Surely I’ve got this wrong? She’s actually allowed back to the UK after joining a terrorist group abroad?

Anyone just a tiny bit worried about what might happen if she does return?

That's ok @viques. And excuse the pun. A woman in childbirth struggles but PUSHES through..... lol

silentpool · 16/07/2020 15:13

I always wonder why people like her don't find a way to move legally to a strict Islamic society? If you don't like the West and want to adhere to religious law, surely you have optIons? There has to be a middle ground between living here and fleeing to a Caliphate!

Getagripffs · 16/07/2020 15:15

I'm glad she's coming home.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 16/07/2020 15:16

I'm glad she's coming home

Why?

Getagripffs · 16/07/2020 15:19

Because I think it is wrong to make our citizens the problem of other countries. Because I think having lots of displaced citizens in camps is shoring up more trouble for the future. Because I think she was a child who was groomed and brainwashed by manipulative adults who wanted to use her body as a breeding mare. Because I think she is our responsibility, and we need to be accountable for her and hold her to whatever accountability she has, or give her whatever she needs to safely rejoin society.

sergeilavrov · 16/07/2020 15:28

@silentpool People with those views would be prevented from moving to Islamic states such as the KSA or UAE. There are strict guidelines in place to prevent this, as well as swift and severe action taken against those who are radicalised. Life is too liberal here for them, and there is a huge focus on tolerance and multiculturalism here that simply doesn’t suit the narratives of radicalised mindsets. The culture and community we aim to create here cannot be undermined by allowing extremists entry, we simply won’t put residents at risk for the sake of a halfway house for such people.

Annebronte · 16/07/2020 15:31

She’s a product of British society and should be tried and, if convicted, imprisoned, in the British justice system.

viques · 16/07/2020 15:33

@copperoliver

This country's laws are crap the worse you are the better you get treated. They will probably give her a new identity and everything. Then her and her new little group she befriends can carry on and try to kill us all. But the government don't care about that as it is very likely not going to happen to any any of them. X
Actually, members of various governments and MPs have been involved in terrorist attacks both by organisations and individuals , Airey Neave, the Brighton Hotel bombings , Jo Cox, Ian Gow, Stephen Timms.
greenestolives · 16/07/2020 15:35

@CatToddlerUprising

The court also stated the following: In its ruling, the court said: ‘If the security service and the director of public prosecutions consider that the evidence and public interest tests for a prosecution for terrorist offences are met, she could be arrested and charged upon her arrival in the United Kingdom and remanded in custody pending trial.’
I bloody well hope so.

She is a terrorist and a danger to this country.

Agreed.

How many of us did things at 15 we're appalled at

Wearing blue eyeliner and kissing the wrong boys is really not comparable to wanting to blow up the country you are from/ live in and maim and kill as many people as possible Hmm

God some of you are so "woke" I hate that word it's almost laughable. If it wasn't so sad.

We might have been guilty of dodgy fashion sense, but we didn’t run away from home so we could be part of a group that wanted to kill people.

As far as I can see, she isn’t 15 any more. She is a grown woman and her attitude towards the UK doesn’t appear to have changed. If there is another bomb that kills our children, our family members, our friends she will still celebrate it and think it is “justified”
Who is to say she won’t be carrying on her sewing career here.

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 16/07/2020 16:17

There is clear blue water between what most of us did at 15 (bad fashion choices and cider, in my case) and this monstrous human.
There is also clear blue water between your average 15 year old and a 15 year old who has been groomed and radicalised too.

The only mitigating factor I can think of is that she’s obviously not terribly bright.
If that’s the only motivating factor you can think of I think it’s ironic you’re questioning her intelligence.

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 16/07/2020 16:17

*mitigating

Gurtcha · 16/07/2020 16:17

Just had to double check I hadn’t opened the Daily Fail comments section by some hideous mistake.

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 16/07/2020 16:27

Plenty of 15 yos whose ocrimes aren't just against fashion.

Has anyone explained where she should be deported to given she is British?
Where should any British criminal be deported to?
I don’t think we can transport our criminals to the US or Australia these days. Do we set up a new penal colony? If so where?

Hoppinggreen · 16/07/2020 16:40

popsicle yes you have completely misunderstood
I am familiar with Islam and I know it is a peaceful religion. People who kill in its name are not true Muslims and are at best misguided or mentally ill and at worst are evil and looking for an excuse.
I was suggesting how this girl might have been sold the idea by others and how it could look exciting to a 15 year old

mummabear1967 · 16/07/2020 16:48

I’m shocked at some people sticking up for her.

She’s an evil terrorist scumbag who should never be allowed back into this country ever again. victims of terrorist attacks can’t come back again so why should she

PopsicleHustler · 16/07/2020 16:50

Here here @@hoppinggreen well put! Yes it is!

Gurtcha · 16/07/2020 16:54

Nobody is ‘sticking up for her’ OP. It’s not a school playground. It is however, a very complex issue, more so than you can imagine clearly. If you want to know why people are trying to challenge your thinking, start reading about grooming and terrorist cells. Plenty of information from reliable sources, studies, professional opinions and what have you, out there.

JoysOfString · 16/07/2020 16:54

I’m shocked at some people sticking up for her.

It's not sticking up for her, it's what is right by law. The law takes into consideration people's age, and the law says you can't just take citizenship away. The law is there to restrict illegal behaviour and that includes silly unsustainable populist stunts by governments.

She’s an evil terrorist scumbag who should never be allowed back into this country ever again. victims of terrorist attacks can’t come back again so why should she

Victims of murder can't come back, but that doesn't mean we throw all murderers out of the country. It just doesn't work like that. If it did, we'd just get everyone else murderers all the time and vice versa. Or maybe you think anyone who ever does anything wrong should just be shot into space?

mummabear1967 · 16/07/2020 16:59

Doesn’t matter, this is a very extreme circumstance and I think in exceptional circumstances, citizenship should be removed
