These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

I think the 4m figure has come from somebody misinterpreting the Environment Agency's 'normal depth range' figure. I saw the divers working in that spot on TV and it didn't look like they were going down 4m.

I think the divers said 6 ft at its deepest point.

i'd been leaning towards Nicola's state of mind as being the "secret" the police have told the family alone because the family had gone very quiet for the last week. This dispels this.

It could be that they have information that they haven't told the family and the public but it feels the family have no more clarity that the public

Yes, I thought that was the general feeling and also I thought that must be the reason why Paul said he 'had to be careful' when he was interviewed last week.
I really don't know now. I just hope she's found soon.

Goldpaw · 10/02/2023 17:01

We're back to the scenarios

  1. She fell/jumped/was pushed into the river, either at the bench or at some other point.
  2. She left of her own accord either alone or with someone.
  3. She was abducted.
  1. She's not in the river. But it's been two weeks and after this length of time she may have passed along unnoticed at some point so could be in Morecambe Bay now.
  2. If she left with someone she could still be with them, or have moved on, or the person could have had criminal intentions and something happened to her. Or she could be far away by now.
  3. Her abductor may still have her, or something happened to her.
Goldpaw · 10/02/2023 17:03

And I meant to add to my list that there is no evidence for any scenario.

Activelyannoyed · 10/02/2023 17:06

If the police have info that leads them to think she fell in and drowned, then it’s very clear they’ve neglected to share that with her partner.

her family have went silent, but her partner clearly isn’t privy to that info , which makes me think the police have nothing.

I agree

OnthePiste · 10/02/2023 17:08

This is turning into the Corrie McKeague case all over again-countless possible scenarios, accusations at just about everyone and not a scrap of evidence to suggest anything.

I'm inclined to agree.

The fact that the police have said the same thing (that a missing woman was simply missing with no criminal involvement) and been proven wrong now makes me more concerned.

But without a body or other evidence, what could they do? It doesn't warrant a criminal investigation, but then she's still missing - it's frustrating but understandable, heartbreaking really that they're still no further forward.

Just watched a preview of Paul's interview tonight. He doesn't believe for one moment that she is in the river and wants the police to step up the search to all houses and outbuildings etc

Would wellies fall off your feet when in the water
I know those really long wellies are worn when fishing but obviously they are standing when fishing

but if you fell in and then were drifting wouldn’t they fall off … not sure about it but It was in my mind last night

OpalexBlonde · 10/02/2023 17:14

She could be somewhere really nearby, in the caravan site.

C5

It's been two weeks since mum-of-two Nicola Bulley went missing without a trace in Lancashire.

In an exclusive 5 News interview her partner, Paul Ansell, said Nicola "would never give up" on her family, so he won't give up on finding her.

How far upstream of the bench did SGI search? I notice where she was last seen in the top field was very close to the river but its quite a bit further upstream than the bench due to the bends in the river.

Sorry to be picky, but given it keeps being discussed in case it's of importance. According to the quote from the business owner in the Fail which was posted in this thread earlier today, she found the phone on the bench. She did not say she picked it up and put it on the bench.

As has been said, so much is woolly goodness only knows what actually happened. I'm

No idea where the “put it” came from - she found it on the bench.

A mile upstream

'Of course someone may have phoned in with a crucial piece of info and they just haven’t investigated it yet'

I've seen people on a Facebook page saying they've called the police and are miffed they haven't had a call back yet for t things like 'you should shave the dog to see if it's been kicked' (16 days later?!) someone else found a piece of clothing in the field and are very cross that the police told them to take it home and they'd collect it, as if finding a scarf or jumper in a public place merits a full scale CSI investigation. And don't even get me started on the psychics, one of whom approached Sally Riley after a press conference! If people would stop calling in for utter stupid nonsense it might give the police more time to investigate useful leads.

SchoolTripDrama · 10/02/2023 17:20

Somebody on here yesterday said they saw someone the absolute spitting image of NB wearing sunglasses inside an M&S last week, acting strange - yet they never reported it! If people have this attitude of not reporting possible sightings then she'll never be bloody found, the poor woman.

Let's face it, if the same thing happened and the river wasn't there the police would be searching fields and buildings. So why have they been so focused on the river??
