how come they can neither spell accurately nor use the rules of English Grammar?

OP posts:
haychee · 05/07/2007 20:42

im talking about school age kids for the millionth time. They need to know because they will undoubtedly find out. A pre-school child does need to hear the words; snatched from her bed

Lisalumps · 05/07/2007 20:44

I think you all need to get off this thread and read the one titled
"Only entrant in cake competition comes second"

SueBaroo · 05/07/2007 20:45

and yet, 60+ days after the event, my children do not know about it. How is this feat acheived? Is it some kind of modern miracle? It's amazing!

jofeb04 · 05/07/2007 20:45

So, why say: What do you expect when you wernt there to break the news yourself. The duty was left to another child. How lovely - cant say im suprised, how about the rest of the wise MNers. Its not the damn ad itself, its the way in ehich a child first hears about it. - when talking about school age.

As I said, my ds is three.

Lol at Sue

It's amazing

haychee · 05/07/2007 20:46

with regards to jofeb04s particular situation;
does this not entirely proove my point? If any child, who has the age capacity to be able to be unduly distressed about madeliene, should find out the news from another child that this can be the worst scenario?

MascaraOHara · 05/07/2007 20:47

I've just scanned this and honestly I can't believe that it's stil going on.

Can I just add a thought though..

When something is over publised you become immune to it and stop caring. Like that really good song on the radio that you just get sick of hearing about.

Lisalumps · 05/07/2007 20:48

Honestly you should read the cake story, it's very funny.

LittleBoot · 05/07/2007 20:49

Sorry but I think parents who tell their children the details about Madeleine and then don't tell them that they are not allowed to tell other children about it, are very anti-social.

There.

SueBaroo · 05/07/2007 20:51

'There.' is a fragment, littleboot. Proper sentences, please.

You should read the cake story, it is marvellous.

jofeb04 · 05/07/2007 20:51

Your saying schoolage children should know the details, my ds is not schoolage!

And, isn't it up to me to tell my ds what I want to tell him, not what you want me to tell him.

jofeb04 now stepping away from the thread

My work colleague has a school age son who is now unwilling to go to sleep alone because of the coverage. They were with him when he saw the first thing on the news and explained it sensitively. But the constant coverage and the fact that they are running campaigns in the school means that he now is completely obsessed.

I have not discussed it with my son and it is not a problem.

hippipotami · 05/07/2007 20:55

haychee, you were offered an olive branch earlier in this thread, now you have gone and got everyone's hackles up. please stop, you are not going to change all our opinions, all you are doing is making a spectacle of yourself.

deltamum · 05/07/2007 20:55

great discussion but do you know you guys have just contributed all the material for a feature piece in the Times. Why dont you ask Harriet Lane (the journalist) for some research royalty.

NKF · 05/07/2007 20:55

Delighted to see you too Haychee. It's been too long.

SueBaroo · 05/07/2007 20:55

I think haychee is addicted to the bear-pit now. To carry this on for so long displays definite masochistic tendencies, I fear.

oliveoil · 05/07/2007 20:55

fecketyfecketyboobarsearmpitminge

haychee · 05/07/2007 20:55

jofbe04 ds found out the news from another chikd and now that child is so distressed and cannot go to sleep for the fear. Im sorry but im even more determined now, that is the fuel i needed to restart my fire!
Sorry people, im on one again

LittleBoot · 05/07/2007 20:56
Lisalumps · 05/07/2007 20:56

NormaStanleyFletcher, I love your name by the way, this thread is not the place for you surely the cake story is much more to your liking.

jofeb04 · 05/07/2007 20:57

No, my ds found ouot she was snatched from other people. That's the problem.

FFS, HE IS 3

Parping now

MascaraOHara · 05/07/2007 20:57
