It raises a few questions, not least of which is why 15 million claimants are all on one disc!

Just spoken to CHB office - apparently people involved will be advised asap!

If they've lost the disc (must be a big disc) how will they know to contact I wonder ...

How many people claim CHB? You would have thought 15 million could be all of them? Number of children in the UK under 16, out of a total population of 55 mill?

They've known for some time, yes. In fact I first saw information on it last night on Watchdog - and they can take some time to get a story together.

With all the hassle we have had with Child Tax Credits - and now the strong possibility that my bank details, NI number, address etc are out there somewhere......????

It wouldnt surprise me. I remember one particular conversation on the CTC helpline whereby they insisted they didnt have my details, and yet I had submitted them all online. I told them I could see that I had submitted them online, and had an e-confirmation on their system that I had. Yet they couldnt see it. So I had to look up their website, to give them information over the telephone that they already had.

pml desderata but seriously it is now getting to the point, that when news like this is leaked or investigated I kind of roll my eyes and say "what's happened this time...." They are soooo f@*&%ing stupid!!!!!

And why oh why in this day and age, do they transport details on CDs in the post. Is that a tad prehistoric. Can you imagine if a bank did this?
