how many chances does he get? ffs!

aloha · 20/08/2007 13:13

I am truly pissed off that he is still at liberty after DRIVING while using drugs. I know he was 'only' in possession of "crack, heroin, ketamine and cannabis" (!) but of course he's using and driving. I've actually read interviews with him which describe him driving while on drugs. I don't really care if he kills himself with drugs, but I do object his careering around London while high.

UnquietDad · 20/08/2007 13:15

He should ask for additional charges of

a) being a twat
b) wearing a stupid hat
c) "singing" out of tune
d) being a twat
e) having a vacuous idiot skinny septum-bashing clothes-horse for a girlfriend
and
f) being a twat

to be taken into account.

I say 10 years.

Having an offensively spotty face in a built-up area?

policywonk · 20/08/2007 13:16

He is an immensely tedious little man, but he is an addict, and prison is really the last place for an addict. He should be put in a compulsory treatment programme or something. Have they not had the sense to take his license away?

UnquietDad · 20/08/2007 13:16

That's the idea!

OP posts:
Jazzicatz · 20/08/2007 13:17

I quite like him - not the driving whilst under the influence though!!!!!!!!!!!!

whiskeyandbeer · 20/08/2007 13:23

why does anyone act suprised when a celebrity gets special treatment these days? although in this case i'm unsure if it is really special treatment as from my time in the courts i've seen all manner of constant reoffenders get off with suspended sentences or fines.
still though, he is quality.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/08/2007 13:45

lol @ unquiet dad!

whiskeyandbeer · 20/08/2007 14:25

seen himmlive a couple of times with his various bands and i think musically he's quality.
pity he's such a joke now.

EricL · 20/08/2007 14:33

"Ooohh - look at me i'm so tortured and wracked with self-doubt. I never wanted to be a pop star, it was forced upon me and i don't know how to get out of it"

Such a pity. I really feel for them all.

BBBee · 20/08/2007 14:39

good band though

UnquietDad · 20/08/2007 15:12

He needs to get a proper job to pay for his drugs.

moljam · 20/08/2007 15:16

eurgh hes foul

whiskeyandbeer · 20/08/2007 15:25

"He needs to get a proper job to pay for his drugs"

as far as i know he does have a proper job to pay for them.he's a prodfessional musician. which in fairness is a darn sight better than robbing petrol stations or mugging old ladies to get some crack.
driving while on drugs is terrible though. i don't give a damn how much drugs someone wants to take themselves,if thats what they want to do go for it.but endangering others is beyond deplorable.

americantrish · 20/08/2007 15:29

it amazes me that he keeps getting out of doing any time. he'll end up dead if he doesn't clean up :I

UnquietDad · 20/08/2007 15:57

Yes, well obviously I mean a job other than "musician", so we can be spared his grunting and caterwauling.

OP posts:
whiskeyandbeer · 20/08/2007 17:01

well seeing as he's a junky i'd imagine he'd have troouble holding down any other job. this way he is earning his own money, not scrounging off the state or robbing anyone.

UnquietDad for Prime Minister . Seriously though I agree and it's about time an example was made of a celebrity. Bit like Paris Hilton, getting let out of jail early 'cos she was sick aah diddums, but then getting kicked back in by the Judge - yahoo. Kids need to be shown that it's not cool to do these things. Makes me so

whiskeyandbeer · 20/08/2007 17:36

"it's about time an example was made of a celebrity"

why though? as i said before and as others have mentioned he is not essentially getting any special treatment. the courts don't lock people up for these offences, it is only when a celecrity gets caught doing them that it comes to light in this manner.
so to make "an example of him" by virtue of the fact that he is somewhat famous would be an absolutely terrible way to run a legal system.

PeachesMcLean · 20/08/2007 17:42

But if you get caught drink driving it's an instant ban isn't it? Why has he still got his licence for driving on drugs?

alipiggie · 20/08/2007 17:44

Because they know that people are watching then and anyway, it's not like he didn't do anything is it . Kids idolise celebrities we all know that and agree with other posters, he most certainly should not be allowed to be still driving after being DUI.

LazyLineLegilimens · 20/08/2007 17:45

But didn't you know, UQD, he's a misunderstood poet who just needs the love of a good woman to set him on the straight and narrow.

At least, that's what I got attacked with when I dared to criticise the fool.

LazyLineLegilimens · 20/08/2007 17:45

Aside from anything else, he makes awful music.
