It appears the children and teacher have been found alive.
Has a miracle happened ?
I am so delighted and hope they will be ok after their horrific ordeal.
It's always nice to see good news as lately all the headlines are of something bad having happened.
Please forgive me if there is already a thread on this topic.

Keeping these amazing boys and their coach in my thoughts all the time at the moment. I hope they can allake it out. I feel that the chance of a 100% success rate is slim, and I wonder if they will move some and see how that goes, adjusting the strategy, rather than taking them all out at once. I agree it is the right thing to do to get them out today. The mental fortitude of these boys is incredible I feel. If anyone get through this they can.

It has started raining, I hope they are well underway. The levels of rain in Japan have been unprecedented, hope the same is not true of Thailand in the next few days.

It said on sky news the rescue started at 4am and the first child is due out at 3pm.

Godspeed boys x

Slartybartfast · 08/07/2018 10:47

So worried about these boys.

Jaxtellerswife · 08/07/2018 11:01

I am so hopeful for these boys, their coach and the rescuers. I can't imagine what they are going through.

Pupsiecola · 08/07/2018 11:05

They are using mai my international cave diving experts supported by Thai Navy Seals. I am relieved about this.

Dutch pumping company VanHeck, says they will deliver tomorrow a solution that will be able to get all water out of the cave in case they need it.
Sounds like they have modded a dyke pump and worked out a way to transport it to site.

AdventuresRUs · 08/07/2018 11:51

Wow I didnt see that. That would be awesome. Surely if so it would be worth waiting and not doing the squeezes...

Or maybe the fitter kids cam manage the diving and the pump could help to get the last few out?

Those making decisions must have to weigh up so many risks :(

NapQueen · 08/07/2018 11:54

I suppose the risk of waiting for the pump is that weather conditions could seriously worsen in the meantime. Or the health of those trapped.

I worry about the capability of the coach in there. Atm the kids have adult supervision. If he has declined, mentally or physically, then they just have to go ahead and extract as whats the alternative?

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 08/07/2018 11:55

Wonder how they made the decision on which boys to take out first? The older ones? The stronger ones? Or maybe if the rains will make it worse the longer they leave it, the weaker ones first?

AdventuresRUs · 08/07/2018 11:58

Have they not left someone with the kids at all times? I doubt they'd leave them in the care of the coach as he was quite weak.

PestymcPestFace · 08/07/2018 12:01

The operation began at 10am when 13 international divers entered the cave. 10 of them headed for chamber 9 (where the boys are) and chamber 6 (near the junction) as planned. Another 3 cave divers performed their duty to support diving efforts beginning at 14.00.

There are a number of additional rescue personnel including divers, from Thailand, USA, Australia, China and Europe stationed from chamber 3 to the entrance. This includes a rope system to assist over difficult terrain in chambers 2 and 3.

Sounds like they are daisy chaining them out with a stop in chamber 6 for rest, hydration etc.

bobstersmum · 08/07/2018 12:03

Praying for these poor boys! So scary I bet they're terrified. I'm in UK but some caves pretty local to us are very popular and one of them is opened as a show cave, however they do close it if heavy rain is due because the water just totally floods the caves. It put me off going again because you just never know.

BrieAndChilli · 08/07/2018 12:09

I think they have at least a couple of doctors in the cave with them who volunteered to stay with them.

speakout · 08/07/2018 12:15

Yes I read that too- there are two medics who have stayed with the group since they have were found.

ValMc1 · 08/07/2018 12:18

I was in Thailand a few years ago and we had a storm - and boy was it a storm - didn't last long but the amount of rain that fell was incredible - I'm not sure I can turn the tv on - please let all of them and their rescuers come out safely - the rescuers are very brave and selfless - amazing human beings

RideSallyRide76 · 08/07/2018 12:35

I've been wondering this. Maybe though they'd mix the groups up with stronger/more confident and weaker in each group. I'be read that taking them out in groups is partly to help prevent panic as they are calmer whilst they have each other there.

Whirliegigspiders · 08/07/2018 12:37

So so scary

viques · 08/07/2018 12:38

BBC news reports unconfirmed Thai news that two boys have been rescued. Not sure if this is from the cave they are in or from the cave complex. Hope it is true.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 08/07/2018 12:41

Oh my God, please let it be true

ValMc1 · 08/07/2018 12:42

Please please please

ValMc1 · 08/07/2018 12:42

Nothing on sky news yet

NotARegularPenguin · 08/07/2018 12:47

Really hope this is true.
