigation, the community of St Michael’s and, worst of all, to Nicola’s family. It must stop."

We have consulted with the National Crime Agency which is offering continual advice and support, along with a number of national experts."

We will not tolerate any anti-social or criminal behaviour and we will not hesitate to use the powers at our disposal and to take action where appropriate."

The police statement says a Section 34 Dispersal Order which was in place for St Michael’s has been cancelled but "will be put back in place if we see a repeat of the behaviour from earlier in the week."

Lancs police will have an increased presence in the village over the weekend. "If anyone has information or concerns, they should feel free to come and speak to us," the statement says.

Just watched a preview of Paul's interview tonight. He doesn't believe for one moment that she is in the river and wants the police to step up the search to all houses and outbuildings etc

It's terrible if the police have no evidence/reason she's in the river and didn't cordon off the area immediately. I don't know how the family are coping Sad

MaMisled · 10/02/2023 17:34

I wonder if any more information will be made public on tonight's programme?

These sightings are ludicrous, I do feel for the police having to field this shit. Clearly if she’s done a runner she’s not down markies blithely doing her shopping or wandering round Holyhead.

The police say nothing to suggest anything untoward has happened…it beggars bloody belief..are they stupid..she gone inexplicably missing.. their communication is atrocious

pigsinoodies · 10/02/2023 17:39

I notice they're specifically saying 'may have fallen', rather than using 'entered'. Is that new?

Considerable shift in tone from their previous communications - not unexpected.

Yes - that's exactly what I picked up.

Lancashire Police

It’s now 2 weeks since #NicolaBulley went missing & our search is continuing.

People may have seen less police activity around the river, but thats not because we have stepped down our searches, rather the focus of the search has moved further downstream & out towards the coast.

JaneJeffer · 10/02/2023 17:43

I presume someone in Holyhead would be heading for Ireland and not wandering around @Activelyannoyed!

melonraspberry · 10/02/2023 17:44

I knew he’d do an interview . He’s getting some good advice from somewhere . I wonder if a comms expert is starting to help them , after seeing all the mess with go fund me etc. Paul seems good at tracking down advice.

pigsinoodies · 10/02/2023 17:46

I've not used a mortgage advisor for several decades. Do they take ID details - passports, driving licences, etc. - from clients?

placemats · 10/02/2023 17:46

What does 'third party involvement' mean?

Diverging · 10/02/2023 17:51

I wondered that. Surely foul play would be second party involvement otherwise who would that be?

Mygosh · 10/02/2023 17:51

The poor family, I hope they find Nicola soon. I don't understand the police comments about no evidence to suggest a third party involvement. Do they expect a phone call to say XYZ happened? Although we are one of the most watched nations (CCTV) people can still commit crimes, disappear etc, and not be seen. I have no idea why the whole area wasn't cordoned off. It would certainly have stopped the idiots who keep visiting it.
